Ratings_icons Pet Haven Animal Hospital is wonderful!

I took my two three-month old kittens (both of whom had severe eye infections and had been being treated by another vet) in for their FVRCP Series (and to have a second opinion on their eyes/medicine doses). They saw Dr. Caruso, who was amazing. She was professional and easy to talk to and clearly loves animals. She and the vet tech were incredibly gentle and sweet with both of them and kept the kittens very calm during the procedures. The receptionist was friendly and made sure we received service quickly. The total bill for both cats (two examinations, two FVRCP series, two worm medicines) came to $158 and Pet Haven even gave us a surprise discount! At the previous office, their visits have been more than that EACH.
I was so impressed by the entire staff and will definitely continue to take my kittens there.

We took our very sick dog to dr.Keschner. She was misdiagnosed at a different vet. He made the proper diagnosis immediately and kept her alive and comfortable for more than a year. While his bedside manner may be gruff and you may feel rushed. He is an excellent vet who truly cares about the animal. We never felt that they were trying to make a buck. We spent much more at the other vet with disastrous results. I wish we had gone to Pet Haven first.

Ratings_icons The Best Animal Hospital In Brooklyn

David N.

I Recently had the pleasure of having both of my dogs treated at pet haven animal hospital. One of my dogs needed surgery. I could not be happier with the result. The staff and doctors treated me with courtesy and respect. The surgery was perfect and my dog is like a brand new lively happy puppy. The surgery changed my dogs life and my kids couldn't be happier. This hospital is clean , sterile, and probably the best facility I have ever been to. Pet Haven animal hospital doctors and staff are the best. Do not waste time anywhere else , if you want the best care for your pets call them. As an added benefit, the prices were fifty percent lower than what the N.Y.C. hospitals wanted to charge me.

The best pet hospital on earth. I brought my African Gray in on 11/20/08. Dr Keschner treated the bird as if it was his. He spent 1/2 an hour with me and the bird, gave solid advice and even made boarding arrangements for my Gray for only 16.00 per day ( I frequently go on vacation, the bird is very healthy). He (The Doctor) is exceptionally personable, I even found out he has a Quaker and a Macaw. The Receptionist is both attractive, respectful and very helpful.I've called at least 12 animal hospitals in the area, I cannot believe their rudeness, prices and incompetence. Thanks to Dr. Keschner and staff
Oh, by the way I live in Fort Greene and obviosly am not from the area. But I heard he was very good. And would certainly recommend Pet Haven.

Ratings_icons Put My Kitten In GOD MODE! Best Animal Hospital Ever.

Kenneth K.

Pet Haven and it's doctors performed hours of very difficult surgery on a 6 week old kitten that was hit by a car and unconscious. Over 40 stitches in 5 places, a metal pin in one leg, a week of intensive care. The kitten is over 2 years old now and perfectly healthy with barely any scarring. If a random animal hospital in Brooklyn can perform the miracle of sewing up a little furry ball of mashed up kitten bones and flesh into a happy, playing and perfectly normal cat, they are exceptional and their skills are well above those of average vets. To pull this off with no problems, no infections, no complications is a testament to their professionalism.

My return visits for shots and checkups were routine, prompt and with the occasional moments requiring me to be humble while they did what was necessary to my cat to keep it healthy, and she still is, while the bill each time is what I am happy to pay for their professionalism and life saving skills that I know I could never have found elsewhere when I first needed an animal hospital for Anzio.

My kitten is in GOD MODE, meaning that she can float in the air, has superhuman dexterity, agile beyond olympians, faster than a speeding locomotive and quite simply is god like and to be feared. Thanks Pet Haven!

Ken

Ratings_icons Great Vet and great service

I was dealt with professionally, and more importantly, my dog was handeled with great care. Dr Keschner made a great diagnosis that my previous vet couldnt figure out and ran multiple expensive tests. Dr Keschner is really honest, and my dog had a great run to live in during his visit. I would recommend this hospital to anyone with a dog. I also hear great things about his bird care and treatment.

Ratings_icons a very bad experience!

i took my dachshund here today after getting really excited about the great reviews and close location only to be sorely disappointed. maybe i caught them on a bad day, but it was bad enough for me to not want to return, even though i need to for a check up on the current diagnosis.

almost immediately when we were taken into the room the vet started with a "you don't know s###" attitude, which i really didn't appreciate ( i was plenty educated in the things he was spouting off about) but tried to look past. the entire appointment was VERY rushed, and though i understand needing to keep on schedule, trying to jam two different needles into my dog (in the same spot, nonetheless) while shoving a pill down her throat doesn't seem necessary. her normally calm vet demeaner disappeared because of this which elicited a, "well i thought she was good tempered, guess not!" sort of comment from the vet. yeah, well i would be grumpy too. and i really am.

$200 for twenty minutes of that? i think i will look elsewhere for the next visit.

Ratings_icons These Vets Are the BEST!

I had a turtle emergency and went by online reviews to find Pet Haven. Their bedside manner is EXCELLENT and it's obvious that they really love what they do - unlike A LOT of vets I've encountered in New York. They're a warm bunch of people and I wish I had MORE pets to take back to them.

I've been taking my pets to Pet Haven for more than 10 years. they have always been professional, honest, quick and cost effective. What more can you ask from a Vet? I first found Pet Haven by talking to dog owners in Prospect Park, one of whom told me about how one of the Pet Haven vets came to her home weekly to care for her elderly dog until he died. I've found all of the docs there to be caring and wonderful, both in good times and bad.

I have a lot of pets and found that the Pet Haven Animal Hospital was the best place to go. They treat all kinds of pets including exotics. Not all vets do. And someof those that do don't really care about them. I had another vet almost drop my gerbil off the examining table and she didn't even care. They are very caring and will really care for your pet and help them so much. The prices are good compared to other vets I've been to.

A few months ago, I found an abandoned kitten in the garbage room of my apartment building. After calling 311, Animal Rescue (both a joke) and many other shelters, Pet Haven was the only place that would take in this sweet little kitty and keep her alive. They cleaned her up and dewormed her, and generally took excellent care of her at no cost to me. They also provided a safe environment for her until she was adopted.

PROS: No kill animal shelter, excellent pet care
CONS:
