.

Milleson's Campground is family owned in an old walnut grove right on a bend in the south branch of the Potomac River. This is a beautiful location with lots of shade trees on the campsites. The river is very clean here, not like the Potomac River near DC, and you will find lots of families here tubing, swimming and fishing. There are RV sites with hookups and good old tent sites as well.
The road to get to the campground and the roads within are pretty rough, but hopefully they will fix these soon.

The facilities include a bathhouse with restrooms with showers and changing rooms, a well-stocked camp store and a coin-operated laundry room with a paperback lending library in case you get bored. There is also a pavilion that is used for family reunions and bands that play on the 4th of July and such and at other times that is the hangout for the teenagers. The playground only has swings, but a lot of kids stay busy riding their bikes around the grounds.

This is not a perfectly groomed KOA place - it is rustic, but very clean and safe.

If you are looking for campgrounds in this area I highly recommend Milleson's.
