Edwards Valencia Grand Palace Theater

Generally a clean, decently decorated theater. The sound system is good and the screens are fairly standard except for the IMAX screen which is of course larger than normal.

I don't like watching most movies on the IMAX screen, but anything with really great visual effects is interesting to watch on the IMAX screen. However, I sit farther back in the IMAX theater than I would in a normal theater, otherwise I find it difficult to watch the whole screen and I have to crane my head farther back than normal which gets uncomfortable after a while.

Edwards has the Regal Crown Club, which is a good deal if you go to movie more than about 1/month. You build up points as you attend movies and get free popcorn and otehr gifts as you go higher and higher in points. You also can get e-mail with special offers.

I have only 2 quibbles: 1.) the area outside the theater is so packed on Friday nights and weekends that sometimes you can barely move through the crowd. 2.) I really liked the automated ticket vending machines - they saved a ton of time waiting in line to get tickets, but they were often broken and now they don't seem to be operating them. I'd love to see them come back, but be more reliable.

The only reason that I can't give Edwards Valencia 5 stars is because the sound on their movies is too loud. It seems like at their theater louder = better. But when they turn the volume down, the movies are great. We love the i-max theater. It's a nice place to visit. On a weekend, buy tickets early because they sell out quickly. It's conveniently located in Town Center.

Edwards Valencia is a very clean, employee friendly theater. We had received from one free ticket from Albertson's and printed our order online. When we went to the theater they didn't have any record of our purchase. Instead of blowing us off the theater manager took our word and let us in. We had the receipt but we were supposed to bring our credit card to verify. I always have a good experience when I go to this theater.

PROS: clean and employee friendly
CONS: Can't think of any cons - long lines at times

The theater is nestled between a couple of restaurants, an ice cream shop, an arcade, and a bookstore. So you can buy your tickets and then grab something to eat or entertain yourself at the arcade or book store. The theaters are always clean and the staff is friendly. They do their best to ensure that you are going to enjoy your show while you are there.
