This place is so much fun, and they had retro movie nights that were just packed. The screens are large and they have a renovated lobby, which includes restrooms and snackbar.

They usually have a good selection of movies, and sometimes they even show triple features.

I frequent this drive in because it is so much easier with my kids. Every time we are there we have a great time ( Even if it requires a rain poncho). The staff is outstanding! I always see them out there making sure things are running smoothly, giving cars a jump start, teaching people how to turn off the day time running lights. We always bring in snacks and our lawn chairs, and still can't resist a trip to the refreshment stand for the popcorn, and have you tried the fries...... yum! All and all this is a great place! We will be regulars there for years to come :)

I live about 5 minutes away from the transit drive in and every summer I go there about 4 or 5 times, it depends what movies are playing. As long as I can remember the drive-in has always been a great place to go. Since I was about 4 I could remember going there with my family and getting into our pajamas, of course back then I wouldn't even make it to the beginning of the movie, however I can still remember playing on the park and playing catch as the sun set. Now I'm am 16 and I still enjoy going there and my sisters have even worked there once before. Even though there have been many stories of the infamous Rick Cohan I can assure you he is harmless, the Transit Drive-in is a family owned business and Rick helped resurrect the Drive-in you can even read about the history at TransitDrive-in.com. Rick does come off as short tempered, however you can can tell he lives for this and aside from a few encounters with angry customers Rick is a fair guy who is loyal to his employees and doesn't second guess them. So what I am trying to say is don't let bad reviews of Rick keep you from going. The Transit Drive-In is a one in a million place you wont find any where else and I can guarantee you great memories for you and your families.

The Drive-In is a Western New York summer time tradition, and this is the best Drive-In in Western New York.

The cost of seeing 2 movies (sometimes 3!!!) is about $7 per person, and last summer when we were there, children under 12 are free. You can bring all your own food, so you can skip the pricey concession stand.

There is plenty of parking, and even if you are in a small car you'll still be able to see, as they make vans, trucks, SUVs and larger cars park in the back rows.

You can bring lawn chairs if you like, and set them out in front of (or behind) your vehicle, just be careful not to place them in the spaces next to you, unless no one parks there.

Bring a flashlight so you can see your way back and forth to the bathroom, and you may want to include some bug repellant in your stash, as the mosquitos can get pretty fiece!

This is a great and affordable way to enjoy some family time, so pack up the car with a couple of pillows and blankets, lots of fresh popped popcorn and enjoy a relatively inexpensive night out with the family!

I love going to the drive- in. There really aren't enough of them anymore. The only other one that I know of is over in Cheektowaga. They seem to have better movies at the Transit Rd Drive-In. It was great when we had our pick up and lay out in the back. It does get overly crowded and they really need to do something about the womens bathroom. There aren't enough stalls and during intermission the waiting time to get in is insane!
You have to get there early or you will not get a good spot. On the weekends it gets so packed sometimes it can be noisy from other people partying in their chairs in the parking lot. I like to be in the front where its a bit quieter and I can hear the movie. It is a great summer thing to do for an outing. You get 2 movies instead of one movie when you go to a regular movie theatre. The price is right. The parking is bad. And the womens bathroom--they need another one. There aren't really any drive-in's to choose from so ofcoarse thats why it gets really packed.

We really enjoy taking our family to the Drive In. Transit Drive In is the closet. They offer movies on four different screens, so there is always something for everyone playing. The snack stand can get expensive but admission is reasonable at $7 per person for two new movies. Get there early this place packs them in.

PROS: Latest movies
CONS: pricey

On a cool Buffalo summer evening, going to the Transit Drive-in can be a great experience. You get to see 2 movies for very cheap and for once the popcorn and snacks will not empty your wallet. They usually have a decent selection of movies to choose from, and it's a different way to enjoy the movies from the comfort of your own car. Beware of the possible mosquitos though - you may want to bring some repellant or something to keep the bugs away if you're planning on sitting outside or rolling down your windows...
