A nice size zoo for the area. Its always clean and kept maintained. We visit usually twice a year. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. They are very knowledgable about the animals. Parking is bad though. There is no parking designated for the zoo and is shared with picnic parking. Lots are always full. Long walk from parking to zoo.

PROS:
CONS: Parking

Wilmington is a small city, and it's nice to have a little zoo to go to. It's free during the winter season. The zoo is small enough to be able to see in an hour or so. There is a separate building that houses the primates. Unfortunately, the stench in this building is so bad, its impossible to stay in there more that a couple of minutes!

The zoo is a nice place to take younger children. My seven year old enjoys going. The zoo is a small scale zoo with a limited amount of animals. The price of admission is inexpensive and worth it.

This zoo is very small. It has some nice exhibits and programs. Unfortunately, the bigger animals don't have enough space to move around. It is sad to see them in their very tiny areas. They have no room to run, and are obviously out of shape. For an inexpensive local zoo, it's a very nice place. They should not try to make it more than it is, however, and leave bigger animals to bigger zoos.

PROS: nice, inexpensive
CONS: sad to see large animals housed in small areas

This small zoo is a quiet and serene place to relax and enjoy the limited variety of animals. Children can enjoy petting the baby goats and observing the otters up close in their wading pool. The zoo is very inexpensive and offers many small activities on the weekends and during the week. There's a small monkey house to view the most variety of monkey's I've seen on the east coast, but the house itself smells very bad so you can only stay in there for a little while. A nice afternoon can be spent at this local zoo.

PROS: Monkey Variety/Local/Not crowded/Inexpensive
CONS: Small
