This is the most horrible hospital in the area. I rather take the 35-40 min drive to Wellstar Douglas, or Kennestone, or to Tanner Medical in Villa Rica. It's dingy and the staff is very inattentive. I can't wait until the new hospital is built and they get rid of this place. Hopefully they will get better staff when it opens.

I will never send any one in my family to there hospital again. I told the nurse my daughter got on the phone that she didn't want me to come down there. As soon as I find out who the doctor was that had them detain my wife for mental evaluation at 9:30 at night I will pay him a visit. When I'm done talking to him I'm sure he will have a better understanding of his job the next time.

On May 7, 2009, My family had me sent by ambulance to Paul ding ER. It was around 10:00pm when I arrived. People were nice and treated me well until I was sent to radiology for a chest x-ray and CT scan. The chest x-ray seemed fairly routine until I noticed they were not using any film in the machine, especially between views. also, when they did the ct scan, I was put in the machine for exactly one minute, a light was placed on my face, then turned off, and out of the scan I came. I felt very strange, and knew that a scan was not done. I know this because I am a registered nurse and know about these machines. I felt so violated, and feel that I shouldn't pay for something I didn't get. J Williams

Check staph infection rates at hospitals before having your surgery done. They do happen at fine hospitals.

Took my daughter with a 106 temp and bending-over right-side pain to Wellstar Paulding Hospital Emergency Room. Bad mistake.

The place is dirty, outdated, incompetently staffed, disrespectful, and horrifying. The doctors and staff were actually laughing and making fun of a patient that had just left the facility.

The emergency room doctor and the "head" surgeon told us, "Sorry, your daughter has Chron's Disease." I begged them to check for appendicitis, but they refused. This Wellstar facility and those doctors continued to misdiagnose my daughter's appendicitis for a YEAR, until one of the nurses at the hospital told me to take my daughter somewhere else. One trip to an area university hospital, and the correct diagnosis of CHRONIC APPENDICITIS was rendered and verified by lab results.

What do you think happens to a young girl's female organs when a nasty appendix sets atop of them for a year? The hospital, doctors, and surgeon's incompetence cost my daughter her right-side reproductive organs. She was forced to encounter multiple surgeries, and she faces continued pain and probable future surgery from severe adhesions cast upon her body from the appendix.

DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE. If you live in the Atlanta/Hiram/Dallas/Marietta area, TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES TO THE AREA CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OR TO THE AREA UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL.

The two previous review are right on it. This place is more like a nursing home, which I wouldn't take my worse enemy to, with a horrible excuse for a hospital attached to it.

The nurses and staff are absolutely incompetent, disrespectful, and inadequate. They could not even take blood or administer IV medication properly. They would take 60-90 minutes to respond to emergency signals from the room and over an hour to administer pain medication. After a week's stay, one of the hospital nurses finally told us to take our daughter to a local university hospital for "more appropriate care."

Now for the facilities. This hospital is dirty, run down, and completely out of date.

Now for the doctors. The doctors are at best described as incompetent, uncaring, disrespectful, and rude. The ones to absolutely avoid are the gastro group, the gyn group, and the "head" surgeon, all of which incorrectly diagnosed my teenage daughter with Crohn's Disease instead of appendicitis. As a result, that nasty appendix sat atop her female organs, completely destroying them and requiring multiple surgeries and resulting in unnecessary emotional and physical pain.

Take our word for it ... DO NOT VISIT THIS HOSPITAL. Your family is too precious.

In their defense, due to the weather conditions, there were several traumas that neede to be attended to before they could see regular patientsa, and this we were made well aware of and kept abreast of. However, I waiting over three hours simply to be put in a room. The nurse who put me in my room was totally rude. I waited another hour to see the doctor for the first time. The doctor and one of the nurses I saw were the only staff members I came into contact with that could pass for decent human beings. My clothing was thrown around blatently to make way for a cart, instead of politely moved or asked to be moved. I was forgotten about for over an hour and a half needlessly. I would avoid this facility if you feel like you should be treated with respect as a pateient. The care I received, although it took way too long, was up to par, though I feel a few more tests could have been run.

Pros: nice ER facility

Cons: exceptionally rude nursing staff

I was at Paulding Hospital recently for a mammogram. They have the new digital equipment installed there
now. Everyone that I encountered at this facility was very pleasant. My only complaint is that I was billed incorrectly, and when I called about it, the person was not exceptionally friendly, and it took writing a letter of complaint to get the billing error corrected. On the up side.... once they recieved the letter of complaint, they rectified the situation. I reccommend this facility, but advise anyone if they are offered a "special price" for early payment, that they should make sure they make note of the person's name that takes their payment in the event of a billing error.

Our family rates this facility a 'zero,' with a suggestion to avoid. The facility is run-down, out-dated, and severely depressing. The care we received was unacceptable and disappointing.

Pros: NONE, NONE, NONE

Cons: RUN-DOWN FACILTY, UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE, DEPRESSING

The doctors in the ER are rude, they rush you, they DO NOT listen, and they act like they don't care. It's like you are taking up their time and they would rather be somewhere else. I must admit the nurses are nice though. I guess they feel they have to make up for the doctors. If I was injured in their parking lot I would still demand to go else where.

Wellstar Paulding is best described as a Nursing Home with an Emergency Room built off the side of it. I had taken my son there due to a clogged tear duct. Waited forever which is to be expected at any ER but what made it worse was it was dirty inside and didn't have a clean feeling to it at all. The staff was nice but I did not feel like the DR listened to what we were saying. Felt he rushed us out.

I recently took a family member to Wellstar to have a mammogram. She was petrified about going but once we got there her mind was set at ease by the wonderful nurses who talked with her and even joked about the process. I would definately recommend this hospital - the staff is incredibly compassionate and funny.
