Great place to watch sunsets

by E. S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,926

Golden Gardens is one of the best places to watch sunsets and relax on the beach. The best kept secret about the park is the ability to see tons of ocean life. On the long pier south of the park, there are many starfish, sun stars and anemones attached to the pier, look down when you walk out on the pier and you will be amazed. It is also a popular place to go crabbing. Every once in a while you can even see sea lions swimming out past the break.

PROS: lots of parking
CONS:

Fun on the beach at Golden Gardens...

by Elizabeth O. | insider Insider | Rank: 15,343

Picnics, barbecues, and a walk on the beach!

While the water is cold and I wouldn't recommend swimming, I DO recommend bringing the kids, dogs, and picnic basket for a day of fun at the beach..............Weather permitting of course!

Excellent place for BBQ at night!

by Sara G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,061

I love Golden Gardens! Aside from it being a gorgeous beach to go to during the day, it is a fun plce to hang out at night. On weekend nights, a pretty largecrowd of people get together around the numerous campfire grills the park has to cook food. It's a great way to get some fresh air and socialize with a few buddies. Just don't bring liquor, the cops make rounds.

PROS: Lovely beach, freecampfire grills to use, fresh air.
CONS: Can get crowded on weekends.

An actual beach in the Seattle area!

by Stephanie S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,388

Golden Gardens is a wonderful park. I love how it has a true sandy beach that is great for strolling with friends or a loved one. They also have a new bathhouse that is very inexpensive to rent! There is a campground close by. Parking can be tough on busy summer days. This beach also allows campfires in pits! Go and check it out!

Quite and a wonderful view

by Nate S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,977

A nice place to stroll with a great musuem and garden. This is one of my favorite places to smell the flowers. It has a great glass garden with all kinds of great tropical plants to excite your nose. The tower on the west end of the park offers a great view of the city and sunset.
