I moved to upstate NY from Morgantown, WV in 1999 to go to graduate school, and I still live here today. I miss my old haunts and places to eat in WV, including Cafe of India. In fact, every time my parents come up to NY to visit me, I ask them to pack a cooler and bring me some chicken vindaloo from there!
But it's not just the chicken vindaloo that makes this place such an addiction. Its pretty much every item on the menu. Can't decide on something. Try one of the Thali's - that's a combination platter with a couple menu items, basamiti rice, a tandoori chicken leg, cheese ball (one of their dessert items - awesome!) and some bread. There is also a lunch buffet during the week with some yummy Indian food if you are new to the Indian food scene, or just can't decide what sounds good!
The atmosphere couldn't be any more perfect. The restaurant originially started out on Fayette street around the corner of Fayette and Main, across from Gateway Comics. Due to a growing customer base the restaurant is now down Fayette St. across from Daniel's parking lot. But the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly service has never changed. The owner and waitstaff has been wonderful, always making sure your drink is refilled and that the food is made to perfection, plus if you are a regular, they get to know you by name very quickly :)
Another suggestion: do try the Divali buffet they have late November-early December. It's a 20-30 item buffet -however reservations are highly
urged!
Prices for a dinner entree go about 8-12 dollars, I think 5-7 for a lunch entree. The lunch buffet runs about 5-6 dollars.

PROS: wonderful food and service, excellent prices
CONS: none
