Disregard previous reviews. Course is under all new management including the GM, Head Pro, F&B mgr and Super. The place is very different from years past. Is it the best course in the area? No but it's also way less expensive, great value!

My brother and I took our dad golfing for Father's Day late on Saturday afternoon this past weekend. We were regulars at WR last year, but we will not be going back again. The course has fallen into total disrepair with 5 out of 7 of the tee boxes in the back nine (2 other holes were par 3 so understandable to be chewed up a bit) largely unplayable because there is bare sand covering 60-75% of the surface. There are also numerous areas with "Grounds Under Repair" which is understandable to an extent, although this doesn't really make sense with the favorable grass growing weather we have had this spring. It also seems as if all of the trenches for irrigation lines have collapsed as there are large ditches through many of the fairways at these points.

All of these things were liveable as we still had a fun round until we met the club "pro." He was extremely rude and disrespectful as we spent 15 seconds looking for a lost ball on the 18th hole. We play at the end of the day because we know the most serious golfers have already gotten their round in for the day and the majority of people playing at 6:00 on a Saturday evening understand if you spend a tiny bit of time looking for a ball. The club "pro" is not in that category. We abandoned the search and returned quickly to our car to unload, but the club "pro" had to give up his work on the practice putting green to walk by us and make an additional rude comment. After my dad tried talking to the "pro" to explain the situation, the guy still insisted on being rude and declined to apologize. Stick to one of the many BETTER courses in the area (Waunakee, Naga-Waukee, Moor Downs, Fairways of Woodside, Deer Haven, Morningstar, Brookfield Hills, etc.) that are better maintained and more challenging as well.

This is a nice place with helpful staff and a relatively relaxed setting. The driving range is convenient for a quick bucket of balls after work. They're relatively relaxed about Dad and a couple of daughters at twilight. But for the price there are better choices in the area. Just a few miles west, the public course at Nagawicka is less expensive, more picturesque, and a better maintained.
