Pueblo peds. which is now owned by EVP has become a joke. Dr. Chiles and Salek know what they are doing as doctors, but EVP will cause me to find new pediatricians.

Don't waste your time! Go somewhere where people care about your time and health and children! Went there and waited over an hour and a half. Then waited more in the other room. The staff was trained in some place that has no clue on how to treat patients. My recommendation: NO!

I took my two children to Dr. Werther as infants. He is an AWESOME doctor! He is very thorough, answers all questions, and gives all kinds of notes to take home -- even more than the printout from EVP. When I moved to Gold Canyon, I thought I would try another doctor closer by my new home. Even though the new doctor, Dr. Rios at Happy Kids, seemed to be a good doctor and had a great bedside manner, he was a disappointment compared to Dr. Werther. Dr. Werther was so great with me as a new mom. He gave me feeding schedules, tips on diaper rash, and everything. When my kids were exposed to MRSA and I thought my daughter possibly had it, I trusted Dr. Werther so much I took her to see him instead of the closer doctor because I knew he would answer all my questions and be thorough in his exam.

One thing I like about EVP in general is that they schedule the next well child checkups when you leave the current one. So, I always know when I need to bring in my kids. Happy Kids Pediatrics did not do that, so I finally called to see if my daughter needed an 18 months checkup, and sure enough she did. At EVP, it would have been scheduled at the end of the 12 month checkup.

My one complaint with East Valley is the bililng department. I have a high deductible insurance plan that completely covers all well child checkups. I have to pay when my kids are sick. Twice I had to argue with the staff and insist they were wrong when they tried to bill me for well child. Once they even suggested I just sign a form so the state would pay for the immunizations becuase that would have been easier for them than calling my insurance. That offended me greatly because I am not a welfare case; the insurance covered it, they were just too lazy to call.

Some of the front desk ladies have been cranky and rude, too. However, the nurses for Dr. Werther are very nice and responded to kids well.

In sum, Dr. Werther is a FANTASTIC doctor, especially for a new mother. Just be sure you know your insurance plan well because the billing staff at EVP will mess it up out of laziness.

I absolutely LOVE our doctor Maggie Keane. She is phenomenal.. The only reason we are staying here is because I trust her with my kids and know she has their best interest at heart. If I could avoid the front office staff every time I called or came in, I'd do so and be a much happier patient. They are short, rude, unapologetic, insensitive and honestly not much help any time I have been in. The care we receive from the doctor is what is keeping us at this office.

To be honest, the only reason that we bring our kids here is because we absolutely LOVE Dr. Werther. He is great at explaining things and always sends notes home if my husband has to bring the kids to the Doctor since he knows that daddys tend to forget some of the details...haha.

That being said, the office staff is absolutely horrible! If you are an employer and you want to show your staff how NOT to behave at work...bring them to EVP in Gilbert (on baseline). You can even just have them call, because the people on the phone are even worse! I have worked in medical offices before and would never dream of treating people the way that they treat me and my family. I made an appointment today and the girl I spoke with was rude and indifferent. My 22 mo old son got hurt and started crying loudly while I was on the phone making my appointment and she became extremely annoyed and kept repeating in an irritated, rude tone, "I can't hear you over that SCREAMING!" I apologized and explained that my son had gotten hurt and I would give him his pacifier so that we could continue scheduling the appointment...she continued to sound annoyed and impatient.

This is just an example, but in addition to this unprofessional and irritating phone conversation, the front desk staff is very rude and unprofessional and like to socialize and have inappropriate discussions at the front desk. Also, while being led to an exam room, most of the medical assistants will walk very quickly ahead of us while I am trying to catch up with my 2 young kids, infant seats, diaper bags, my purse and the millions of other things that moms carry around for their kids. Very rarely has someone slowed down so that I could catch up, much less offer to help me carry anything.

The staff is just seriously ignorant and/or clueless when it comes to common courtesy and good customer service.

On the plus side, I spoke with Sue (the office manager) today and reported the issues that I have been having. She was very nice and understanding on the phone and assured me that these issues would be dealt with...I sure hope so because I don't know how much longer I am willing to put up with it and I would hate to lose an excellent Doctor like Dr. Werther!

I have been a Foster parent in the east valley for many years(75 children) and have been seeing Kelly Garland and Kendra Hall for more than 10 years. I live in east Mesa and now travel into Queen Creek so our son can see one of these wonderful caregivers. On most occasions he sees Kelly, he absolutely loves her, even on shot days. We are always confident we will get the best care. Kelly is very knowledgeable about childhood illnesses and treats with caution. I never feel it is a "lets just pump the kid with antibiotics" and he will get well attitude.
I would highly recommend this office.

We have been going to EV Pediatrics - Dr. Garner for close to 9 years. The wait time has always been incredibly long, but thought Dr. Garner was nice and fairly good, so stuck with them. This year, February, my child felt a "marble" in his chest, so I called to schedule an appointment. The scheduler told me it was close to time for my child's well check, and asked if I wanted to just schedule the well check, and discuss the issue with Dr. Garner at that time. I agreed and took my son in. After a long wait, we were seen, and told that since my son hadn't turned 11 yet, they couldn't give him his shots, that I would have to come back after his 11th birthday for his shots. I called in March to schedule an appt for his shots, waited and he got his shots...

I am now getting billed $120 for one of the visits, due to the fact that the billing dept billed my insurance for TWO Well Checks for the same child. I called and spoke with the Billing Supervisor and was told I owe the money, she was very rude. I then called the insurance company, and was told that the office needed to merely resubmit the claim with a different code, and it would be paid.

Today I called, to schedule a sports physical, and again see Dr. Garner about the "marble" in my child's chest, and was told I couldn't schedule an appointment until I spoke with the billing department. I was transferred to Billing, told the young lady the situation, and was put on hold for over 15 minutes, while she spoke to the Billing Supervisor. After the wait, I was told that the Supervisor recalled talking to me, and that the Dr. said the charges were valid, and that there was nothing they would do, that I owe the money. I am not denying the charges, however, the billing supervisor should know her job, and know that the coding was incorrect in the beginning, and resubit the claim.

The recorded message I heard for over 15 minutes states how important the patients are, and how they want satisfied customers to refer them to others. I have been in customer service for over 30 years, and know you must listen to the customer and follow up, doing whatever in your power to assist the customer. This did not happen. I am appauled, disappointed and very dissatisfied at how unprofessional this office handled the situation. I am also disappointed that the doctor didn't think more of the my family after almost 9 years. It is obvious that there are major issues with this company. If they are willing to lose patients over a mere billing issue that is easily resolved, I would strongly suggest no one choose this practice. $120 vs. health care for two long time patients. Hmm, the $$ won! SAD!!!

I recently moved to Gilbert and decided to find a pediatrician closer to my home-we were with Drs. Patel and Lucherini who are great doctors. We started out and East Valley with Dr. Hall after a referral from a friend. I was not impressed with her at all but I wanted to give her a chance. After 4 months of my daughter having the same problem we were referred to Dr. Werther by a friend. He had an answer for my daughter issues-he diagnosed it properly, he gave us a plan, called and checked on her over the weekend, he was kind, he paid attention to details when hearing what we had been through, was really good with my daughter, and I was really impressed. You could tell he really cared about my daughter. My daughter loved the dog at his office. Yes, you do have to wait but it is so worth it to have a doctor who gets things right the first time!!!!
I totally disagree with the previous statements about his temper, he did a rectal exam and was really careful about it-I was impressed.
I highly recommend Dr. Werther!!!!!!

I found the Dr's to be very knowledgable... However, the front desk staff needs to learn the difference between professional and rude. I would have a hard time recommending that experiance to anyone.

We have been seeing Dr. Hayden for over 14 years and my boys LOVE him. He on more than one occasion taken care of them in high-level stressful situations and been a calming influence on both my husband and myself. I have recommended him numerous times to family and friends. Would not dream of taking my boys to any other doctor.

Dr. Amin-Chapman and Dr. Joel Hayden are wonderful and even though the Front Office is horrible and the scheduler is sooo slow the GOOD parts are the Amin and Hayden are amazing and the night nurse does call you back and addresses all of your issues that you may feel is an 'emergancy', and they do accomidate you if you have a sick child and I have always gotten appointments within an hour! The Front Office needs to be retrained or replaced I have complained about never getting a call for the H1N1 vaccine when my son was on a waiting list, and the Sick kids are never told to stay in the Sick waiting room...The Baywood office is alot better about that and the staff is better but I don't know the Docors. My son is 13 and has been going to Amin and Hayden since he was 4, all of the kids in our family go to them.

I must say that I was very disappointed with East Valley Pediatrics (Only the Queen Creek location). I had an appt and called to confirm the day before and was told Dr. Hall was out of town for a week.. OK< was I going to receive a call, apparently not, since I called 10 minutes before the office closed!!.. The reason I called to verify was because two weeks prior, I received a call the day of my son's appt to say she needed to reschedule.. In fact, it was a few hrs before, which was unacceptable since I had scheduled to take a few hrs off at work to get there. But what can you do... This was an important follow up apt. Despite all the confusion, I stayed with East valley pediatrics but found a new Dr..Her name is Dr. Hari and she is in Chandler (New office).. She is amazing.. The QC location should hire a new office manager/office staff b/c Dr. Hall is loosing patients from not having a functioning staff... Or maybe she doesnt care about loosing patients...

** I LOVE EAST VALLEY PEDIATRICS!!**
We started going to East Valley Pediatrics 10 years ago with our first~ the doctors were so caring and spent a lot of time with us! Now they have several locations AND an After Hours Clinics~ so I NEVER have to wait long for an appointment. If our regular doctor is not available, we can see one on the many doctors there! We have had good experiences with all of them! We can even see a doctor in the evenings and on the weekends~ this is SO great because we do not have to go to an Urgent Care or the Emergency Department! THAT is a wobderful thing! I would HIGHLY recommend all of the docs at East Valley Pediatrics! My children LOVE them and so do I! Thank you for always being there for us!! You are the best!!!

The appointment setters are the rudest people I have ever talked to in my entire life. every single time i call they act like i am a complete idiot and they sit there and act like complete bitches, they are rude and just completely horrible to speak with. every time i get off the phone with them i am angry the rest of the day. The front desk people are not any better either. the only reason we still go there is our insurance, we will definitely not go back once we have new insurance.

Dr filler is a wonderful pediatrician who has been so amazing with my newborn son. I got an appointment with her after I couldn't get my son into see dr werther, who was my 3year old daughter's pediatrician. after seeing dr filler, i switched my daughter to her as well. not that dr werther is a bad doc, he was very thorough, and wrote everything down for me, however, i do agree with the other reviewers when they say that he is not the friendliest person. Dr Filler has taken so much time to understand everything that is going on with my children. she has had her assistants call me at home to follow up even when i didn't make an appointment. she has also called me from her home on a friday (she doesn't work fridays) to go over results of tests that my son had done. I would recomend her to anyone. Also, I had to take my son to see doctor Hardi one friday, because i requested a same day appointment, and as i said filler doesn't work fridays. Dr. Hardi was wonderful as well. very friendly, easy going and thorough. All 3 doctors I have seen at East Valley Peds have been genuinly concered for my childrens well being and have taken the time to ask and answer tons of questions without rushing me at all or getting impatient.
I will say about the front office, they are a bit unnorganized one time one lady was so worried about her lunch break i waited about 10 minutes while she rambled about when she could go, before she even checked me in. also, checking out, i had to wait one time for 20 MINUTES because there was only one lady there, and she was on the phone with an irrate parent. how about another person to help with answering phones and checking people out!?
As for wait times I have waited up to an hour for an appointment, but i understand this because i have been in the room with dr filler for about an hour while she does a thorough check of my baby. I have also gotten in within 5 minutes of getting there. I think it all depends on the other patients and how long it takes them with the doc.

Dr Werther is EXCELLANT!! He is the best Doctor i've ever come across. He is very wise and skilled. He has taught me so much about keeping my kids healthy. He listens well and he explains things very clearly and follows up every time. He has brought things to my attention that were missed by other Doctors. I have 5 kids (2teenage girls,1 teen boy and a 8 and 10year old)and they all REALLY like him and feel comfortable with him. He is kind, gentle and has a funny and charming way about him and he genuinly cares about his patients. I feel confident in him and I wish he could be MY doctor too! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EAST VALLEY PEDIATRICS AND ESPECIALLY DR. JOSEPH WERTHER!!!

We just moved from Scottsdale (Scottsdale Pediatrics) to Gilbert and needed to find a new Dr. for our 2 year old. My daughter is very weary of men so when I made an appointment with a male Dr., I slapped my forehead thinking she'd never go to him. However, when Dr. Werther came in it only took her a minute or two to completely warm up to him. He has a great bedside manner and a real way with children (after working with children professionally for many years myself, it's easy to tell who has it and who doesn't- Dr. Werther has it). I took her in on her first visit because she was having a hard time sleeping and kept poking at her ear, and although she didn't have a fever, I was worried about a possible ear infection. Dr. Werther said her ear was not infected, but was a little red and tested her inner ear pressure. I had never seen this done before and my daughter had been to Scottsdale Pediatrics many times due to her ears (and we loved them also). He found the pressure to be high so he gave us some drops for her ear. After a day of the drops, she was much better.

When the staff took my daughter's temp at the last visit, the nurse claimed it was only 100 degrees. Since I had just taken it before we left the house and it was 103.2 then, I asked them to retake it. Dr. Werther had no problem asking the nurse to come back in and retake her temp (which then showed it as 102.9). Most Dr's would just take their nurse's word for it.

Dr. Werther is also great at taking the time to explain what is happening with your child, why it's happening, and how you can prevent it in the future. Overall a great pediatrician who I will recommend in the future.

(The reason I only gave 4 out of 5 stars is because the staff seems a little too "busy" to be personal and polite)

In the 4.5 years we went to EV Peds. we saw 4 doctors, because one would leave for some reason or another. Our favorite was Dr. Garland, although she left the Gilbert office. The others were not that friendly. The office always seemed a little dirty and unprofessionally ran. The wait to get through on the phone sometimes ran longer than 10 minutes. The office staff was generally unhelpful and rude. We have since changed to a different pediatrician, and are much happier. I would not recommend them!!

Our son is turning 3. We started seeing Dr. Werther before he was 1. Although like other reviewer said, Dr. Werther can be kind of scary at 1st(we didn't recall him smile too much when we 1st.saw him), but that doesn't prevent us from believing that he's a good dr.For almost 2 yrs, Dr. Werther has consistently presented to us as a very professional, knowledgeable, competent, compassionate and caring physician. He's always there for us whenever we need to see him in person or speak to him over the phone. He explains things very clearly, his exam is always thorough. Like other reviewer mentioned, we like him the way he writes things down. We find it extremely helpful with our son's care(it's hard to remember everthing someone told you in the office. And it only takes a good physician who cares to take the time to write things down word by word). We went to the after hr. service one time. Although the female dr. there was very nice and friedly, we know we won't give her a 5 star. To us, a nice dr. & a great dr. are two different things. I would rather my son's dr. to be direct, maybe even abrupt as to some people as long as he can diagnose & treat our son well, rather than someone who's just simply nice or friedly. It's our greatest wish that our son can have Dr. Werther as his pediatrician as long as he practises, for otherwise, we know it won't be easy to find another great pediatrician that we can always trust/count on.

I loved my experience with Dr Werther! He was thorough, went over all of our questions, and my daughter loved him. I called once to cancel an appointment because we weren't able to make it and he called me that same day to make sure my daughter was ok, asking if I had any questions he could answer over the phone. It was a great courtesy to us, and I felt like he really cared genuinely about my daughter's well being!

I started out at Mesa Pediatrics. I loved the doctors in the hospital. I was very disappointed that I never saw the same doctor. The office felt very mechanical and electronic. I mean each doctor was reading the stats off a laptop.
So I switched my daughter to East Valley Pediatrics, I chose Dr Hall. I love that I see her every visit. The office is small and I have never had any long waits. She is very understanding about my vaccine worries and explains things well. I would recommend her to anyone.
Only down is she talks really fast. Sometimes I have to have her repeat things.

I have been using EV Peds. for 6yrs now.I started out with Dr. Kronborg and after 3yrs of her being too busy to actually answer my questions and mis-diagnosed my oldest daughter and having to deal with 1-3hr wait times, I switched drs.I now see DR. England. she is so compassionate and listens to all my concerns/questions. I rarely have to wait 2mins before we are called back. She is never in a hurry to rush out of the room with me and has even look at my other kids even though they didn't have appointments (something DR. Kronborg refused to do). Dr. England is very through.. Her staff is friendly as well and seem to be organized. When calling in for a sick appt. I have always been able to get in that same day and given a few different times to choose from.I have also seen Dr.Jacobs when Dr. England was out and I must say I was very impressed with him as well. The only thing that needs improvement with EV Peds is the switchboard when you call in. I don't have the direct number to Englands office and sometimes it does make it difficult to get thru.

East Valley Pediatrics: Doctor Werther, Was abrupt, rude, pushy, and just plain gross. He did a yearly exam on my son and felt his privates and then licked both his hands. No gloves No washing No Manners at all. How gross and eerie. What was he thinking? Maybe I don't want to know. Good thing I made sure my son had no idea what was going on. I will not ever go back. Please
reconsider seeing this man. He is close to pornographic.

Dr. Werther mis-diagnosed my son AND daughter. My newborn son was screaming for more than three hours at a time his first week of life. We took him in to see Dr. Werther and all he did was look up sons butt and diagnosed him as having a milk-protein allergy. He didn't do a stool sample, blood test, or anything! He then told me to put my son on a MILK-BASED FORMULA for gassy babies!! My son really did have a milk-protein allergy, so the screaming continued. I finally switched to a milk, soy, and lactose free formula on my OWN and found a new doctor. He also just kept telling me that my sons consitpation (as a new born) was no big deal and that he had to give his daughter sepositories EVERY DAY for her first entire YEAR of life. First of all, according to EVERY other doctor I asked, you should not do that because a child's body will become dependent, and second, the consitpation was a side effect of the milk-protein allergy and was a VERY BIG deal.

He also mis-diagnosed my two-year old with chronic constipation. Again, all he did was look up her butt. She doesn't have chronic constipation according to our new doctor and our Gastroenterologist at Phoenix Children's hospital.

I would NEVER recommend this doctor.

We love Dr Kronberg she is very good with all of our kids. We have preemie twins and a 18month old and she is always wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and always answers all our questions thoroughly. I would definitely recommend her!!!! We have been to about 4 different doctors offices with our 18 month old and have had some that are ghetto and others that are okay but no one compares to her.

I am the proud father of four children, and one of the hardest duties of being a parent is the dreaded doctor's visits. Finding an pediatric doctor that has a good staff, as well as keeping your child's best interests in mind, is a hard combo to find. Usually you suffer through long waits, hurried visits, inconsistent experiences, and an overall feeling that "this is as good as it gets".
We head of EV Peds by word of mouth, and after the first visit I was impressed enough (and fed up with my kid's doctor) that I switched them to Dr. Werther as their primary care. I've found that usually a ped doctor will do just enough to impress you when you're a new patient, and once you switch they stop striving to go that extra mile, let alone a foot.
Such is not the case with Dr. Werther.
First off, it sounds like some of the reviewers don't know he's originally from New York and practiced for years there. He doesn't have an attitude, it just appears some reviewers haven't interacted with anyone from there.
Secondly, he is thorough. Every visit any one of my kids has he answers questions, discusses issues, gives a good perspective, and is conservative in treatment unless there is direct cause to show otherwise. I've challenged him on only a few things, and I've found he listens and discusses. When I need clarification or a phone call, he obliges.
Last of all, the front office does have a feeling of disorginization. I can deal with the wait times-it ebbs and flows-because the world doesn't revolve around me, my children, or our problems that have us in the doctor's office. When I need a same-day appointment, they have them. When I have a well-child appointment, they are thorough.
Everything else is minimal in impact on me or my kids so long as Dr. Werther remains the great doctor who treats my kids.

As a note, this office has a healthy and a sick child separation. I'd appreciate it if people would be considerate (not just in this particular office, but overall) and not bring your sick child into the well side. In this office, both sides have TVs, games, and things to amuse the children.

We have seen Dr. Werther 3 times for our baby girl. She is our third child and we have been to several pediatricians since moving to the valley.

Our Previous pediatric clinic was Mesa Pediatrics. Here is how they compare:

Facilities:

Advantage goes to Mesa Pediatrics. Much more child friendly (toys, movies, playground outside, fish aquarium, brighter colors). East Valley Pediatrics is more representative of a hospital ER.

Wait time:

Advantage goes to East Valley Pediatrics. Getting into Mesa Pediatrics was a day-long affair. We have had to wait 2 hours past our appointment time to get our sick children in.

Same Day Appointments:

Advantage goes to East Valley Pediatrics. You can call anytime and, if they have room, they'll squeeze you in. With Mesa Pediatrics, you have only a 15 minute window for same day appointments (8am to 8:15am). The line is usually busy so you have to keep redialing and pray you get in. It's like trying to call a radio station that is offering to pay the visa bill of the first 5 callers.

Pediatricians:

I would say this is a tie. At East Valley Pediatrics, we only have experience with Dr. Werther and we have to say that the bad reviews on this site do not accurately represent the experience we have had with him. I'm not saying that they aren't true, I'm just saying he's been extremely patient and kind with each visit. He goes out of his way to be a great pediatrician. We had the same experience at Mesa Pediatrics. If I was forced to choose, I would say that Dr. Werther is a little more personal and friendly than the pediatricians we had at Mesa Pediatrics.

Summary:

Although we like the setting, facilities, office of Mesa Pediatrics much better, East Valley Pediatrics is a much, much better choice in terms of getting your child the proper care he/she needs. No parent likes to wait when their child is suffering.

My son has been a patient with EV Pediatrics since birth. I have seen 5 of the doctors over the past 1.5 years. Of all the doctors I've seen, Dr. William Jacobs is absolutely the best. Other doctors were good but just so very rushed during their time with us. Dr. Wendy Lorenzen was highly recommended to us, but I found her to be very rushed, somewhat dismissive of parental questions/concerns, and quick to use antibiotics for my son's repeated ear infections despite the fact that new research indicates many ear infections resolve on their own (with pain relief and supportive care) w/o the use of antibiotics.

The front office staff needs some training. On more than one occasion, I have overheard loud disagreements and unprofessional behavior from the staff at the front desk. The overall office management is poor - their website has not worked since we've been patients, yet their phone message still directs you to their website to make an appointment. There have also been problems with paperwork - I've had the "pleasure" of filling out paperwork to record new insurance information while supervising a toddler, only to be told at my next visit that they don't have any record of my new insurance.

It's true that you somtimes have to wait beyond your scheduled appointment time. More likely than not, it's due to their willingness to take same day appointments. It stinks when you have to wait, but you sure are grateful when it's your child who needs to be seen right away.

Finally, I was about to leave the practice b/c I hadn't found any doctors I was really crazy about. I made one last attempt and met with Dr. William Jacobs, a relatively new addition to the clinic. He is awesome! He is patient and so very gentle with children. My son has had repeated ear infections and usually pitches a fit when someone tries to examine his ears. With this doctor, he calmly allowed him to check both ears without a peep of protest. He handles children in a way that conveys his respect for them as people - that's something I haven't found with any other pediatrician.

So, in a nutshell - I like Dr. Jacobs a lot, and some of the other doctors are quite good too. But the customer service and office management needs A LOT of improvement.

Dr. Amin has been our pediatrician since my girls were born and my son was young. They are now 17,8 and 7. My eight yr, old was 10 weeks premature and I've trusted Dr. Amin from the beginning. She has never made us wait for an appt. and her care is unsurpassed. I will continue my children in her care as long as humanly possible. Thanks Dr. Amin-Chapman Chris Andersen

I cant believe the stories i hear about Dr. W, We have been seeing Dr. W for a year and i love how he take the time to sit and write all the things and problems we had with our children very firm and honest, love that, I have already recommended him to a close friend , and they LOVE HIM! I recently moved to the west side and I still will drive to the east valley for our childrens visits.

We have been seeing her since my son was born (April 2003), we followed her over from the 6th street location because she has always been kind, informative, and thorough. As with any doctor's office I've been too, at times there has been a bit of a wait. Other times we get right in. I think to be fair in this type of business, one has to expect the unexpected when going to the doctor. Not overly impressed one way or the other with the front office but Dr. Filler is awesome!

I have had some looooong wait times before, and this was not one of them. I saw the doctor promptly. The front office staff was kind and helpful. When I had a question about my insurance, one of the assistants promptly called my insurance to get an answer. When my daughter started to cry, the front office staff tried to calm her down. When we went to the weighing station, the assistant saw that my daughter was going to be difficult (as with most toddlers) so we figured out a way to find her weight and still make her happy. She was more than happy to help me in any way. . Dr. Garland answered all of my questions and my daughter even gave her a hug when we left. I would reccommend this doctor to anyone. And to those of you complaining about wait times, if you want the time of the doctors to do a thorough job, and answer all of your questions, you may wiat a little while. If you want a doctor whose goal is to get you in and out, go elsewhere where you will not get the care and compassion you get here.

We have been going to Dr. Hall for 4 years (referred to us by a friend). She is so patient and thorough and takes a lot of time for you! Her knowledge is amazing and she has great advice on any issue that comes up. She has great bedside manners and remembers even the smallest details about your family and comments on them at the next visit. I HIGHLY recommend her.

I was not fond of Dr. Werther when we had to see him when my daughter couldn't get in with Dr.Hall for a same day visit. He was harsh and rude to my daughter. He had horrible bedside manners and no patience (not what I needed in this situation).

When our son had a 105 temperature and his former pediatrician told us to give him Motrin, refused to see him the same-day or the next day and suggested that we take him to an urgent care facility if we were concerned about his temperature was the catalyst for us to find a new pediatrician. After research, we decided on East Valley Pediatrics and Dr. Joseph Werther.

One thing that we like about East Valley Pediatrics is that they have same-day appointment. It is our preference if our son is sick for him to be seen by his pediatrician not a doctor at an urgent care facility so that his pediatrician can be aware and etc. Also, we have concerns about the type of doctors at an urgent care facility. We have taken our son to an urgent care facility that specializes in pediatrics at night three times and two times, the doctors were terrible?one gave a misdiagnosis and the other one didn??t have the right equipment to check his ear for an infection as well as could even know how to use a tongue depressor.

It is our guess that one reason why the wait times can be long at East Valley Pediatrics is that they have same-day appointments that must be worked into the schedule?this is acceptable to us. Another reason why the wait times can be long is that the doctors spend time with you and your child. We might have four or five questions when we go into our son??s wellness appointments with Dr. Werther and he always spend the time answering our questions, sharing his experience with us and etc.

For those individuals that wrote reviews complaining about the wait times have some patience. It is hard when a doctor is dealing with a child that is under 3 or 4 that can??t talk in sentences or talk at all to tell the doctor what is wrong with them so it take time. Second, there could be a patient that is real sick that take more time to resolve which put the rest of the day behind schedule. If you don??t want to wait then get an early morning appointment (i.e. 8:00 AM ?? 9:00 AM) instead of appointments later in the day?especially the afternoon. Do what we do which is to show up 15 minutes late which cut down the wait time.

In regards to the reviewer that wrote that there were no diapers, don??t you carry a diaper bag with you? Also, this reviewer wrote that there are no charts for height, weight and head circumference stats. Every time that we had a wellness visit, there is a chart for our son with his results graphed against the averages. Also, the nurse gives us a sheet of paper with his results and etc.

We like Dr. Werther. We have found him to be caring and professional. East Valley Pediatrics has another location that is closer to us but it is worth the drive to us to have Dr. Werther as our son??s pediatrician. He always spends time in answering our questions as well as educating us on things such as ear infections which are typically misdiagnosis in most cases by most doctors (your child??s ear is red so he has an ear infection?it is red because he is cryinghas been crying?the key is can the flap be open with air).

I have been taking my girls now 9 and 7 to evp for 6 years now, they are very professional and I recommend them to everyone I meet. If you have never worked inside a Doctors office, please try to refrain from judging the "wait" time- there is a lot that goes into running a doctors office, and the bottom line is the love and compassion, and proper diagnosis for your children. They have always been very understanding of late-night calls, and worried Mom calls. I highly recommend Dr. Kronberg and her staff! Thanks Renee, Mary, Dr. Kronberg and the rest of the staff!

This is the best doctors office I have been too. I have a young son that has seen Wendy and Kelly since birth. They are both wonderful. I have always felt welcome there and that our issues were not at all rushed. I couldn't ask for more. Thanks Wendy for being a great Dr to Mason.

For anyone who is considering this practice let me take a few minutes to warn you about the temper this doctor has. My three children have been seeing Dr. Werther since last year. To make a long story short I have experienced this doctor's very angry side. If you question him or inquire about anything he says he will get angry!!!! He backs his offfice staff 100% and will never admit that they are not very well organized. You will wait forever in the waiting room for an appointment and then you wait even longer to see a doctor. There office is clean and that's about it. The front desk is clueless about what goes on in the back. If you consider this office my suggestion is to try seeing someone who has a more proffesional manner.

Dr. Angela Filler is a great doc. She is knowledgeable and is very tender and loving towards my infant. If it weren't for the very positive experiences with Dr. Filler, I would not have returned to EVP. As it stands, I am looking for a different Ped anyway because of the rest of the office there.

The cons:

- I have waited at least an hour PAST the scheduled appt time TWICE (with an infant)
- After each visit, either my child or I am sick (though went in well, in the well-child area) within a couple days
- The front office staff, although friendly, is not very helpful
- There is no diaper-change type of station at the infant weighing scale. The nurse wanted me to undress my infant and take off her diaper IN THE AIR, place her on the scale to be weighed and then put the dirty diaper back on her!! When I asked if we could just go into her appt room to undress her, the assistant acted as though it was a huge inconvenience to walk the extra 5 steps. Also, she had a very bad attitude when I asked for a clean diaper (since there are none readily available, and I wasn't about to put a dirty diaper back on my child). EXTREMELY diassatisfied with the assistant/nurse for two visits there. I get the impression she is clueless when it comes to infants.
- Our last pediatrician had printouts at each visit detailing a summary of height/weight/head circumference (as well as charts of each one with percentiles), and vaccines given. Nothing like that is given, and, again, the assistant was extremely inconvenienced to even write down the information in a book for me.

I have been using EVPeds for about a year now for my 3 children aged 10,7, and 7 months. Ive seen 3 different doctors so far and they've all been very nice and seem competant. I do have an issue with their long wait times! I took my baby in for a physical and ended up rescheduling after waiting a full hour beyond our appointment time. Just last week, I brought the baby in for a suspected ear infection and waited 45 minutes beyond the appointment time. Even waiting for a nurse to call you back during regular hours usually takes all day. Scheduling an appointment takes forever as well... just waiting on hold for several minutes to speak with the front desk.

I have been taking my kids to Dr. Lorenzen ant EVPeds for two years now. She is a very caring doctor and very calming to my children who have sometimes been afraid of going to the Dr. She is very thorough but does not prescribe meds (antibiotics)unless they are really necessary and I really appreciate that.

Also comforting is that her group EV peds has an urgent care office at Superstition Springs mall that is open nights and weekends and they only charge the copay for a regular visit.

I have taken my daugther to EV Pediatrics for almost 2 years now. Her primary care physician is Dr. Kendra Hall. Dr. Hall is very detailed in her examinations and is very friendly. The reason I gave the office itself a rating of 4-stars instead of 5-stars is due to the lack of organization in the front reception area and billing department.
