You can barely navigate through this store. It is jamb-packed and overdone. The worst part is it is mostly the same stuff over and over every where you turn (if you are able to actually turn), they must not have a stock room!

They are not stroller or wheel chair accessible and will turn you away the moment you try to enter (as they did me and my infant daughter last year). So don't even consider wasting your time going if you require either ~ they don't want you or your money there. Where I come from the fire inspectors do not allow a public retail establishment to be so overcrowded, furthermore aren't there federal laws about handicap accessibility?

For some crazy reason I actually went back this year... my mother and daughter waited outside - my mom couldn't stand feeling like she was shopping in a closet. I picked out a small kitchen item and went to the cashier. LESSON #2: DON'T try to use your debit card on a purchase under $10 or you will also be turned away. According to the "sales" lady they are charged a merchant fee on debit card sales under $10, so they do not accept it, do not make any exceptions and would rather loose your business than pay the small fee! And believe me there was NO line of customers waiting to purchase anything, there were plenty of shoppers in the mall at other stores (they must have already learned their lessons and skipped "A La Carte").

I HAVE NEVER HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE IT, ANYWHERE WE HAVE TRAVELED. A STORE THAT ACTUALLY DOESN'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED BY CUSTOMERS! Do them a favor and shop at all the other wonderful nice shops at Gaslight Square in Minocqua and don't frustrate yourself in their's. Needless to stay they are out after two strikes in my book.

We have been coming to the Northwoods for over 20 years and it has always been a friendly place full of merchants who are glad to see you ~ NOT THIS ONE!

I really like A La Carte. I bought a quilted comforter there last year and just love it. The store has lots of great things for the home and the people are really friendly. I like to stop in there whenever I'm that part of the state.
