Pei Wei Asian Diner

Awesome place to eat. I love Asian/Chinese food. The serving portions were off the chain. My wife loves this place. Although I think it's a little pricey, I still go from time to time. The environment and the ambiance is worth the price.

I think this place rocks. It's very inexpensive and fast. The manager has gone out of her way everytime I have been there to ask me if I need anything (it's more or less self-service) and always asks me if I want a togo cup for my beverage even though I've dined in. Can't beat it for the price.

I recently (2 wks ago) moved to Dallas from Los Angeles, CA where there were more Chinese restaurants than what we know to do with. So I may be a little spoiled, but I think I have good authority when it comes to judging Chinese food. I was excited when a coworker suggested Pei Wei for lunch, but to my disappointment the food was very mediocre. I ordered broccoli chicken (cant get simpler than that). The chicken was not stir fried, it tasted like it was boiled then slathered with sauce. There was no real flavor. The beauty of Chinese food and stir fry cooking is that there is a very distinct and robust "wok" flavor. Without it, its just "bla".
I was really disappointed with my first Chinese meal since moving here two weeks ago. Because of the good service, pleasant atmosphere, and clean facility, I'm sure I'll eat here again and give it a second chance. I'll report back if I find that my one experience was perhaps a fluke and I am proved wrong.

The phad thai is devine, yummy and health conscious too. Also what is great about this place is that they have a semi cafeteria service, as you order and have a seat and then your server brings your food to you. A good value too.

Pei Wei was great idea that I wish I had. I love this location because the staff seems to be the best on its feet. The manager, Chad is one of my favorite restaurant people...he used to be a Primo's alum.

Pei Wei is delicious. I have tried several things on the menu and haven't found anything I don't like. The dan dan noodle bowl is my favorite. There is almost always a line, but the line moves fast. You place your order, and they bring the food to your table when it is done. I've never met anyone who didn't get addicted to Pei Wei after eating there.
