Walk into the CHC Coffeebar and feel the vibe. The ambience is soothing. Enveloped in subtle greens, browns, and yellows, you smell the faint and enticing fragrance of freshly ground beans brewing, hear the mellow Jack Johnson tunes playing through the speakers, see the comfy couch and chairs, oversized pillows calling and you feel at home.
As well you should. This family run establishment, located on the corner of Broad and Delaware Streets, prides itself on getting to know its customers as friends. Situated in the center of Woodbury, students, lawyers and local businessmen alike can enjoy their java while watching pedestrian passers-by through gigantic windows. And don't forget to bring your laptop...the coffeebar boasts wireless internet hook-up for your use.
And do dare try the fare! You will come back again and again. The owners are italian, and want to feed you well! Grab and go sandwiches are made fresh daily - from turkey wraps with provolone and roasted reds (cooked right in the kitchen) to homemade chicken and tuna salads. The ceasar salads, garden salads, fruit salads are light, fresh and tasty - particularly for all those low-carbers.
And be sure to try the sweets after your eats. Chocolate chip, peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia nut, oatmeal raisin cookies, etc. are homebaked fresh by the family every morning. Rich, chocolately brownies with chocolate chunks are also homebaked and absolutely to die for. The selection of pies and cakes changes from day to day, but you are bound to find something to entice your tastebuds. Soft serve ice cream and arctic swirls are also avaliable.
CHC hours: 7-ish a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9-ish a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. You can look forward to evening hours once June hits, with open mic nites and art showings. This place is much cooler than any other coffee spot around. Stop in and help support CHC, and show your friends what it's like to relax and do coffee the European way.
PROS: Friendly workers/customers. Wireless internet. Great music. Great Java.
CONS: None.
