CRE is where both my children attended school soon after it was built. It was a great school then. My grandson went through his 6 yrs here , now granddaughter is in 3rd grade here. This school has changed so much in the past few years, not to the better though. Over the years I have went to the school for parents lunch with my children, grandparents lunch with grandchildren and even went as a grandparent for nieces two sons, It was always so much fun doing this. A couple weeks ago my granddaughter brought a paper home for me to sign, to go eat breakfast with her. Grandparents breakfast with your grandchild. I went, the place was so crowed, some had to stand. They handed you a donut and coffee as you went in. I declined, didn't want to spoil the breakfast. My granddaughter set with me, asking when do we get to eat. They had a program on stage, a few 6th graders reading poems to their grandparents, could not hear one word they said or anything anyone else said on stage. Then very loudly they ask for volunteers to help with different programs at school. They thanked everyone for coming. I was disappointed as was my granddaugher who thought we were going to be having breakfast together. There was no breakfast. People that were really upset over the whole thing. I will not go back for anything like this again. Last year my daughter who is a cancer survivor working with the National Cancer Association, ask if she could place jars in the class rooms for kids to put their pennies in to help fight cancer. Class collecting the most money was treated with a pizza party. She was told, absolutly not, by the principal, didn't want to do this type of thing at the school. This year a paper was sent home telling parents, jars would be placed in each class room, for children to bring their extra change to help with Katrina. My daughter wrote back. No way would she help with this or anything else at this school again. Need a new Principle that cares.
