The Rooftop Sky Terrace at the Washington Hotel

I love this view. It shocks me each time...the beauty. Must see at night as you can see all the way to the light on Kennedy's grave.I was even lucky enough to watch the helicopter land on the south lawn of the White House on one visit....Enjoy it!

No doubt this is one of the best views in DC, and that is mostly what you pay for. Service is mediocre. Food isn't any better than you could get at TGI Friday's or Outback...just more expensive. You'll also never pay so much for so little when it comes to the drinks.

If this WAS a TGI Friday's or an Outback it would have been out of business a long time ago.

Come for the view.

We regret that the Washington Hotel is no longer there, e.g., closed for renovations, etc. Please let us know when the new Washington Hotel will reopen. We will be first in line to come in to have a beautiful Rooftop meal experience.

My daughter had a Sunday dinner at this restaurant. It was crowded but there was no wait for a table. We did have to wait a little while to place our order. However, the view from our table was absolutely fabulous. The service was good and the food is very affordable.I would recommend this restaurant to visitors and area residents.

For a place with a commanding view of the White House and Mall you might expect to have to pay through the nose, but here you can have a reasonably priced lunch. Best during out door dining season. A top place to take out of town visitors.

You can get splendid view of the White House and the Washington Monument with a moderate price high quality meals in this extra ordinary restaurant.

It's perfect place for weekend brunch, or business meals during the week day.

The Rooftop Terrace has open air patio seatings which are open all year around starting December 2004. See their website, for the pics http://www.hotelwashington.com/image-gallery.html

During rainy or windy days you can go to their Sky Room Restaurant to enjoy a formal and more sophisticated atmosphere.

PROS: Great view, moderate price and high quality meal, friendly waiters
