Belmont park has everything a theme park has, but in a smaller scale. The roller coaster is fun... its only a few bucks. They have carnival games and food. Its a fun day for the family if you are a San Diegan or tourist.

Southern California's Beach Boardwalk

An excellent boardwalk on the beach a smaller scale than Santa Cruz. Tons of food, munchies and rides. There are the usual carnival type rides complete with really good bumper cars. The boardwalk is the home of the Giant Dipper Rollercoaster which is an amazing all wooden track. Nothing like goinfg fo a ride and watching waves crashing on the beach. A must visit.

A mini version of the New York and New Jersey boardwalks, Belmont park is the best boardwalk park around. The rides are for young and old and the games rock. They have a huge pool and section of the park called Pirates Cove for little kids. This is a great place to take your kids because it never is too crowded, and its a lot of fun.

Belmont Park is most fun on summer nights when the balmy breeze comes in from the ocean and you're walking around the broadwalk. It is an carnival like atmosphere and popular with locals and tourists. There's an indoor swimming pool, arcade, shops, bars, carts of food and the famous roller coaster, the Big Dipper.

I love ridding the Giant Dipper Roller coaster at Belmont Park. It is just amazing especially when you ride it at sundown and you can see the sun dipping in the water toward the beach area. Truly an amazing experience. They added a new ride this year called the Beach Blaster which was pretty awesome.

Fun Day at the Beach

You'll have a great afternoon at Belmont Park... it reminds me of an old boardwalk carnival. They've got a roller coaster and other amusement type rides... bumper cars, ferris wheels, etc... they also have a game room and now a computer game room. They've recently added a wave there that you can surf, but I haven't gone on that one (looks tough). This is something that you've got to do if you have guests visiting in town... they'll absolutely love it (even if there are no children)... The prices are not bad at all and if you are really serious about spending some time there you can buy a wristband that gives you unlimited rides. The swimming pool and wavehouse have different costs and I am not aware of them. This is definitely a must do in San Diego... the atmosphere is great!

Aside from the wonderful roller coaster there are quite a few other rides at the park, with low ticket prices. This whole park has a very carnival feel to it, with the food offerings and also the merchants selling goods. There are a couple different good places to eat at the park and you are just steps away from the beach.

spending time at belmont park gives me the feeling of the old amusement parks with boardwalks and such. Belmont is great to spend the day with a date or kids. And you can have a bonfire, go on rides, or just hang out.

Going to this park is a must if you are coming to visit San Diego. Even though this place only have one roller coaster the Giant Dipper but it is totally worth it. Belmont Park is the place to go for children or adult where you can enjoy fun and cool rides. It is the good old days amusement park where a whole family can enjoy.

Overrated and overpriced

The amusent park at belmont park is expensive for the rides that you get. Some of the rides that are there change from time to time and they are not the bg fun rides worth three or four dollars per ride they are silly rides that are overpriced. They also have an arcade type room that is over priced once again. The food on the boardwalk at belmontpark is overpriced too. Parking is free, but since it is next to a beach, finding parking can be difficult at peak times (summers, evenings and weekends). I think there are other places that are a better value.

Belmont park is a waste of time. The only good attraction that it has the roller coaster. Besides the coaster everything is overpriced and rickety. You would have a better time walking fifty feet onto the beach and laying out and enjoying the nice San Diego weather.

This is classic fun, the adults will like it because it will remind them of their childhood vacations and the kids will enjoy it because it's fun. There are rides, the wooden roller coaster is the BEST - the tickets are not too expensive. The food is good - it's just what you'd expect at a fair or carnival - cotton candy, candy apples, funnel cakes - mmmm just smelling it makes your mouth water. There are little shops to browse through. It's a very nice place to spend the afternoon or even the evening after a day at the beach. Parking is usually not too crowded. It isn't however open year around so you might want to check and make sure it's open before you plan your day.

When I came here, I did not expect it to be this bad. The rides were just ordinary and the roller coaster is terribly bumpy. The arcade is absolutely ridiculous because it is like a dollar a game and the only thing you can get with the tickets you earn is licorice. I would rather just entertain myself on the beach

Belmont Park is such a fun place to go for a day. The roller coaster rides are so much fun. Whenever you go there, time just seems to fly by, and since Disneyland isn't anywhere near, this is the next best thing.

The first thing you will notice is the ferris wheel when you arrive to belmont park. It is beautiful at night, when it is lit up. This place is basically a movie style fair, with cotton candy, fun carnival games, and good entertainment. Plus, its next to the beach, so you can enjoy a beautiful ocean view and nice atmosphere while youre there.

Belmont Park is a nice place right next to the beach, but don't go there for the rides, unless your under the age of 12. It makes a nice place for a kids birthday party. Also being right on the beach makes it perfect to do something right afterwards. Go on a hot day so you can jump in the water after all visiting the park.

Belmont Park is a fun seaside amusement park that has many good shops and activities for people of all ages. I think that the Giant Dipper roller coaster is a little shaky, but the food and arcades are good, as are the strolls down the beach. Altogether Belmont park is an inexpensive retreat for the average San Diegan.

ahh yes. belmont park. not many places for good food, but it does provide a carnival-like environment with the addition of the pacific ocean! this place is pretty hip, but it does get dangerous in the parking lot area. lots of intimidating people, i tell ya. but other than that, it's a sweet place to catch a sunset or just to hop on that old rickety-rockety rollercoaster.

Belmont Park is a very popular spot on the coast of San Diego but just to warn you I do not recommend it for young children. The crime rate in the area Belmont Park is in is very high and its not a safe place to have young ones wondering around in. I know this because my relative patrols this area as a police officer and the storys I hear are definetly not comforting

. This is what San diego is all about. Funfilled experiences at beach while enjoying cotton candy and popcorn. The attractions are decent . If you do go to to Belmont Park, you must ride the Giant Dipper, by far the sweetest coaster in San diego. . After enjoying the park you can walk and hit the board walk for a nice moon lit walk with your lover. A fun place for the family.

If you want to ride a decent rollercoaster without driving 200 miles to LA, belmont park is the place to go. Although it is usually incredibly crowded in the summer, if you go on a weekday it makes a nice place to hangout on the boarwalk, beach, or in the grass. There are pretty good waves usually right there at mission beach.

I don't know why people don't like this place. This is what San diego is all about. Carefree experiences at beach while teaching a fatty piece of cotton candy. The attractions are mediocre but what do you expect from Belmont? It's not Santa Monica by any comparison. If you do choose go to to Belmont, you most rust the Giant Dipper, coolest coaster in San diego. Nothing to big or crazy but it's so fun. Then after you are done exploring the park, you can walk a few feet and hit the board walk for a nice stroll. A great place for the family.

A Amusement Park like the old(en) days

Belmont Park has been around for ages, they closed it down for a while, but reopenned sometime in the 70's I believe. It is right on the beach. The Giant Dipper Roller Coaster is right there on the coastline and you can see the Ocean while you are riding it. Through the years they have added all kinds of stuff to it. There are lots of other rides , and the BEST COTTON CANDY. A wrist band is alot cheaper then buying individual tickets for the rides. I have not been back to it since they have really done alot of work to the park in the past 2 years, but from friends have told me there is so much more. I highly recommend the Park, it reminds me kind of like the old Pacific Ocean Park in Venice, Ca
PROS: Lot's of fun and GREAT JUNK FOOD
CONS: Not open all the time in Winter so check website for hours and days of operation
