On the positive note-great selection, prices, and accessories. The negatives-- I have not gotten return calls as promised on several different matters. I did not receive all of my order and had to follow up on my own and was told I could come to the store-I had paid for delivery so told them they could drop it off. The laquor [sp?] on the bed was very offensive and took several weeks to air out.

We Ordered 2 beautiful beds and a dresser/hutch from this store a few years ago. The sales men/women were all very helpful even when my daughter was running all over the place. They have so much to chose from and there prices are great. We looked and all the major Furniture stores, Steinhaffels, Colders, American...and found a poor selection in youth furniture and high prices. We just went back and bought more furniture and while there i mentioned needing to buy a new drawer for our Captains bed because my daughter got out of bed and stepped in it. He told me he would fix it!!! I was shocked and pleased. It is a family owned and run company and thats nice to see as well.

Also we were looking at the wooden letters to spell out our daughters names. We were doing pink white pink white for all 11 letters and the sales lady ran to the back to check the stock at least 4/5 times for us, as we were having trouble finding the letters. in the right color. That must have been very annoying of us, but she was very pleasant about it the whole time. :) Would and Will buy again!

Pros: great place

We bought a bunk bed for my son in 2008. Once we got it home found many dents in it. Sent photo's and got the choice of either money back or a new piece. They will contact us with whatever choice we chose. We have yet to hear from them that the new piece is in. It has almost been 1 year. Poor customer service and poor workmanship. After contacting them personally they are very willing to work with the customer, we are now going to be getting the piece even though the wait was long.

Cons: poor quality & customer service

We recently went shopping for an all-in-one style loft bed, a unit that integrates a dresser, desk, trundle bed, and loft bed all in a single unit.

After experiencing some frustration looking at several other stores (Steinhafels, PM Bedroom, Ashley, etc), which typically had very limited bunk bed selections to begin with, we started looking through manufacturer's web sites, and through the Powell Furniture web site, we found an intriguing entry for a store called Bunks and Beds. We used to live a few blocks away from there, in Heritage Village, yet we couldn't picture the place. But sure enough, we stopped by, and there it was... it's a fairly large store dedicated to mostly bunks and beds, and other children's bedroom goodies.

The main problem with the place is that it seems to be very low-key. We had a heck of a time finding it on the Web (had to ask for their web site, Google couldn't find it). As former residents of the area, it had never stood out to us. Yet the store is everything you could ask for... and it looks like it might be a family business, at that.

They had a great selection of bunk beds. Several times larger than any other furniture store that we visited. Of course, since they had almost nothing else but, that makes sense. They haven't bothered with fancy pseudo-room layouts, which suits me just fine, and instead have crammed their showroom full of different types of beds. The salespeople kept themselves available, yet were not annoyingly "in our face," an experience that was refreshing after some of the other furniture stores. It is rare to walk into a store, be greeted, say "Hi" and "Just looking", and not be bothered every few minutes thereafter (I *do* *not* want to talk to salespeople most of the time).

We didn't find the Powell Rustica All-in-one unit that we had been looking for, but they had a very similar unit by Raymond, and not only was it less expensive ($1300ish vs $1800ish), they also had a "tax rebate sale" on, and we ended up getting the unit for about $950 - almost half what we had been expecting.

We did have one problem. The bunk ladder came without hooks that should have been included. Recognizing that the unit was sourced from China, we simply made a pair out of heavy duty L brackets. It certainly wasn't BnB's fault, as the boxes were unopened. However, I can see both the annoyance of some other reviewers here, and I can see the bad position this puts the store in, since it can take a month or more to source parts from China, if it is even possible for them to contact someone that could be made to understand the problem (dealing with vendors in China is a pain!) We didn't want to wait for the parts, or deal with the ambiguity, and we simply bent a pair of L brackets into hooks in the shop, problem fixed.

We've been quite pleased with them, and hope to maybe do a little more business with them in the future.

10/08: We did in fact return to buy mattresses and some bedding, which they offered some pretty good deals on as well.

I recently purchased a twin over twin bunk set at this store. They have an excellent selection and the sales guy was helpful and patient. Although they have a great selection of kids' furniture, you get what you pay for. Our bunks are wood laminate and one corner chiped a little so far, but look nice for the price, and there were many color finishes to choose from. After mulling over our choice we were able to just call the store to order what we wanted and stopped in to pick it up...much appreciated instead of having to come back with three kids running all over the store. I would recommend this store to anyone wanting to get furniture for a child's room.

I had a similar experience to Thomas. Before my purchase, the sales staff was very accommodating and nice. After they received my money, however, was another story. They never called to schedule a delivery. After I called, the furniture was delivered almost three months after I ordered (although I was assured it would take less than a week). Then, one part of the bed was missing. I never received it. After calling repeatedly, I went back in. A woman actually snapped at ME- stating basically that they didn't have it, wouldn't be getting it in, and that was too bad for me. A man then assured me he would take care of it, but, of course, never did. The furniture itself was poor quality for the amount of money I paid. I would never return, or recommend this establishment to anyone.

We bought a complete bunk bed bedroom set for our children. The sales guy was very nice and accomodating in the store when we ordered the furniture. The furniture was delivered to the house, and there were several problems with it. Despite being assured that all the pieces came from the same lot, (meaning all the finishes would match exactly), one of the dressers was completely a different color. That was not the only problem. The top of the night stand was damaged, and there was a small hole from a drill in the front of one of the drawers on another dresser. We were assured that the pieces with defects would all be replaced. I assembled the bunk beds and quickly noticed another problem. The furniture we ordered was a wood laminate, and the laminate was peeling off all over the frame. The flakes were so sharp that they were slicing my fingers open during assembly. We rubbed candle wax over all of the problem areas so that our child would not get injured. The replacements took months to arrive, and may never have gotten to us if we didn't call twice a week, receiving attitude each time. We still have not received the replacement drawer front. We have long since stopped calling the store inquiring about this, choosing to write a negative review of their business instead. Hopefully this review will steer potential customers in a different direction when they go to buy bedroom furniture, because Bunks and Beds is not worth the headache. One more thing... When I payed for the furniture, I gave a woman on the phone my credit card number. For some reason, weeks went by and my account hadn't been charged. It isn't that I was overly eager to pay for this crappy furniture, but when I give out my credit card number, I expect them to run it right away, not hold onto my credit card number indefinitely. I found the whole experience with Bunks and Beds to lack professionalism and am curious as to how they've stayed in business for so long.

I recently purchased two mattresses and box springs from this store for almost HALF of what the identical ones cost in other stores. I could not have been more satisfied. I was purchasing a bed for both myself and my daughter, and most adults would not think to go mattress shopping at a kid's furnture store, but I was extremely satisfied and highly recommend them. They even cut my delivery fee in half because I lived close to the store.

This is where we got our daughters' bunk bed. They have a wonderful selection, and they even recently doubled in size! The staff is nice and willing to help you with any questions you may have, or even to assist you in finding what you're looking for, and the bed delivery is definitely a plus! Visit these guys before you visit those "well-known" (and often pricier, with less selection) competitors!

This store has a huge selection of beds and bunk beds! The owner is very friendly and works hard to show you what he has to suit your needs....he also gives you time to loo on your own and talk about things. We bought a bunk bed there and haven't had any problems. We would go back there to shop any time!
