Since the 1960's my family went to Dr. Keschner  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My father used Dr. Keschner since the 60's. The Dr. Keschner now who took over the practise, has no blood ties I was told I assumed he was the son. The new Dr. Keschner stinks. I did not like the things he did to my dog bad vet. And when I went in for his ashes they never had them. For months of trying to reach him and when I finally did, I was told some hair brain story about the ashes go to a mass grave site the pet owner does not get them. I WAS HURT AND LIED TO. thank you Dr. Kescher I still have the paper work if anyone wants to see it.

Great Vet and great service  5 Star Rating - World class

I was dealt with professionally, and more importantly, my dog was handeled with great care. Dr Keschner made a great diagnosis that my previous vet couldnt figure out and ran multiple expensive tests. Dr Keschner is really honest, and my dog had a great run to live in during his visit. I would recommend this hospital to anyone with a dog. I also hear great things about his bird care and treatment.

NOT going back here EVER!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Got a kitten a month ago and took him here because it's my neighborhood. Vet, Dr. Caruso, was gruff, rushed and made comments about "breaking the cat" of his squirming. Maybe he squirmed because she propelled a flea eradication pill into his throat (never asked my permission) while getting simultaneously trying to give him a shot? In any event, the animal was not treated as such but rather as an annoyance. Additionally, the place reeks of gasoline from the closed station next door. I would never leave my pet there overnight. When I mentioned this to the staff the girl at the desk said "yeah, someone else said that too, but I don't smell it. Heeelllloooooo....... Also charged me to throw out a towel that came with the cat -- it was not soiled - I just didn't need it. Took my pet to another vet in Park Slope for follow-up and was treated just fine. Cat was not squirming. "Break him..." indeed it's clear who is broken Dr.

a very bad experience!  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

i took my dachshund here today after getting really excited about the great reviews and close location only to be sorely disappointed. maybe i caught them on a bad day, but it was bad enough for me to not want to return, even though i need to for a check up on the current diagnosis.

almost immediately when we were taken into the room the vet started with a "you don't know s###" attitude, which i really didn't appreciate ( i was plenty educated in the things he was spouting off about) but tried to look past. the entire appointment was VERY rushed, and though i understand needing to keep on schedule, trying to jam two different needles into my dog (in the same spot, nonetheless) while shoving a pill down her throat doesn't seem necessary. her normally calm vet demeaner disappeared because of this which elicited a, "well i thought she was good tempered, guess not!" sort of comment from the vet. yeah, well i would be grumpy too. and i really am.

$200 for twenty minutes of that? i think i will look elsewhere for the next visit.

These Vets Are the BEST!  5 Star Rating - World class

I had a turtle emergency and went by online reviews to find Pet Haven. Their bedside manner is EXCELLENT and it's obvious that they really love what they do - unlike A LOT of vets I've encountered in New York. They're a warm bunch of people and I wish I had MORE pets to take back to them.

dogs and cats galore  5 Star Rating - World class

I've been taking my pets to Pet Haven for more than 10 years. they have always been professional, honest, quick and cost effective. What more can you ask from a Vet? I first found Pet Haven by talking to dog owners in Prospect Park, one of whom told me about how one of the Pet Haven vets came to her home weekly to care for her elderly dog until he died. I've found all of the docs there to be caring and wonderful, both in good times and bad.

Great!  4 Star Rating - Very good

I have a lot of pets and found that the Pet Haven Animal Hospital was the best place to go. They treat all kinds of pets including exotics. Not all vets do. And someof those that do don't really care about them. I had another vet almost drop my gerbil off the examining table and she didn't even care. They are very caring and will really care for your pet and help them so much. The prices are good compared to other vets I've been to.

Animal Saviors  5 Star Rating - World class

A few months ago, I found an abandoned kitten in the garbage room of my apartment building. After calling 311, Animal Rescue (both a joke) and many other shelters, Pet Haven was the only place that would take in this sweet little kitty and keep her alive. They cleaned her up and dewormed her, and generally took excellent care of her at no cost to me. They also provided a safe environment for her until she was adopted.

PROS: No kill animal shelter, excellent pet care
CONS:
