My cat has been a patient of this hospital since 2007. Dr Z and his staff are very caring, competent and cordial. He always takes the time to explain the medical issues in layman terms and usually gives me several options depending on what needs to be done so I feel comfortable in handling the financial side of it. When times are tough, it's nice to have people who care more about your pet than your pocketbook.

This place is awful. They sedated my puppy with gas for a simple grooming. Who the heck does this? Who practices this type of a grooming technique? I was never notified nor asked if they could do this to my puppy. I would of said "hell,no i am on my way to pick up my pup".
The groomer (Iris) is inexperianced. I ask why would this reputable vet hire a lazy, idiotic, inexperianced groomer who practices lazy techniques? She sedated my 4 month old puppy with some sort of gas. We demanded for these people to give us back our puppy. Once given back he layed motionless, lifeless and sad in our arms. I was so upset, hurt and frustrated that I cried. I hold the doctor accountable for not overseeing such procedures that require special attention. It's his fault for not administering and confirming if Iris called us for approval. She was was not trained well. Also , the receptionist tried to hide the sedation with telling me to return 5 hrs later. This way we would never know the pup was in a sedated state. I was so emotional to see our puppy paralyzed. A simple grooming turned out to be a horrible experiance. I am afraid to take my pup for future grooming at a different establishment because i do not trust anyone. I write this because this was our experiance and a tell all of what happened on Saturday Feb. 26, 2011.
Horrible experiance! Lastly, the brunette receptionist is always mad and unapproachable. humf!

I think all pet owners who really care for their pets fear the words "put down" but we had to put our first dog of 18 years down at this hosp. because she was suffering. she was so strong, never whined or cried at all when she was at home. i really admired her for her strength but we couldn't let her suffer anymore so we put her down. after it was over, I had to pay the bills. doing that duration of paying the bills, i couldnt help but hear the assistant (he helped chk our dog with the doc) whistling a happy tune as he walked past us. Now okay, i get it that its a normal routine for animal hospitals to do the put downs, but to hear this guy whistling while my family & i are crying and trying to pay the bills of our now dead dog. its RUDE. i had to stare at him just to point out that "hey my dogs dead, dont you think what youre doing is rude?" & he stopped. we got a card a week later saying "we are sorry for your loss." it was a nice gesture, but the whistling, it made things more horrible than it already was..

Reasonalby priced, no-nonsense approach animal diagnosis and care. Best-kept secret around for quality + price. We pass numerous 'fancy' offices on our way to this wonderful vet who truly cares about animals and recognizes the real-life aspect of animal care. Our emergency calls are always handled professionally - no rushing to get us off the phone. The staff are compassionate and intelligent, with lots of free advice. Do not hesitate to ask any silly questions, you will be treated with respect.

Dr. Z did surgery on our dog who ended up having cancer. He used good judgement in operating playing it conservitive by not amputating her toe. He explaned to us what to expect, this was not a cancer that would metasitize and was a canser of the tissue. On two other occaisions our dog ate something she shouldn't have, a roach trap which did not require pumping her stomach which saved us a lot of money and another time when she got the crock pot off of the counter and ate the contents. We highly reccomend Duarate Azusa Animal Hopital.

I took my 14 year old cat here for a check up and had a few routine lab test done to make sure everything was ok. I work in the medical field and when you have a test done we will tell the patient "no news is good news" when it comes to the results but if there is an issue or concern we will call the patient right away. Anyway, I never heard back from the office so I assume everything was ok. I took her in again to get groomed and I mentioned that I have never heard back about the lab results and the person helping me said she would look it up for me. I come to find out she has been SUFFERING with severe liver failure! This was the results for a test taken 6 months ago! god knows how much worse off she is now. I already have an appointment with another vet today. If you have already established a good relationship with this vet I certainly hope they give you better attention then what my pet received. I have taken all my pets here and I am now taking them all somewhere else. Even if this is not common in this office, I only have to experience it once to know there is a possibility it can happen again but certainly not to my pets!

Dr. Zabihi spays and neuters rabbits for a reasonable price. He interned in New Market, UK a famous thoroughbred horse area. Very knowlegeable about exotics. Helpful and attentive office staff. They all really seem to love animals.
