5 Stars: Lots of flavors (by Whodat j.)

Great unique ice cream shop in downtown NY, right in Chinatown as the name suggests. You can find popular asian flavors such as green tea, red bean, tarot and of course your standard vanilla, chocolate, etc. There's a large selection on the menu. They offer cones, cups, and shakes of course. Ice cream is homemade and simply - delicious! The store is tiny so lines might go out the door during summertime, but it's worth the wait.

5 Stars: Exotic ice cream (by Angela W.)

The one place to find a different kind of ice cream. They have chinese flavored ice cream that you can't find any place else. If you ask, you can get a sample of any flavor you want. Try the red bean ice cream. It is a small store and sometimes you have to wait till people are done on the inside before you can go in. They sell ice cream cakes, it is not considered expensive. The store is opened late. They also have regular flavored ice cream though it does not taste as good as the others.

4 Stars: I scream for ice cream! (by Alma Z.)

This has got to be one of the best kept secrets in Chinatown. They don't just make your garden variety chocolate, vanilla, strawberry flavors. They go out there. They have flavors such as lychee, taro, pumpkin pie & black sesame seed to name a few. If you're not sure which one to try they offer free samples.

5 Stars: Exotic Unique Flavors (by Suk C.)

Chinatown Ice Cream Factory has flavors you won't find anywhere. They have unique flavors such as almond cake and red bean, which is my favorite. If you are ever in the chinatown area, you should definitely stop by here. Can be crowded sometimes, always filled with tourists! There ice cream cakes are also delicious! I had one for my last birthday party. A definite hit! There was barely enough!

PROS: Endless unique flavors
CONS: small, crowded

5 Stars: ice cream heaven (by Dianna Y.)

the amount of flavors here are extraordinary. they have such exotic flavors as ginger (which is very good), red bean, mango, peach, green tea, etc. i love the cake that they have which is a combination of the three flavors of mango, lychee, and red bean ice cream. the red bean ice cream has to be one of the best flavors. prices are reasonable. about $2.75 for a scoop. well worth it. they also have milk shakes which are also very good.

4 Stars: Freshest Ice Cream in Lower Manhattan (by Carrie K.)

This well known place has some of the freshest ice cream you'll get your hands on. While other places have their ice cream shipped, this place makes their own ice cream. They have all the original flavors, and exotic flavors you've never tried! Dozens of toppings. Great Milkshakes. You can even buy their t-shirts! Warning: sometimes there are interesting ingredients.

5 Stars: ...exotic flavors too (by Angela Y.)

I can't decide which flavor I like best from here! Is it the simple Mint choco chip or maybe the sweet lychee ice cream? Maybe if I mixed red bean and green tea! You also have to try their 3 layer-flavored ice cream cakes, whether for a birthday celebration, father's day... or no special reason! I can almost taste it now!

4 Stars: A cure for the common ice cream (by Tyson B.)

If you are into trying new things, this little ice cream parlor is worth a try. Located on a side street in Chinatown (you may need to mapquest it to find it) this place has so many bizarre flavors you will want to come back again and again. I would recommend the green tea ice cream, the mango sorbet (with huge mango chunks in it) and the best; lychee ice cream. All the ice cream is made on premises and it has that wonderful home made consistency.
