I visited the Winco store on plaza parkway for the first time this past week. I had been to the grand opening of a new save mart in our area and found a beautiful store but ugly ugly prices. I will never understand why some people seem to enjoy overpaying for the same items. Winco's prices are rock bottom- the best. Their business seems to be geared towards high volume, so I know that the products on the shelves are not inferior quality to get such a low price. They make less on each can or box but make up for it by selling 10 or 15 times more cans or boxes each day than other stores with HUGE markups on everything. It feels like a cross between Costco and Walmart. The employees were universally kind. I noticed two men filling huge displays when I walked in. They were on a ladder handing each other cases. As soon as I asked them a question they both greeted me and stopped what they were doing to help me. They were both all smiles. I don't remember their names one was very tall and the other was short with glasses. I asked the tall one where to find something and he immediately knew and told me exactly where it was. My cashier was a girl named Brandi. She and the other two employees I interacted with all had black badges saying person in charge- not sure exactly what that position is, but they were all friendly and helpful and what I expect in customer service. My point is that I loved Winco and will go back. It's definetely the store for a family on a budget, you get quality and value.

I shopped at Winco in the past and loved the very competitive prices, the warehouse size of it and the large variety of items. The last time was in 2005. We moved to Florida and no Winco here at all.
I shop at Walmart for groceries now and it has been expensive and fustrating. They are always out of things and things on shelf are expired all the time. They have poor selection and variety. I wonder how Winco is now in 2009 as we plan to move back to the west coast this summer.

I shop her only for groceries, the prices are very good but i agree with that previous reviewer to make sure you read the sign. I have it happen more then once where i purchased something and looked at the recipet later to see that it wasnt rung up the advertised price.
Huge store! Takes an hour and a half to shop!!

They have prices that beat most other area grocery stores AND they accept coupons! Their bulk bin section is by far the best feature - I love it! Their produce selection is great, deli meats aren't too bad. Store is absolutely humongous (it usually takes me an hour to walk though it!) And they have excellent markdowns. Store is always clean and presentable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended!

Winco's prices are a bit cheaper than other grocery stores. Of course they still have some items that are higher than others. Overall, customer service is good, prices are good. It's great leaving with a basket full of groceries for around 100.00.

WinCO is where we do our weekly shopping, mostly because they have the lowest prices around. But what I like is that there are very few food items I can think of that are not found in this store. Probably the most unusual feature are the flavored honeys with a notice on the lid not to lift to avoid letting the bees out (not sure I can believe that one). However, it's nice to have bulk spices, teas and dried fruit. Plus an extensive deli counter. There is a nice variety of cheeses and I enjoy being able to get my smoked salmon here. Most of the staff are friendly and there are benches in both the front and back ends if you need a rest. When buying produce, watch those PLU codes, it's very easy to misread a sign - think you're getting a bargain and end up paying an awful lot for a small amount of cherries or grapes.

When shopping in their produce section be sure that the number on the sticker matches the number on the sign as far as the price goes. Winco has good prices and is a convenient way to get just about everything you're looking for.
