They were used! Just because the were enyce Good Lord come on ! At salvation army those would of been the 6 dollar pair!

BARGAINS on High End Designer Clothing

by Princess P.

Many of the clothing items hanging on the racks at the front of the store are way over-priced for used clothing. Really, $12.00 for a pre-owned pair of Old Navy jeans is ridiculous! BUT you CAN FIND excellent bargains on high end designer clothing items. Apparently the employee's are ignorant when it comes to pricing these things. Which is a good thing for me, hehehe. A $1200 Claude Montana suit for $7.99 is an absolute BARGAIN! Oh yeah! I'm heading out there this afternoon! And unlike the Salvation Army stores, Value World is open on Sunday's! Yippie! BTW, I checked their website valueworld.net and there were NO COUPONS ANYWHERE. Bummer!

This is the most ridiculous store. You can't find coupons, the clerks aren't allowed to tell you how to find coupons, I'll take my business elsewhere

Value World is in need of better prices

by Rosalind V.

This is a resale shop with prices that are so high, I shop somewhere else now, like AJ Wright or JC Penney's. T-shirts cost $4 why? It is an outrage. Everyone should shop around for better bargains. The store in westland have the rudeness and most unfriendly staff.

Coupon help

by jeannette a.

Where in the Eastpointe/Roseville area would I find a coupon? I've been checking the Eastsider paper as well as mailers with no luck. :( The last time I was there a nice gal gave me one saying she had an extra. I was too surprised to remember to ask her where she found them.

Great Place to Shop (if you know how to look)

by Farna M.

I always check for flaws with zippers and buttons. Check for uneven heels on shoes, armpit stains, mismatches in sizes for two- or three-piece ensembles. Most of all check the crotch! Trust me on this one....

Great Place to Bargain Shop

by Kris M.

I frequently go the this store and always find great buys. They often have designer items and I can tend to be a "tag Hag". I purchase my children clothing and my daughter loves being able to find designer items and trendy items. You can really save and it just makes sense as our children grow so fast.
I recommend just taking a day and seeing what they have. I promise it is addictive as you will continue to search for that "best priced" item

Absolutely Love this Place !!!!

by Ruth W.

Once a month I drive all the way from Whitmore Lake, Mi. Absolutely love this place! It is so organized, I always have loads of fun and I save money without a coupon cause I'm not from around there anymore to get one:( You people out there are so spoiled, you don't even know how good you have it. The resale shops out here would horrified you, they're old, very pricey, and very unorganized. It takes lot of work to keep a store that size clean and straight, especially when you let your kids go wild in their toy department and through out the rest of the store annoying serious shoppers. I got a $130.00 pair of BEBE Jeans for like 8 bucks. I went there on Saturday and I'm going back on Tuesday for a shirt I cant stop thinking about. I myself never spend less than 2 hours in the store saving loads of cash. So shut up go shopping and have some fun!!!

security

by Laura D.

i like value world. i read the review on the westland location from the lady that was appalled by their security personnel. I work in retail at a high end store, the theft is phenomenal, we had a mother and daughter steel over 2000.00 of merchandise one morning, we caught them, but we also have cameras. I'm an honest person too. So if I'm stopped by security, I'm more than happy to assist them and thank them for doing their job. Their only human and with no cameras, their doing their best. Be glad they are there. As for the foul language of the employees, That life, it's now the norm of the English language, I don't like it but I just ignore it now. I use to be upauled, but its the way it is now. The f- word is just a slang now, and not used in the way it was years ago. As for the what Value World does with their profits, I don't care. They have good deals and EMPLOY PEOPLE. Even if at min. wage.

HORRIBLE !!!

by Jackie G.

I went to Value World, Westland on my day off during national voting day. I always go to the Ecorse store, but decided to stop by this location, as I wanted to go to the Sprint store out there, anyway, I went in an noticed a sign that mentioned about shoplifters. I didn't pay it much attention as I wasn't a shoplifter and proceeded to browse the store. My phone went off while I was in the store I usually keep it in my purse like other women do. Anyway, I looked to see who called and put it back and proceeded to browse. I tried on a few coats and went to housewares, since I ALWAYS purchase my houseware items from Value World. I rarely buy clothing, but it was my day off and I was just looking. Anway, I put a pot in my basket and proceeded to the check out, once I completed my purchase and headed to the door. I was stopped by this woman, who held her hand up. I was startled - then another woman came up and informed me that because I had a large purse, which I've always carried a large purse. It's isn't a carry on or anything. She said they store detective said I put something into my purse and that they HAD to search my bag. I was humiliated. HOW COULD THEY! There wasn't but 10 people (shoppers) in the WHOLE STORE!!! Anyway, I WILL NEVER SHOP VALUE WORLD AGAIN!!! You would think - that they would have to have proof via camera or something. They ONLY HAVE TO SUSPECT you of stealing before they stop you. Think before going to this location!! PLZ - DON'T LET YOU SELF BE HUMILIATED LIKE I WAS AT THIS STORE!

I love Value World but.......

by Caroline R.

I went into Value World last week and was asked if I had the 50% off coupon, I didn't know anything about coupons, I also have several other friends that shop at Value World and they did not know about the coupon either. Since I was spending $100.00 I was very disappointed to know I could have gotten 50% off. Maybe Value World should consider having specials on certain days like Salvation Army does. Then all their customers would be treated the same even if they do not have a coupon! My friends said they would have walked out and not made the purchase at all if it had been them!!

value world is a scam

by Anonymous

Purple heart owns value world!! I know as a fact i use to work for both. Basically they take your free donations and sell them at a ridiculous price. Then purple heart tells the people who are donating items that they have a contract with value world and they pay by the weight of items which is not true!!! So basically they are all profit and they don't even pay employees that well. The place is a scam and they aren't helping anyone but themselves.

good place for used

by Steven S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,686

What can i say most used stores have a smell to them and so does this one and the one in taylor does too. I found some really good shape stuff and some really worn out stuff. I have never seen anything like vcrs, tv. furniture at all. They have more clothes than anything. The prices are cheap and on the kids end they are cheaper than used kids stores.

great used clothes

by Debbie S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,347

I love this place. I can go here and get name brand clothes for 1/4 of the cost at the store. All you have to do is check for holes, stains, and messed up zippers. I go her often for play clothes for my son and myself. I get alot of my husbands work clothes here. We went this summer and got summer clothes and I ended up with 75.00 worth of clothes and I used a coupon that was in the phone book and got all clothes 1/2 off. So I really save a bunch. They also have other things not just clothes. Pictures, shoes, toys, books electronics. This is a used clothing store but some of the items still have the tags on them.

Who doesn't like a little thrifting?

by rob c. | insider Insider | Rank: 22,495

Well, this Value World isn't near me, the Lincoln Park one is, but that's not on here, so I figured I'd rate this... but anyways, Value World never did any harm. I like the thrift shops because you can find some really cool shirts that you'd never find anywhere else or maybe even expect to exist and they're only about 2 or 3 bucks. Can't beat it.

Consignment Shop

by Rita D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,521

Value World is one of the consignment stores in the westland area. Like any other consignment stores go you are never sure about the kind of stuff you'll find there. Though they always have clothes and shoes and jackets other stuff like a used TV or tennis rackets are not frequent. Also, there is this musty smell when you enter the store but the store is large and spacious and things are not cluttered around. Prices are dirt cheap.
