Dr. Ken Mak DDS

I did not have a local dentist and someone at work recommended Dr. Mak and Dr. Kleiger's practice. They were full up on appointments but were able to squeeze me in to look at a small chip in one of my teeth.

Rudy in the front office was particularly helpful and they worked very hard to find a time for me so we could get my tooth looked at quickly.

I found everyone very nice and helpful even though they seemed quite busy.

Doctor Max has been my dentist for 8 years and I would not trade him for anyone else. I encountered a non-pleasant experience with another dentist and Doctor Max corrected the problem and saved me from having unnecessary dental work! In addition, years of gum damage had resulted in periodontal diseases. Thanks to Doctor Max, I no longer have this problem.

Like many adults, I revert to child like behavior when it comes to dental work. Prior experiences had left me scared of dentist. Doctor Max is kind, gentle, and highly skilled. I actually look forward to my appointments with him. Many of my co-workers are also patients of Doctor Max and we ALL refer others to him.

I also must give Kudos, to one of the techs, Michelle, whom I ask for every time I need to get my teeth clean. She is the greatest!
If she is not available, do not worry, the entire staff is good.

If you are searching for a fantastic dentist and are afraid of dental work, then search no more. Doctor Max is the person you want.

Dr. Mak is one of the best dentists I've had in my 60+ years, and his dental assistants are intelligent and polite. The high quality of their work more than makes up for an occasional lapse on the part of the front office staff, who at times do seem a bit unprofessional.

I have worked for Dr. Mak and Dr. Kleiger for almost 10 years now. I am VERY PROUD of how all of our dentists treat their patients and their staff. My office manager Dayna, has gone out of her way many times over the years to help accommodate the personal needs and schedules of all of our team members. Dayna has even worked for me several times on her day off so I could put the needs of my children first. I am saddened to see such a hurtful and unfair review about someone who has treated me so kindly. I wonder why a patient that would rate their dental office with 1 star would continue to be a patient at that office. I would certainly not work for an office that treated me the way it was described on the review below.

I MUST Say I have been working for Dr. Mak and Kleiger's office for 4 years. Dayna is GREAT and PASSIONATE of her job. Most of our team members have been with us for many years. HONESTLY!! none of us would LOVE working here if we were treated as described on the last review. She has helped every single one of us in her own speacial way! In all true she is doing her job... and doing it well. We are a busy and professional office. Our DR'S are the best at what they do and thanks to our great team and Dayna, this office is the best i've ever worked for !!! THANKS DAYNA

The office manager yells on the phone and is very unprofessional. I brought this up to Dr. Mak several months ago and nothing has changed. The office staff is ambivalent and acts inconvenienced. I suspect this has something to do with the overbearing Office Manager. She's downright rude on every level. Can't believe nice Dr. Mak allows this woman to to abuse his customers and staff I've seen it first hand and been on the receiving end of this woman's self-absorbed wrath.

I agree about the bad staff. The receptionist is rude, if she'll speak to you at all. The office manager reprimands staff in front of patients in waiting area. Front office staff barely acknowledges you're there.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mak for many, many years. I have never had a complaint about him, and I've even run into him outside the office and he's just as friendly and kind. We even have daughters the sam age, so we relate about that whenever we talk. However, I find that the office staff (or some of them) are becoming rather unpersonable in their interaction with patients. I have ONCE had to reschedule an appointment on the same day and I BEGGED them to waive the "cancellation" fee. They were absolutely adamant, however, and forced me to pay that fee - with absolutely no consideration for the fact that I have never had to cancel before or since. I realize they need to make money, but customer service goes a long way in keeping good clients.

I have to say that I was very surprised when I went online to sing the praises of Dr. Mak & Kleigers office by the last review. I am sure every-ones experience will be somewhat different, but I have to say my experience was GREAT. On my first call I was helped with not only my appointment, but I had questions about my insurance and the receptionist took a lot of time to help me understand my benefits. They did tell me about their policy of a broken appointment, but I understand that policy's like this one whither I like it or not must be necessary to conduct business when dealing with so many appointments. The hygienist was gentle, but I will need to return for further treatment, my fault. 5 years looking for a good dental office has set my dental care behind. I was very happy with the care I received from my first call as well as my first visit. I will be back and finish my recommended treatment and will be recommending the office to my family and friends!

The office staff are terrible, terrible, terrible - they are the absolute worst I have ever experienced. If the dentists were not so great I would definitely make a change. If you can stomach your way paste the evil people at the front desk and on the other end of the phones you will be pleasantly surprised. Too bad the dentists don;t know how bad the front desk staff are.

The office is very particular about the broken appt fee $40. They booked and rescheduled appointment, but didn't treat me when I went. They said my name was on their system and gave another appointment. I was not able to go due to an urgent meeting at work and tried to call them to inform and reschedule my appointment; they were talking only about the $40 fee.

They don't have any answer for not treating me earlier due to their scheduling issues.How can some one book and reschedule the appointment for a person not on the system. When it is their mistake it is fine, when you genuinely called to explain your situation for not showing up on the same day all they care about is money.

The receptionist is very RUDE.

The doctors were very good. My wife liked them. The receptionist/Appt clerk cancelled her appointments and our son's because of my issue.

They are ready to loose a family and their referrals for $40. Not sure the doctors are aware of these issues.

I had my first appointment there today and was taken care of excellently by Dr. Linda Johnston.
The other office staff I met there also gave me a very positive impression.
They were able to take me just 1 or 2 days after I phoned.

I have been going to Dr. Mak and Kleiger for the pass couple years. I couldn't be happier. My 13 years old son had a horrific ordeal with a pediatric dentist. These doctors have made him feel so comfortable and treated him with the kindest hearts. No more hide and seek when I have to take him to the dentist.The front office and all who work here are kind and caring.

I went to Dr. Mak after a bad experience at a different dentist, and I have been extremely pleased with quality of the dental work performed, the efficiency of the office staff, and the way they squeezed me in when I had a bad toothache. I've seen Dr. Mak and a different dentist, and both were excellent.

Dr. Mak is conservative and thoughtful in his approach and I never even felt the novacaine shot.

Found the reviews here and selected Dr. Kleiger as my new dentist, but saw Dr. Mak instead because he had a cancellation. I'm glad I did, he was great.

Mak and Kleiger have an excellent practice, so expect to book your appointments long in advance. They accept United Concordia, an excellent plan whose only flaw is that you have far fewer dentists to select from, but all you need is one good dentist, and I've found several here at Mak and Kleiger.

I have been to see Dr. Yassamy at Dr. Mak's office twice now. She has an excellent demeanor and calming "bedside" manner. I hadn't been to the dentist in many, many years when I went to go see her, and I was very pleased with my experience, even though it was definitely uncomfortable at times. She does her absolute best to make the patient comfortable and is very reassuring (for people like me, who are fearful of the dentist's chair). I highly recommend this dental group -- and they have a beautiful new office on Walnut.

Dr. Mak and his staff have made my dental visits for the past 5 years surprisingly pleasant experiences. They are always friendly, professional and efficient. They keep their appointments and have handled numerous changes to my insurance providers in a low-stress way.

Dr. Mak was awesome. I knew what was going on every step of the way. When he told me something was going to hurt... it hurt. I definitely got the impression that Dr. Mak cares about his patients.

The front office is nice too. Highly recommended.

Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but Dr. Mak and his staff make what would normally be an unpleasant experience very comfortable. Highly recommend him.
