very unprofessional, made no effort to rectify a miscommunication about Vet records, turned us away after hassle of rescheduling appointment. Do not seem to appreciate their customers, apparently have more business than they can handle.

Pros: did a good job the first time

Cons: canceled appointments, very bad communication,

In the 3 or so years I used PetSmart's grooming service for my cats, I haven't had a single experience I would call entirely satisfactory. I have been treated rudely by many inexperienced, ill-trained and completely unconcerned employees. It has been made very clear that my business is meaningless to them, my schedule is not their concern, and any questions I have are really way to much trouble for them to consider.

They were horrid to me for the last time a week ago. I called to schedule summer do's for my 2 boys, and spoke to a clueless and snotty young woman. She informed me that one of my cats was past due on his rabies (not true, just not on record with them), rather than simply asking if I could bring his current certificate. I told her I would bring it with me. She then put me on hold for so long that their phone system cycled me in as a new call, which was answered by a different clueless and snotty young woman. When we began to try to work out an appointment time, she put me on hold, this time until the system dropped the call. When I called back, I was informed that the one person they have that can handle cats was only available on certain days, and that the first time I could bring the boys in without taking time off work would be two weeks out. They couldn't deal with having them dropped off in the morning and kept until I could get off work. Apparently they don't have the kennel facilities to keep cats comfortable beyond 4 hours. (Odd for a place that has cats living there 24/7, no?)

The thing that really chaps my hide is not that they couldn't accommodate my needs, but the attitude behind it. No apologetic tone, no hint of concern for the problem I was trying to solve, no sense that I was anything but an irritation to them. Over the course of years I only had one occasion where a staff member passed a pleasant word with me - and most times were just as unpleasant as this one. I don't need this, and I definitely won't be back. And I'm quite certain they don't care.

I suspect that PetSmart's strategy, at least in the GroomShop, is to hire mostly people straight out of high school, pay them as little as the law allows, and treat them like dirt. Who cares if they pass that mistreatment on to customers? They have name recognition, many huge locations and a massive ad budget. If they tick me off for the last time, some other poor slob will take my place.

I'm glad to be finished with them.

I have two gentle standard sized Goldendoodles. I have taken them to all three Petsmarts in Beaverton to be groomed and have had wildly different experiences and charges for the same services. Prices aren't posted so be specific on what you are getting and what the total cost will be.
My last experience was yesterday at the new Petsmart on 185th. Upon checking in, my girls were happy and excited to be there. (They stay at the Hotel often) The girl checking them in imposed her gruff personality on my girls. She told them to "sit" and the younger one did right away. The older one was trying, but she has hip dysplasia and it takes her longer to sit. The girl yelled at them to both "SIT" again and this frightened the younger one that was sitting and who is always eager to please. This caused her to cower and urinated all over the place. I told the girl they respond quickly and do better when they aren't being spoken to in a harsh tone that is not warranted. She admitted to being overly gruff at times.
My younger doodle was so scared she pulled herself in to a corner and curled up shaking wildly. I decided to take them away and talk to the manager.
For the most part they do a good grooming job, but if you take your dog and they shake and are too afraid, it's time to take your grooming dollars elsewhere.

I like this store over all, BUT I maily go thier for fish and fish help and/or items. Since i am new at owening a full tank with frogs, fish and more, Ihave to ask questions. Almost everytime I have gone, I have had to go to the check out lanes and ask them to call some one for me. Only once has someone come with the first call. Many times I have had to go back and ask them to call someone again.

PROS: Nice selection of almost everything
CONS: Not enogh help

I took my Yorkie puppy in for grooming the other week. They have an excellent package for only $14.95. They clip the puppy's nails free the first time. You can drop-in for a visit as appointments are not necessary. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and managed to get in with no waiting.
