If I could give a company a Zero I would. I agree with everyone below me who has something negative to say. In an effort to try and tow my car this morning, the driver crashed it into another vehicle as he tried rushing out of the complex with out explanation as to why they were towing from a perfectly legal parking spot.
I wouldn't trust them to tow my bicycle. They are inconsiderate, manipulative, and horrible people. I do not know how Mr. Ervin sleeps at night after dealing with them today.

They are lying morons. If you need to sue them, go through the WV Public Service Commission. I did that and won. If they don't pay you, they will lose their license.

If you go through Magistrate Court and you win and they don''t pay you, there are no consequences. Call the Morgantown Police Department for the phone number for the Public Service Commission. Their number is 304-284-7200, extension 0.

Used them to move a '59 Ford. Called dispatch, the truck got to the house within an hour, moved the car within 30 minutes. Efficient, great customer service, and fair price. Will use again if needed.

I see many negative reviews on this business so let me give you a positive one. Last week my wife and I were taking a little trip and were on northbound I-79 when we had a blown tire, called AAA and they said they would be sending Ervins Towing in 30 minutes or less, after a confusion on AAA's part sending him South not North, a young man arrived in a tow truck. He parked the tow truck so he protected us and our vehicle, sitting along I-79 with trucks flying past you inches away isn't much fun, he proceeded to change the blown tire for us and had us back on the road in short order. We were treated with respect and he took care with our vehicle while changing the tire so if I ever have a problem again when in Morgantown I will ask for Ervins first.

In light of the number of negatives reviews, I feel almost obligated to share my very contrary experience.

I broke down while passing through Morgantown on a Saturday morning. I called AAA for the tow, and while waiting for the truck, used my I-Phone to look at some web reviews and make some calls. I called three places with excellent web reviews, but none were open. About then Ervin's arrived for AAA. The driver asked where I wanted it towed, and I asked him for suggestions. We looked at the problem (clearly visible) and he said that his shop was open until 1:00 and could do the work. I told him we'd take it there.

As he loaded my car on the flatbed, I looked up Ervin's and my stomach flopped to see all the negative reviews. But the driver was friendly and efficient, and I noticed he took some extra care to make sure the long, low nose of my sports car wouldn't scrape when loading on the flatbed. So we went to Ervin's. I'll admit the appearance of the shop made me more uneasy - even for a repair shop, it was sloppy and unimpressive.

But they looked at the car right away and reached the same diagnosis, but they didn't have the part for a rather rare, 14 year old model car. I watched as they called maybe a half dozen or more parts places, as far away as Pittsburgh, but couldn't find one open on Saturday. I asked what they thought the entire job would cost, and they verbally quoted me what seemed a very reasonable price. I decided to leave the car with them, rent a vehicle, and get on to my destination. They called one rental company for me, and when that company said it had no cars available, they called a second to make sure it had cars. Then they drove me to the rental car office, a good 20 mile round trip as it was all the way across Morgantown. When it appeared we might not make the rental car office before it closed at noon, the driver called ahead on his cell and asked them to stay open a few extra minutes.

On Monday morning I called to make sure they were ordering the part and knew what I wanted done. They called me back after lunch to say that had found and ordered the part, should arrive the next day. I asked again about the cost, and got the same price as before. On Tuesday I drove back through Morgantown hoping to be able to drop the rental, pick up my car, and keep going. I called at about 1:00 from the road - the part had not arrived. I got to Ervin's about 3:00 still no part. They called to verify that it had been shipped and should arrive that day and got the UPS tracking #. But seeing they weren't likely to get it in time to do the work before closing, I checked in to a hotel. They called about 4:15 and said the part had just arrived, and they would do the work first thing in the morning, should be ready by 10:00. The next morning it was indeed ready at 10 am sharp. I paid just what they had told me in advance - a fee my very trusted mechanic back home had advised me was very fair.

I've had no problems with the repair in the few days since. In short, these guys were friendly, reasonably priced, appear to have done a competent job, played no games about other work, etc., and did some nice things to help me out.

I'm not hoping or expecting to need repairs in Morgantown again, but if I did I'd use Ervin's.

Under no circumstance would i ever take anything short of a wheel barrel for these guys to fix. That would be if i did not need to have it back for six months. They don't know how to do paper work and are unable to do what they tell you they are going to do. Towing is the only thing that keeps these guys in business. Anyone writing a positive review for this company is either related or getting paid to do so.

Well my Daughter had her car towed by Ervin's. They looked at her car and told me she busted her trans cooler. I asked them to bypass the cooler and fill the fluid and road test the car. I was told they would not bypass the cooler. They gave me a EST. for $430.00 dollars. My Wife picked the car up drove only 5 miles and the car would not move. Wife had car towed back they charged $95.00 and told me the trans is bad. I been a Lincoln/Mercury Master tech for 20 years. They do not know how to repair or inform customers proper information. I will be taking this shop to court. But they will have to travel to Maryland 4 hours away for court. I think I might get my money back.

I WISH YOU COULD GIVE 0 STARS BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THESE LOWLIVES DESERVE. tHEY ARE RUDE AND UNEDUCATED AHOLES. FIRST OF ALL, THEY TOW MY VEHICLE THEN I RECEIVED 3 OR 4 DIFFERNT SETS OF DIRECTIONS TO GET TO THEIR LOT WHICH WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF BFE. THEY STARTED OUT SAYING THEY WERE LOCATED IN WESTOVER, THEN I HAD DIRECTIONS TO STAR CITY, THEN I HAD DIRECTIONS TO OSAGE, THEN I FINALLY GOT DIRECTIONS TO SOUTH PARK. THEIR LOT WAS ABOUT AS TRASHY AS THE PEOPLE RUNNING IT. FINALLY I GET TO THE PLACE AND THEN HAVE TO WAIT 45 MINUTES FOR A DRIVER TO EVEN SHOW UP. FINALLY THE DRIVER GETS THERE AND IS RUDE AS HELL. I TELL HIM HE TOWED MY VEHICLE FROM MY PLACE OF WORK, AND HE SAID "THATS NOT MY PROBLEM" THEN I HANDED HIM MY AAA CARD AND HE REFUSED TO ACCEPT IT, THEN I TRIED TO PAY WITH MY DEBIT CARD AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE DOESNT ACCEPT DEBIT CARDS ON THE WEEKENDS. THEN I WAS LIKE OK WELL I WILL GO GET CASH AND HE SAID "IM NOT F'N WAITING AROUND HERE FOR YOU TO GO GET CASH YOU ARENT GETTING YOUR GD CAR UNTIL MONDAY MORNING AT 8" HE HAD NO REASON TO TALK DOWN TO ME, AFTER ALL HE'S AN UNEDUCATED TOW TRUCK DRIVER WITH A POOR ATTITUDE AND A NEED FOR POWER. SO THEN WE PICK IT UP MONDAY AND THEY TOLD US THEY WERE ADDING 30 DOLLARS FOR STORAGE FEE, AND I WAS LIKE UM, NO...UR DRIVER TOLD US THAT IT WOULD BE 119 ON MONDAY. SHE SAID OH HE MUST HAVE BEEN CONFUSED, ANYWAYS IT'S 149. AND I SAID UM NO AND SHE TOLD ME THAT I WAS NOT GETTING MY CAR UNTIL THEY RECEIVED THE 149 DOLLARS IN FULL. SO WE THREW IT IN THEIR FACE. THEN I GET IN MY CAR AND CALL AND REPORT THEM TO AAA AND IN THE MEAN TIME THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT HOW THEY ARE GOING TO BLOCK ME INTO THE SPACE I WAS PARKED. WHICH JUST PISSED ME OFF MORE, SO NOT ONLY ARE THEY RUDE, BUT THEY ALSO LACK A MATURITY LEVEL. BUT THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY LOOK AT IT IS WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A TRASY ESTABLISHMENT WITH TRASHY CROOKS. OH WAIT, NOT MUCH MORE THAN THE SERVICE I RECEIVED, IF YOU COULD CALL IT A SERVICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THESE LOWLIVES TO REPORT THEM TO THE WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC SERVICE COMISSION. THIS ESTABLISHMENT NEEDS SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY

This place should not be allowed to tow vehicles in Morgantown. Not only was the owner rude her actually threatened me with violence. He towed my car 50 feet and would not release it until I paid basically $120.

Anybody who rated this place more than 1 star is obviously an employee there because there is no way that they received good service from here. How? they have towed many, many of my friends vehicles from places they were NOT supposed to be towed from!!! and it cost them 180+ to get their vehicles out. They are corrupt and it isn't right that they are allowed to continue on with their business.

AAA had them tow my car there. I told them NOT to work on my car while I was figuring out about the warranty. They went ahead and did the work without my permission. Now my warranty is void and car is totalled.

I want to give kudos where they are well deserved. I manage a company from Hagerstown, MD, one of my driver's was hauling a Mercedes-Benz from Ohio to Hagerstown. The pickup we used had blown the engine. While my driver's pickup and trailer were sitting on the side of the road a pickup truck struck the rear of the trailer. This caused the Mercedes-Benz to be pushed off the trailer into the back of the pickup we were pulling with.

The state police contacted Ervins to pickup the responsible party's vehicle. They arrived promptly and stuck around to help the towing company that picked our vehicle up.

We also have been ripped off by ERVINS TOWING. My sons car was towed and held. He also had a permit on his car. He was charged over $600.00 . This scam is targeting students of WVU. The negitive feedback speaks for it's self. We are seeking justice and I suggest anyone who is avictim in this scam does the same

This company is a scam. They told my son and his roommates that they needed permits for their cars to be parked in their apartment parking lot. They all paid for the permits. Less than 24 hours later Ervin's towed 5 cars from the lot. All the cars had permits. When the boys called to find out why, they were treated rudely and then hung up on. I, as a parent, called to understand the situation. I was also hung up on. These kids were all parked where Ervin's told them to park. There are no signs in the lot and the spaces aren't even marked. Ervin's said they were not in the correct spaces. I have advised the students to all take pictures of the lot and lack of signs. We are going to pursue this until they do the right thing. Anyone who has been scammed by this company needs to call the Better Business Bureau and ensure they they get whats coming to them.

I had my jeep checked by them because it was not idling properly. They told me it needs tune up and will cost me $350!! When I denied the service they told me I need to pay $55 because they checked the car or they will not return my car. They are extreemly rude and unprofessional. I would advise every one to stay away from them,

every employee here is a scum bag. extremely rude, very disrespectful. They do not give you any help after towing you and charging you 100 dollars. You have to hear swearing and disrespectful talk from their scumbag employees. This company should be completely torn down and put out of business. They have nothing going for them. The main driver Ray is the biggest scumbag of them all. They make you walk to an ATM 2 miles away if you don't have cash because they don't take credit or debit. Once you get your 100 dollars, they don't give you change for your cash because they have a no change policy. They rip you off completely, treat you like crap even though they are the 50 some year old scum bags that tow college kids cars for a living. They actually messed up my engine during towing my car. Then they claim nothing is wrong with it because they don't want to get hit with having to repair it when they broke it in the first place. all scumbags, do not give them business so they can rip off college kids that are trying to do something with their lives and become educated unlike these low life's

Upon returning my son to Morgantown after Christmas break, I parked my car in a lot behind Arnold Hall across from Willey St. There were approx. 7 cars there at the time. When I came out of the dorm to get my car, it was gone. I looked to see if I could find a no parking sign, there is not one or a sign Private Property, No Parking, There is not one. I found a small sign across the lot said permit parking and a number to call. Not a conspicuous sign at all. After my car was towed I went to the store next door to find out what towing co. I called Erwin's and after 5 calls was given flimsy directions. The man was very rude and said "it was my problem". I took a cab and of course the cab driver did not know where Erwins was located. Finally, on the phone with step by step directions I found it. They charged $90 towing $45 storage. I don't think they have anything to do with the people who own the lot. This company is a definite SCAM! I hope a lot of people read this message and I hope the City of Morgantown becomes aware of what this outfit are doing.

I have worked with cars all my life. My father owns a repair garage and it is the family business in which my brother is in line to take over. When the tow truck came to help me, he told me my ball joint broke, which isn't a common problem under my circumstances, but that is what I thought it was myself. Once the shop looked at my car, they told me my car's "axle" broke along with the tie rod and the ball joint. Having been under my car and looking at the axle, I know it was not broke. Once I talked to the mechanic, it was clear that he knew that was the case and tried to sell me on it anyway. Once I told him my background he told me the cheapest thing I could do is to just have the ball join fixed (funny the axle all of a sudden didn't need to be replaced, cause it won't move at all without that) and it was still going to be around 400$ (the part only costs 20). With towing and the fee to look at the car, I was still going be paying 200 dollars labor on a hour of work. Tell me that isn't a ripoff. The towing of my car was great, as they waited with me until they could have another truck come without messing up my wheel further, but the repairs themselves are way to overpriced and I honestly don't believe they know the difference from a turkey from a cow. DO NOT REPAIR AT THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL DISRESPECT YOUR INTELLIGENCE.

I have worked with cars all my life. My father owns a repair garage and it is the family business in which my brother is in line to take over. I must concur with the other WVU parent who was dissatisfied with the treatment her son received after retrieving his car from the tow service. My son's experience was similar. After I phoned the service to determine exactly the reasons why and how the car was towed, I was treated disrespectfully by the receptionist. In fact, she basically hung up the phone while I was in mid-sentence, refusing to answer my questions and in her mind, she believed she was respectful because she curtly added, "now you have a nice day." I urge the WVU community not to patronize this service.

My son was treated with disrespect and rudeness from this place of business. He was called names such as a "pissy kid from WVU" that they are sick and tired of dealing with. was towed from his dorm parking lot. When my son arrived @ Erwin's Towing Co. the lady was very rude to say the least. After paying the $150.00 fine and having his debit card thrown back @ him he was approached by 4 men who threatened to not give him his car.
My son said I've paid and now I need to know where my car is. They laughed @ him and told him he could figure out where it was located on his own.

Stranded on Interstate 68 due to transmission problems,.. Irvin's towing happened by, offering a fair price, I agreed to be towed on into Morgantown. I paid by credit card at point "A", then as I was conducting business inside a Morgantown transmission shop (point "B") my wife, outside this business, was then asked to pay an additional amount to account for "gas charges"? She paid CASH, got no receipt, my vehicle was dropped and the driver left. I called Irvin's to express my dis-pleasure with this "extra charge" and was told that we would then be refunded this cash amount paid. Back in Parkersburg (home) I sent Irvin's a note to remind them of this agreement. I RECEIVED A CHECK BACK IN THE AMOUNT I HAD EXPECTED, AND WAS QUITE PLEASED WITH THE HONESTY! While I questioned the business of that day, I dearly appreciated their honesty, and GOOD to their word on making things right and proper with myself! I'd certainly consider doing business with Irvin's Towing again, should I be in that unfortunate situation of being broken down again.

My husband and I have been taking our cars to Ervin's for several years and I haven't had any problems with them.
I tried other mechanics for a few years before finding that shop. I had bad experiences
I have been satisfied with Ervin's work and felt their charges have been fair.
I've had good communication with the shop. My Car has 122000 miles on it. My husbands truck has at least that much mileage. Both cars run well. .
They've towed our cars twice thru AAA I have no idea what they usually charge

My car broke down while away at school and called triple A to come pick it up. Ervin's towing showed up and said they would be able to get the car in the shop that day and have it back as soon as possible. Four days went by and never a phone call to give me an update. When the car was finally fixed they said it would be 700 dollars (200 more than estimate). I went to pick up the car and then they told me that they do not take credit card over the phone, which was the only way to pay for it. I told him I had finals all week and was planning on going home for Christmas break the folling day and he still didn't care. He was the most unprofessional person/company I have ever been to. I wouldn't even want him to tow my car from triple A. DO NOT HAVE YOU VEHICLE WORKED ON HERE!

Ihad my vehicle towed By Ervins. The driver came, was very rude, (maybe he was having a bad hair day!), and towed my vehicle only 5 miles, charged me 90.00 for the tow, and 45.00 for the hookup!!!
Talk about getting ripped off!!! I will NEVER use this company again!
BEWARE!!!

ervins was contacted thru AAA when daughter broke down on way home from college, said they had to tow to their shop, checked charging system and said it was ok but needed battery. Charged her $100.66 for battery from Advance Auto I can walk in off street and buy for $54.00. total bill was $157.05
Daughter got 23 miles farther and battery was dead again, AAA tow again to Bridgeport WV alternator was not charging system, they charged $220 for an alternator (I can walk in Advance and buy for $188, I feel that is a fair mark up)

Overcharged for battery and work not performed, checking charging system. Feel was because of young girl.

I would recommend them as a towing company if you were in need of a tow truck. Ervins is a AAA representative so they can replace your flat tire with a spare, get you some gas if you run out, fill your tire with air if it is low, etc.... Ervins charges the standard rate for towing and as far as a towing company goes they are fairly nice people.

I have had this company tow one of my vehicles before when my daughter hit a deer and I thought well there prices are not to bad. Well i got fooled, I needed towed from Morgantown to Fairmont and this company was the most expensive in Morgantown. 100.00 to be towed. I had a company from Fairmont come up and towed my vehicle back for 65.00. I called other morgantown co and they could still beat this towing co. Would not recommend this tow co

Ervins Auto Repair & Towing is the best towing service in Morgantown. They have the best rates, and are very quick to get to you. I have used them several times, and have never been disappointed. I had checked all the towing companies in town, and Ervins beat them all in price. When I broke down in another town, they made it to me super fast, and didn't over charge me to tow my van.
