The OB/Gyn Place

Dr. Prema is really sweet and warm person who puts you at ease right away. I only went to her a couple times, though. I was trying to get pregnant at the time and am older, so she did an ultrasound exam to makes sure my reproductive system was healthy which it was. Then she prescribed clomid fertility drug to me b/c I'm older. It didn't really make sense to me that she would prescribe clomid when I had regular periods and seemed healthy. So I stopped going to her. So on one hand, I thought she had a great bedside manner, but I didn't trust her hasty prescription of clomid for me. Another minus for me was that the nurse or staff person who originally checked me in to the exam room seemed rather casual about sanitary practices when she put her laptop on the examination table as she asked me routine questions to type the info on the computer. I didn't think it was a good idea to have a possibly germy laptop set down on the exam table.

Dr. Prema may be a great doctor, but her office staff is awful. I called on three different ocassions to make appointments and each time was put on hold for in excess of 15 minutes. On top of that, when I finally made an appointment about 5 days in advance, when I called a few days later to confirm they then told me that have to cancel my appointment. Come the day of my revised appointment, I called at around 1:30 to confirm my 2:00 appointment, before I drove all the way to her new Arcadia office and her doctor's exchange answered the phone and said they were closed for Martin Luther King Day. When I called back today to figure out what was going on, they said they were open all day and that I missed my appointment. I tried to explain that their doctors exchange told me they were closed, but I was put on hold again another 15 minutes before I finally decided to find another doctor who was more responsive.

She is absolutely wonderful! Dr.Prema makes you feel so comfortable and works with each patient as an individual. Not a heard of cattle like other female doctors. I would highly recommend her!

Dr. Prema is the most caring, personable doctor I have ever visted. Her acts of "just double checking" with the surgeon, the phone calls over the weekend, and being present during the final ultra-sound, made me feel so well taken care of. I felt like I had my own special doctor, defending my case!
