5 Stars: Huge library (by KUANGCHUNG L.)

Dr Martin Luther King Jr Library is definitely one of the best library in the bay area. They have eight floors and all kinds of books. They also have a lot of computers if you need to access internet. The staffs are friendly and helpful and you can easily find what you need. Sometimes it will be crowded but it is still a great library.

5 Stars: Huge Library (by Nam L.)

This is by far, one of the biggest libraries I have ever seen. They have 8 stories filled with books and computers. They let you rent out laptops on the lower level if you're a struggling college student who lacks funds. They have numerous Dell computers that they let you use, each equipped with an LCD. The librarians are very helpful with your searches and are very friendly. The building is very nice and you wouldn't even be able to tell that it was a library from the outside.

PROS: Great place to study
CONS:

4 Stars: Not bad, but not great (by shen zhi w.)

Being large, it has a huge variety of books but it is somewhat inconvenient to be going up and down to find different books. There are always a lot of people and because it's so big it doesn't give the same feeling a comfort that a smaller library gives. I would recommend the Cupertino Library instead or the De Anza college one - you feel less lost and it feels more intimate and relaxing.

5 Stars: The Absolute Greatest Library (by Nick N.)

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library which is both a part of the San Jose State Library and is also a public library is one of the most up to date and technologically advanced libraries in the entire state. The Library is huge with several different stories each story carrying everything from periodicals on any topic you can think of to pretty much every book ever written.

5 Stars: MLK Jr. Library (by Marie W.)

This library in downtown San Jose is extremely big with eight stories to organize their books. They have escalators and elevators to get you up and down. Inside there is a deli if you are hungry and staff is friendly and so helpful finding everything in such a big library.

They have seven floors of books and more. you can just relax there and read a book or go on the computers. they also have a cafe there just incase you get hungry. it is easy to find the book you're looking for because each floor has something different. there is also a movie area for you to check out movies and a kids area where the kids can hang out and play games. its for the whole family!

5 Stars: MLK jr. Library (by Vivian L.)

This library is located in downtown and it is extremely huge! Parking is a bit hard to find if you don't want to pay for it. I forgot how many stories it is, 9 maybe? or more. Each floor is organized in different sections and stuff like that so it is really easy to find stuff. Their equiptment here is hightech and they maintain this building very well. They have a lot of computers if you need to use the internet. Also, they have a deli in case you get hungry while book hunting. The deli has many delicious food and it has average pricing.

2 Stars: Noisy, couldn't figure out how to use the internet, hard to find things (by Stephanie G.)

I'm not especially fond of this library despite it being a university library. It's very noisy, people are often using the library computers to PLAY GAMES instead of study and they hog the computers from people who might actually need to study or look something up, and its difficult to figure out their card catalogue system.

I would reccomend De Anza's library over this library any day!

PROS: Can eat food in the library, big, wide selection
CONS: Noisy, rude guests, hard to find things

4 Stars: nice large library with about every book you could think of (by Tricia I.)

This is a huge library with an elevator to get to all the floors. I can't remember how many floors there were but my book was on the sixth floor and there were atleast two floors above it. I needed a particular book that wasn't found in any other library. The Santa Clara and Sunnyvale system didn't have it, but the San Jose had four copies. As this is the largest of the San Jose libraries, most of your hard to find books would be at this library.

Parking is a bit hard as it is in the middle of downtown San Jose. Also there are a lot of kids studying in this library and they do make a lot of noise. There is a kids floor and a floor just for studying and request to be quiet at all times. But I think it is hard to enforce this. Come here for the books, but perhaps study at a different library. Also if you're handicapped this tall library might not be ideal. The San Jose system will ship any book to any other library in their system. That might be nicer as the West Valley library is nice and small and easy to get to.

Overall find most books at this library. If you want to find a study place, this might not be ideal. Go to your local starbucks I guess.

2 Stars: New Library (by Sasha N.)

The new King Library located on the corner of the San Jose State University campus, is a comination University/Public library. This is interesting because the public has access to the Univerities library collection. Although this library has a really excellent collection of foreign books, fvideos and music. I don'recommend it for studying. It is another library like the San Francisco Main Library that was built around an open center, so with 8 floors all open to each other the sound really carries. Also most of the floors are filled with screaming children and noisy tour groups and the SJSU students are really unhappy about the early evening closing hours. Some of the peculiar, unique things about this library is that you are allowed to eat in it and there is actually a cafe inside it.
