We had a emergency with a dog that had ripped out a toe nail and could not get bleeding to stop. Called Cross Lanes Vet which is 5 minuets from are house and they refused to wait as it was at closing time. This is not the first time Cross Lanes Vet has done this to us. We them took him to Animal Emergency Clinic where they did everything they could to save him but he had lost so much blood by them they had to put him down. We are very thankful for the help and doing all that they could to save him.

My first encounter with Animal Emergency Clinic was one Sunday morning when one of my cats suddenly became paralyzed and unable to walk. My regular vet was not in his office and couldn't be reached by phone, so I called AEC and spoke with a very helpful receptionist who advised me to bring my cat in ASAP. When we got to AEC, the vet, Dr. Perkins, saw my cat immediately. She was very knowledgeable about his condition (which turned out to be a cerebral hemorrhage) and straightforward with me about his slim chances for recovery. I decided that euthanasia was the best option. Dr. Perkins and the office staff were all very kind, and the charges were very reasonable. They even sent me a sympathy card several days later.

My second trip to AEC was when one of my other cats peed on my kitchen countertop one weekend. I suspected a UTI had caused this strange behavior, and I decided not to wait until Monday morning to see my regular vet. I took my cat to AEC. Dr. Perkins again was very nice and knowledgeable. She ran a urinalysis and determined that my cat had a bladder infection. She gave her two shots, and a 2-week supply of antibiotic pills. My bill was a very reasonable $158 for all of this.

I would highly recommend AEC. They're open 24 hours a day from Friday night to Monday morning, and from 7 PM to 7 AM during the rest of the week.

Since I spent some time in the waiting room, I understand why this emergency veterinarian doesn't take payments. They are fast, efficient, and take on more critical patients than any other veterinary office that I have seen. I also noticed how many people came into the office that tried to "stiff" them while I was sitting there. They flat out lied about what they were willing to pay, signed estimates without looking at them, and there was one that quickly walked out without paying. I can understand why they ask for money that day. They wouldn't have enough money to run the office if they changed their rules. People are just not trust worthy enough. I give props to those girls! They are good at what they do!

I took my cat in to the supposed emergency clinic after he was hit by a car and had an injured leg. They would not see him because I was not able to pay the full fee that day. I was willing to make any arrangements necessary, and could have paid $50 up front and the remainder within 5 days. Nope. Unless you can pay for the whole visit, which averages $180 to $250 according to their information sheet, they will not see your pet, even when they are injured and in pain. Any "emergency" vet that will turn away an acutely injured pet because the full fee can't be paid that day is no emergency vet. Next time, I will be sure to schedule my emergency for payday.
