This department store really is large. It has like 9+ floors of women's, men's, and children's clothing, housewares, accessories, etc. My legs definitely ached while I walked around this store. I felt that the selection of women's clothes was good and that it was as organized as it could be. The cashier did not greet me at all. This is a major tourist attraction, so you do have to deal with some crowds.

I love the Macy's on 34th Street. It's great for shopping for the whole family as it has many designers for that fits our individual taste and styles in the same place. My girls and I have shopped for clothes, make up and we especially love trying out the new fragrances before we decide on which one is best.

If any of you have seen the episode of Will and Grace, the time that there is the Big Sale at a Dept. Store and they run for their lives and pull at the mdse, well, that is the way that Macy's by the Garment District is when there is a sale.... I believe that the first Sat. of each month if I remember correctly, everything in the Garment District is on sale and people stand on corners getting you to come it..... With Macy's you can get an outfit that was origianlly $200, marked down to $129., then you get an additional 50% off which brings it to $65. and if you have a coupon you get an additional 50% off of that price.... It is amazing.... It is what they consider last years styles, WHO CARES..... it makes this years wardrobe for me!!!!!
PROS: BARGAINS GALORE
CONS: CROWDED

Sometimes I feel like macy's herald sqaure is really dusty and dirty. but it does have a certain charm and i have always thought that the sales associates are very helpful. the best kept secret is the sale section in the basment kitchen department. they have ourageous sales - perfect for houswarming gifts, etc. - ex. quesadilla maker for 14.99!

this is the best macy's out of the ones that are in New York. the one in Brooklyn is kind of run down. but this store is gorgeous especially the first floor. they have every thing from all price ranges such as your incredibly expensive designer bags to jeans and shirts for about fourty dollars. and they sell basically everything from clothes to kitchen accessories. come especially during sales, because the prices are so cheap. you are bound to find a great deal.

Who doesn't know about the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade or seen thisstore on TV or in the famous movie shown every year at Christmas but until you've experienced the craziness of this store during those holidays you just can't imagine the insanity...I for one don't really care for it then though I do like Macys during other times of the year when it's a bit more normal. Well, what ever normal is for this gigantic store filled with thousands of shoppers at any given time..
The merchandise is abundant with every style fashion, size and price range..The house and gift wares are displayed in very artful settings....I enjoy walking through the make-up and perfume areas, watching people getting makeovers, or rushing to finish whatever it is they were there for...The store is worth a visit even if you don't wish to buy anything, just to people watch, but I'll bet you leave with one of their shopping bags in hand..:)
PROS: A giant of a store, more merchandise than can be imagined
CONS: sometimes can be too crazy and crowded

We know Macy's Thanksgiving day parade, and now they sponsor the July 4th fireworks in New York, but what Macy's is really all about is their Christmas display windows. For those who love window shopping, and regular charge it shopping, this is the place to go. When window shopping, just be polite and wait your turn. Everyone wants to see!

Everything in this store is in no particluar order, and is not separated to make finding clothing, cookware, linens, etc. at all possible. The store help doesn't make the job any easier, because they don't really know where anything is, but can you blame them for not sorting through this mess? Also, from my own experience the store tends to not open on time; it opens late and closes early.

Where do I start. I love this store. It is my one stop shop for everything. I can buy gifts for everyone and splurge on myself. I love the makeup department. Everyone so eager and willing to splash you with the latest fragrances and colors. I just love it. I could live here. No, really. I have spent hours, literally, in this huge wonderful store.

This is a Macy's superstore...probably the largest Macy's I've ever seen. You can find some good deals here on rare occassions, but overall I have found this isn't the best place to shop to find good prices. In particular, i went here to find a nice, cheap suit, and I had no luck...you can't find a nice suit here if you are on a budget. But, i have found some nice jeans and tee-shirts at reasonable prices. There is also a lot of fast food stores located on the different levels, so you can eat while you shop....
PROS: huge selection
CONS: don't shop here if you're on a budget

This Herald Square location has become the worst experience in shopping. Tourists everywhere, staff can sometimes help but mostly seem overwhelmed by the sheer number of customers. Nothing really worth buying as by the time you navigate through the store and see that prices are not really competitive with other stores, the whole shopping experience is so over. Stay away unless you just want to tell someone you went there.

This Macy's is the department stores of department stores. It is huge. You can pretty much find something for everyone be it clothes, jewelry, cosmetics, toys, appliances, etc... this store has a little bit of everything. There is even a very large food gallery (court does not really describe it correctly) in which you can find many specialty foods. If you love to shop, this is the deprtment store that you cannot miss.

Macy's seems to have really improved recently. Its salespeople at the flagship Herald Square store are now generally extremely helpful and eager to show you the best outfits and choices. Macy's often has great sales and has a huge variety to choose from. There are numerous places to eat in Macy's ranging from McDonald's to the Cellar Grill. I highly recommend checking out this Bloomingdale's affiliate.
PROS: Huge selection, Good prices
CONS: Not luxurious
