My wife and I came to Bayfield to spend a weekend to celebrate our anniversary.
We had one dinner here and it was fabulous.
Our key reason for choosing Wild Rice was their wine list - many choices and not outlandish prices.
Well, the wine was great, and the food matched our wine well.
The menu choices of duck, lamb, filet were wonderful - hard choice to make - can I have two??!!
Appetizers of lobster bisque and wild rice soup were some of the best we?ve ever tasted (bisque is only better in Boston)!

When we wanted to order a dessert wine, but could not choose the exact thing we wanted, the sommelier offered us a taste of each wine we were considering! Wow - that is rarely done.

Nice wine cellar as well - you can see all of the wines - like some of the fancy restaurants in Vegas.
We were seated immediately, service was great, and the views though the woods and to the lake were beautiful.

As the other posters have said - too bad this place is so far from the Twin Cites (perhaps they will open a restaurant here one day - please)?

Hope to return one day soon.

Pros: Wine choice/price, unique main course choices, plenty of parking, views

Cons: too far from Twin Cities

Absolutely amazing, from start to finish. Every bite was a culinary masterpiece. We were pleasantly surprised to find a place run by a chef with such an exquisite palate, especially in the midwest -- land of overcooked meat and mountains of parsley or cilantro on every dish. Instead, here you'll find beautifully presented food in flavor combinations that will both surprise and please you. The food is delicious - small slice of heaven, in fact - without trying too hard. The service is friendly, making each diner feel like a special guest. This is a true gem of a restaurant, worth every penny. We'll be back! (I highly recommend the sea scallops - best I've ever had.)

Pros: artistic delivery, superb taste

Cons: so far from us! (we live in st. paul, mn)

This restaurant is by far one of the best restaurants we have frequented - and with each visit to the Apostle Islands area, we will definitely come back. From appetizer all the way to dessert, every bite was delicious. We especially enjoyed being seated by the windows across from the kitchen where we could watch the staff artistically put the finishing touches on every plate.
