Great America is HEAVEN, this theme park has it all, fast rides, roller coasters, bumper cars. Its great for the older kids, I wouldnt recomment it for those 3 and under. But over all I will be back with my family.

My family loves to come here too. THe rides are awesome specially top gun. Theres only one other ride in california that compares to top gun. The park is always clean and you always see staffs sweeping and cleaning the park. This place is always packed during the summer and the lines are long but if you love rollercoasters like my family does, this is a must go.

I like this park because it has something for the whole family, all age groups. The new waterpark is a lot of fun. Good chance for parents to get a breather while kids play.

This theme park has more rides than any other theme park in California. And some of the BEST. Every trip to GA is a fun one, I have never been disappointed. They have it all!

PROS: WOW card gets you in all season for free, awesome attractions
CONS: Expensive, but worth the wow card or VIP if you go a few times

This is the second year we've bought season passes to Great America. We get there right when the park opens, stay for just a couple hours (sometimes even less) and head home. We never stand in line for more than 10 minutes if we do it this way. If you go in the afternoon, it's not really worth it. My kids (5 and 8 last year) love the roller coasters - if you want to do psycho mouse, go there first because once there's a line, it moves really slowly. Demon almost never has a line and Top Gun moves quickly too. I would never let my kids go on Endeavor again - it seemed very unsafe! The theming's not like Disney, but it's good thrills and very close!

(1) Parking is free with the VIP pass (otherwise $10 each time)
(2) You won't feel guilty leaving early if you have to
(3) They have several "bring a friend for free day" promotions for VIP passholders every season. Our kids love sharing the day with a friend.

Other tips:
(1) Water fountains are available next to all the restrooms, so you don't need to lug water bottles all around the park.
(2) There is often a strong breeze that starts in late afternoon around the Water Park area, so it can sometimes get pretty chilly for those that are wet.
(3) It does get quite crowded on weekends, especially midday.

not bad, located downtown San Jose. Right off Hwy 101. The park is actually bigger than it seems, especially considering its located in an urban area. Theres not a lot of "wasted" space that a DisneyLand would use. There are exhibits, rides and other attractions, with emphasis on Paramount's movies and tv shows. So you see Star Trek people walking around, its funny. Somewhat sketchy crowd, the also have metal dectors at the entrance. About $40 to get in, a lot cheaper with season pass like I had. Huge free parking lot, always some spots.

This amusement park is more than than I remember. Last time I was there I was in the 9th grade and it was just OK, but returning this past summer returned with my children. I was really surprised by all the children's rides and activities and they enjoyed the Nick theme -- Dora and Spongebob! Wow!
The food is overpriced and bad. I recommend taking a picnic and enjoy outside the park before going in or leaving just for that purpose. But sometimes it can't be avoided -- eating inside an amusement park -- so try the pizza joint in the food court.
The Demon is a MUST-ride rollercoaster and the water rides are excellent.

One of the larger theme parks in the Bay Area. Went there recently because they had a Nickelodeon special with a parade. Got to see many characters and the kids took some pictures with them. I think they have different themes every month. It was relaxing because the weather was great and there wasn't many people. Enjoyed the rides like the merry go round. Great place to take the kids because there are many kids rides that they could go on by themselves. Will definitely visit again next season.

This is the place where all the teenagers around go to for a thrill. Great America is a place that EVERYONE in the area has been to. They are most famouse for their rollercoasters. Everyone loves their coaster and they pretty much have a wide variety. The demon, Invertigo, The grizzly, top gun (almost everyones favorite.) I myself am not that much of a thrill seeker (Im a huge scardy cat) so I go for the more subtle rides. But of course even I cant go on plain spinny rides. They have the ride with the mouse, then I really enjoy the water rides (but the lines take forever.) Also stuff like bumper cars and the 3D theater which right now I believe is showing Spongebob Square pants. Lots of fun, but the downside is definitly all the lines, they get ridiculous. Also, check when their season starts and ends, they aren't always open.

They have a wide variety of things to do here. Lots of thrill rides, a fairly big kiddie section of both rides and activities, and a small (but growing) water park (it can get pretty hot in the summer, so always bring your suit then!)

The food seems expensive, even for theme park food. Not all the places have kid size (and oriented) meals, so check the menus. They do give you a lot of food at some places. In fact, my family of 4 usually gets just two of the chickin and fries meals and share, and we all get enough.

Best amusement park in the Bay Area. With lots of thriller roller coaster rides it is fun to take your family and friends. The price of the ticket was half price since we ordered from AAA. Rides are exhilarating from bumper cars to high-flying roller coasters. Only downside is the over priced food. Lines vary from attraction to attraction, some like the water rides took about 10 minutes and others took like 15. Wasn't long of a wait. I would recommend anyone to go there and have a fun adventure.

What is different about Great America is that it caters primarily towards the thrillseekers and the adults who like fast rides, rollercoasters, and other stomach turning attractions.

This is definitely not a Disneyland-like theme park. Although this place does have a kid's area, it is not all over the place as it might be in Disneyland. The main course that this amusement park has to offer are rides, rides, rides! There are tons of rollercoasters, crazy carnival-style rides, and for the brave soul in you. There is much to do here and you will not leave bored.

The food is pricey, but will leave you satisfied.

PROS: LOTS OF RIDES, movies, etc to keep you occupied throughout your visit
CONS: Price of souvenirs/food is a little bit high

This is a true roller coaster lover's paradise. This park specializes in roller coasters and has quite the collection of them. You can ride everything from an old wooden roller coaster to the most modern metal coasters. They'll all give you an adrenaline rush no matter if you're a kid or their parent. This is one of the main attractions of northern California and is a great break from a wilderness outing in the region.

You can always find people selling cheaper tickets through large companies in the silicon valley. They have a good selection of roller coasters, and you can't try all their rides before they close because there's so much to choose from. The lines can get long in the summer though.

We love Paramount's Great America because it is the perfect place for families. They have great rides for the older kids and a whole section devoted to the little ones. My youngest had such a good time for a change (usually she has to just sit and wait with me while everyone rides). The parade was wonderful, meeting Spongebob an added bonus.

Food is like all parks, expensive but there are a few places that sell good portions. We had Italian and the portions were large enough that the kids just shared with us.

Do remember to get in line for parking early as the lot fills quickly.

This is an entire day of fun for the whole family.

If you're the kind of person who loves rollercoasters, then this is definetely the amusement park for you. This is a great place to bring the kids because they also have a complete kids' section full of tons of different types of rides. There's even a play pool for the toddlers, a water park, and tons of other water rides. For the teens there are rollercoasters galore, drop zone, etc. They also have a very nice food area with different foods. The arcade center is filled with tons of different arcades game, including earning tickets for prizes. The price is just right if you're looking for an extremely fun-filled day, but be aware if you go on a Sunday or Saturday--the place may be jampacked with people!

Great America is a fun amusement park located in Santa Clara,California. This great amusement park is greatly appreciated by many kids. There is a children's town where there are little rides like small airplanes and cars. There are also a large rides area where there are rides like Drop Zone, Top Gun, Vortex, Bumper Cars, and The Carousel. Many people seems to enjoy these rides and often, they come back for more. This park provides a fun thrilled day for anyone coming. Company Picnics are also held here very often so it can get very crowded on days. There is also a cable car that takes you across the whole park to view everything and they will drop you on the other side. This amusement park is fun and everyone likes it.

You haven't lived until you have taken a ride on Top Gun. It's old and not as fast as the newer rides but it still rocks! Great America has been revamping itself over the last couple of years and it's working. Besides Top Gun, Vertigo and Drop Zone make it worth the money. Even the kids rides like the mouse ride are great. With the addition of the water park, Great America seems to have gotten even better.

I just want to add 2 pieces of advice. Go when the park first opens for the season. There are barely any lines the first couple of weeks the park is open, so go then. Also, bring your own food or go out for lunch and come back in the park with your WOW card. The food is expensive and gross.

I think Great America was great when I was younger. Now adays, the place is just getting worn down. For the kids area, it still is nice and the kids will enjoy it a lot, but the rest of the park wasn't as great as I remembered it when I was younger.

we took our 3 1/2 yr old daughter, not know ing how much would be relevant to her interests. There is a very kid friendly section with about 4-5 rides that she really liked (Dora ride, etc). The water park area was also nice (like a giant pool inside an amusement park), and they had convenient changing room areas to get in and out of wet clothes.

Food was marginal there, but adequate for a park like this.

All in all, we had good fun for a good 4-5 hours there before she started to burn out.

If you've got money to waste then spend it here, otherwise, go somewhere else. Yes, there's a ton of roller coasters and a small area for little kids, but apart from that it sucks. It costs an arm and a leg to get in (and you can't take your own food/drink in with you), then once you're inside they rob you yet again for food and drink. The lines are never ending and it's not like it's an attractive place to stand and wait in line.

We took my 2.5 year old and my 12 year old for the day and there was so much to do for both of them! My daughter got to see her favorite nickelodeon characters and my oldest got to jump on the rollercoaster rides he likes the best. I thought parking was pretty reasonably priced and the entrance to the park was quick, no waiting, even though there were a lot of people there. They have lockers if you don't want to take everything with you and in the small children section, there are areas next to each ride for you to leave your stroller. That was very convenient traveling with a toddler. Of course the food is outrageously priced but I guess that is what is to be expected of a theme park. We were there for about 6 hours and honestly saw about 1/3 of the park.

PROS: kid-friendly areas, friendly people in the toddler section
CONS: more bathrooms needed, expensive food.

You can get a wow card for around 50 bucks at the start of the season and then you get in free for the rest of the season. It's quite a deal. Bored one day? Just go to Great America! The prices of the food are outrageous, but that's what you should expect out of a theme park. I have been going there for many years and I still enjoy myself there.

Great America is a GREAT place for youngens to play, teenagers to chill, and adults to revive their old amusement park memories! I've been ther many, many times and I never seem to get sick of the many attractions they have! From TOP GUN to their BOOMARANG BAY. Two theme parks for the price of one! And about food, the food there is a bit expensive (though very, very good), but I recommend you to bring your own.

The environment is kid-friendly and fairly clean.

This is a great park for those who really like roller coasters. There are a lot of really cool coasters there that teens just love. But for those who don't, there are still things to do but not as much. This is mostly a park for teens, not really parents. It is really worth it if you buy a WOW Card at the beginning of the season for about $55 and then you can come back for free for the rest of the season. The problem is that there are just oo many people there, you can be waiting an hour to get on your favorite ride. There is a movie theater right next to it so thats fun if you change your mind.

Thrilling rides, lots of roller coasters, but it's expensive to get it. It's worthwhile trying to snag a coupon (usually you can get them from the grocery store). Then as always happens, once you're inside the cost of food and drinks is outrageous. That aside, it's a great place to visit if you like thrill rides; although, the line can be very long, so be prepared to wait.

I love this place! All their rides are fun. They have food, arcades, rollarcoaster and much more. This place is for the whole family. I love top gun and invertgo. Mostly teenages and kids go to this place. And it's usually VERY hot in Santa Clara, so wear appropriate clothing.

great america is a fun place if you like roller coasters, especially if you go on a day when there aren't that many people there. But the food is overpriced and gross, so eat before you go. There are plentry 5-7 roller coasters and it's easy to go on them, because off-peak hours there is hardly ever a line (especially if you want to go on Top Gun). If the day is hot- go on a water ride to cool off. Parking is $10, but if you have a season pass (NOT a Wow Card) it's free.

You must get the VIP or WOW card! Those are priced so well. One ticket to get in is about the price of one of those cards. The parking there is bad thought, even if you have a VIP pass, you can't park in VIP because it's so full. There are tons of different rides for the whole family. They also have movies and concerts. Don't forget you sunscreen and water.

Visiting Great America is fun for those who love roller coasters and other big rides. Unfortunately I am not one of those people so I don't really get a huge kick out of the place. Although it is fun enough that kids have a blast and while they are waiting in line for the next ride, the rest of us snack on funnel cakes. Yummy.

PROS: You can't go wrong with funnel cakes; great for kids
CONS: Not recommended for those who don't enjoy big rides; not much else to do

This is the best amusement park in all of the bay area. i love their thrill rides and restuarants. they also have game booths and stores you can buy soveniers from! the thing i dont like about it is you have to buy a parking space and their stuff are a bit expensive..all in all, this is a great hangout spot for thrillseekers

Great America has improved a lot since it was taken over by Six Flags. They added a bunch of new rides that are bigger, scarier, noisier, and plain awesome. I dig roller coasters and so do a lot of people I know. It sucks when there are long lines because you waste most of your day just standing around for hours. I guess that is unavoidable because the park can only get so big. The season pass is a good deal if you go at least 3 times during the season.

PROS: cool rides, lots of people
CONS: price keeps jumping up

This lace is pretty good to take the family. Lots of rides, Top Gun is my personal fav, plenty of shows, good foos and tons of games to win prizes. You pretty much need two days to enjoy it all!!

Paramount's Great America.. I've been there everyweek for the past two summers. I love the rides, but I wish that they would be more thrilling. The stores there sell stuff that are overly expensive, but most amusement parks do. Once you go there a lot, it gets boring. I also love how they have the WOW card where you pay for 1 regular admission and you can go as many times as you want for free for the rest of the season.
I would probably visit PGA on occasions, but I have already riden all the rides there and wish that they would build more rides! :)

I suppose for folks who live around the area, Great America provides an adequate number of thrills, but I wouldn't exactly call this a destination spot. The park is nice and well kept, but none of the rides are particularly interesting enough to whet my coaster-enthusiast appetite. Ticket and food costs are comparable to any other theme park, i.e. rather expensive.

Great America has AWESOME roller coasters but they probably get boring after a while. But, it's fun to go with friends like once a month or two. Also, tickets are pretty expensive and lines are always long.

Great America has many great roller coasters like Top Gun, Demon, Invertigo, and Vortex. They also have an area just for kids. Like all amusement parks, the lines can get very long and tedius. The food is also very expensive-about $10 for a crappy meal.

This amusement park is a great place to hang out with friends and family. With many of rides and attractions, it's hard to get bored. They've also just opened a bigger and better Boomerang bay. Great America is filled with game booths and food booths. If you have spare time, come to Paramount's Great America!

PROS: Fun at first
CONS: Gets boring after the first few times
