I moved here in Feb 2007 and brought my 4 children in for well checks. I hand delivered all their medical records before our vist. When we arrived for their well check they had lost two of the children's records. They told me it was my responsibility to get records from the old dr. (they can do it for free but refused to do it) For me to do it, it would cost me $25 a piece. In the past two years, I have never been able to see the same dr. twice. I liked several of the Drs. but they didn't know me or my children and had not read our charts. Every time I went in I had to explain my chronically ill child's medical history. One of the doctors I did talk to on more than one occasion seeemed very ill-informed and recommended a test at a lab that can only be performed when admitted to a hospital. I had to do the footwork to figure out how to get the test done with no help from the pediatricians office. I ended up having to get a specialist we see at Children's Hospital get it set up and they were amazed my child's doctor didn't know how to do it. The office staff seems harried and grumpy when I have been there. Overall, I have been very disatisfied and I am currently transferring all my children (two of which have no medical records from 1999- 2007 because Centennial lost them).

I have been going to Centennial Valley Pediatrics for over 10 years. Both kids were born at Avista Hospital and were under the care of CVP doctors. We have never had a bad experience. Shots have always been handled very well. Neither of my children ever cried while receiving them. We have been able to show up at the scheduling desk and get an appointment right away whenever a child was picked up from school ill. The front office staff has always been courteous. Paper work was received when requested last minute. We have seen different doctors on different occasions and do not prefer one over the other. I believe Centennial Valley Pediatrics is a very good choice.

My daughter had been a patient there for two years (2006-2007). Our last office visit was one of the worst experiences of my life and we left the practice after that.
During the visit, the pediatrician was nice, but the nurse who was giving her immunization shots was awful. The nurse walked in without a shred of smile and was already clearly impatient even before we got started. She got someone to hold my daughter really tight and started - literally - throwing shots on her (one on each arms and legs). I requested several times beforehand for her to use shot-blockers, and she agreed to it, but she didn't use them. My daughter still couldn't get over the fact that the nurse lied to her. Throughout the whole process, the nurse didn't show a shred of empathy towards my daughter. Obviously she just wanted to get it over with. Some of the shots caused bleeding and the nurse applied band-aids but they were not put on tight enough. Blood was still trickling down. And the band-aids got caught in the pants when my daughter put back her clothes.
My daughter ended up screaming. I was so upset by this careless nurse! She made a difficult experience (nobody likes shots, especially not 5-yr olds) into a nightmare. I wanted to talk to the office manager to complain about her but never managed to talk to the office manager since she didn't pick up phones and we ended up playing phone tags (she called back once) for weeks. So I ended up transferring my daughter to a different pediatrics office. Centennial Valley Pediatrics faxed me someone else's health record when I asked them to send me a simple transfer form. I can't believe it!
Several months later, my daughter got her remaining shots in a new pediatrics office. What a different experience! The nurse was caring, she used shot blockers, she didn't restraint my daughter during the shots, and everything went so smoothly - my daughter did cry a bit afterwards but only for a minute or two. Nothing compared to the nightmare that she and I had to go through in the Centennial Valley Pediatrics. I'm glad that this is all over - even though I'm still angry with them.

We went in as first time patients when my daughter had what turned out to be an ear infection. They got us in the day we called. I arrived 15 min. early just in hopes of getting back home in time to pick up my other child from school. Not only did we get in on time, but early! They immediately gave me the paperwork and called me in before I even had time to fill it out. The nurse and doctor were both wonderful. I would highly recommend this practice.

I'm relatively new to this practice, but I've been happy with the pediatricians so far! When my daughter was sick, they got me in immediately, which obviously sat well with me! The office staff is very nice, as are the nurses.
PROS: Friendly doctors and staff.
CONS: No sick child entrance.
