I don't go to Kohls often, but today I went in to get a specific golf shirt for my boyfriend. I knew I had some clothes from my parents that I received for my birthday a little while ago. I have never worn them, I didn't like them and they were only sitting in my closet. I was under the impression that you can't return items without receipts or tags, but as I learned on the radio, Kohls accepts returns even without them.
So, I went in, after a little searching for the customer service, I asked a cashier where I can make a return, and she pointed me to the corner of the store.
I eventually decided not to return the items because it turned out that they would only be worth $5 combined (it went on sale). The girl at the customer service/return desk then proceeded to give me a Kohls bag for the two items, and I asked if it will be weird to be walking around with a bag, when I'm still shopping? She said :oh no, you're fine". (SHE was really nice btw).
Anyway, I then went to find the shirt I was looking for, and then stood in a line to be cashed out. I figured I would have to explain the bag, so after I greeted the cashier (the SAME one who pointed me to the customer service/returns desk) I placed my Kohls bag on the counter, so it wouldn't look suspicious or anything. I also EXPLAINED what it was after she was staring at it. I said that this was stuff I tried to return but I decided to keep it because it'd only be worth 5 bucks. She then continued to STARE at me, giving me a really dirty look, as if I was lying to her. She totally didn't believe me! She looked like she was going to accuse me of something that I didn't even do! After a few dirty questionable looks/stares from her I finally got annoyed and said "what?!?" to what she didn't say anything. She honestly though I was lying to her and that I stole it!! First of all, if someone DID try to do that they probably wouldn'y put it on the counter in plain sight. And they wouldn't explain what's in the bag. And second of all, I am not a person who would do that!

ALSO, I guess she has a bad memory of some sort.....as if she didn't remember that when I walked in I asked HER to point me to the return desk, so she KNEW that I was returning stuff!
I guess she FORGOT because she seemed to not remember ....even though this whole thing took less than 10 minutes (WOW..)

After cashing out, and leaving the store humiliated, I went in my car, I put the bags on the seat, and was ready to drive away, when all of the sudden I decided to return to the store and find a manager to make a complaint.
I went back to sustomer service, and a lady approached me, asking if I need anythying, and I said that YES I was going make a complaint. Turned out she was the store manager and she was very dissapointed to hear about the poor customer service I got and the fact that I was pretty much looked down upon, making me look like a liar and a thief. She apologized to me and was VERY nice. She made a copy of my receipt and said she will certainly have a talk with the woman. On top of that I received a bit of a discount on my purchase, even though I said that's really not necessary- I just wanted to be heard and let them know what a b**ch of a cashier they have working for them.

Honestly, I was so humiliated, and felt as though I was being judged and accused of something that was clearly NOT done!! This was my 1st time at this store and also my last. I will NEVER go back to that store. People like HER really need to get out of the customer service, because they obviously don't have the manners and courtesy that their customers deserve.

So if you're returning something and decide to keep it, you might want to rethink of walking aroud with it while still shopping, because you might be accused like me.

******** Very poor customer service. I'm very dissapointed.

I rated this store as ONE star, because unfortunately, there was no such a thing as ZERO STARS.

I have been to this store a few times, however its really not that great. It is kind of disorganized, and the merchandise is really packed in so you cannot move about amongst the racks of clothes. There is also so many clothes that you don't even know what to look at first, the selection is overwhelming. The womens plus department is also severely lacking as its tucked away in a corner and its like the smallest department and impossible to find in the store, yet the other departments take up a whole side of the store. I also think the clothes are pricey for the experience you get while shopping for them, you will be paying 30$ for jeans at this store if you intend to buy them there, the discounts aren't very good.

Shoes are EXCELLENT though, with low prices and an excellent selection, I would come here just for the shoes.

I just bought some screen printed mens T-shirts at this store, they carry the same ones hot topic sells but for 9.99 instead of 20$ and up. However they place huge, sticky size tags on the t-shirts, which then gets sticky residue all over the screen printing of the shirt, often requiring goo gone to remove. This is REALLY REALLY annoying, especially when its a shirt that is totally awesome and you just have to have it. When I looked around for an employee to ask about this there was none to be found. I don't want to buy t-shirts with sizing tags that leave sticky residue and could ruin the shirt, so please Kohls, change the size tags!

The first time that I went into this store I was amazed at how big it was and how much is there too look at. I brought my kids and we had plenty of room.

Kohl's is relatively new to the Buffalo area, and it's a decent department store with mid-level products. I'd say the calibur is about the same as JCPenney's. The store itself is single level (no hunting up and down the escalator for stuff) and pretty big, and the store stands alone - i.e. it's not part of a plaza. If you apply for a Kohl's card you can get some pretty good deals because they have anywhere from 15-30% off sales using the card, but even without the card you can find some decent prices. The store is nothing spectacular, and I guess I only give it 3 stars because you need to make a purposeful trip to shop out there, which is not really convenient.
