The staff at Audubon made a big huge mistake in not seeing my dog when she was injured a few weeks ago. Insisted I go to the Emergency Clinic instead of seeing her established Vet Dr Thompson whom I have dealed with for years. She ended up needing multiple xrays and hip surgery.... which we endured a large Vet Bill which was fine and the Vet that did take her on as a new patient took very good care of her and her surgery was successful and she is doing very well. LOST REVENUE for the Audubon Animal Clinic. With a new Vet coming to Bridgeport soon I do not think could be a plus for this clinic, I could not get past the staff to speak to a Vet at Audubon the day of her injury to get her in that day. I will never recommend this clinic to anyone in the future which I have done several times in the past years. Your loss, OUR GAIN,
Now I know why Dr McCutcheons Ad in the yellow pages states " WE LIKE ANIMALS AND PEOPLE TOO " Must be in reference to the way the Audubon Clinic treats people and looks at them when they walk in the door with their pets. As my husband said they are eye rollers and look at you like they are so mad cause you walked in ! This has become a common fact amoung alot of people in the area who are seeking care for their pets elsewhere. I have spoken to 6 people recently who were treated terrible by staff at Audubon.
I have taken my pets to Dr Thompson for years. He has done surgery on two of my pets over the years. I called for an appointment after my black lab woke up unable to walk and experiencing rt hip pain on 2/14/11. She is nine yrs old and in alot of pain. Me being a Nurse and scheduled for duty and my Husband a physician neither of us could get her there before 5 pm. We could have her there around 5:30. The receptionist would not give her any appt later than 5 pm. I understand that every office has its hours but could they not at least have evening hours or wait 30 minutes on an established patient that has spent alot of money over the years ?? I love Dr Thompson and his care has been exceptional and I hate to seek another vet but today I was forced to. In addition the last few times I was there with my dogs and my Fathers dog, the receptionist were VERY cold and unfriendly and a few years ago whenever I boarded one of my labs for a week, I was treated very rudely along with my dog when I picked her up. I vowed then never ever to board her there again which I have not. I have always had labs and we all know the character and personality of a lab. They are meek and mild and overall nice pets. Mine have always been exceptional. Of course when our animals hurt, we hurt. I was fortunate enough to find another VET whom I have never dealed with that worked me in and was willing to wait for my husband 15 to 20 minutes to get there with her. I will no longer be using Audubon for my vet services and I really hate this but you are only as good as your staff will let you be. I think the staff at Dr Thompsons needs reevaluated and some more evening hours offered to those of us that work through the day and have jobs that require us to be there. I have heard this from others in the past about the rude and uncaring staff but continue to do business there in spite of it. I have decided to take another route.
