Shelby Pediatrics

Dr. Ventimiglia is great... he takes his time and listens to everything I have to say without making me feel rushed! He loves children and it shows. My oldest daughter who is 3 loves him.
I have always been able to get in the same day if my child is sick. The nurses are extremely helpful and always return my calls and never make me feel like I call too much... considering I have twins also and always have a question.

Wonderful doctors... I highly recommend them!!!!!

I really do love this pediatrics office. I have never had to wait to get my sick child in. They really do care about children and I always leave felling better than when I came in.

I have NEVER EVER had a problem getting any of my 4 kids in for an app't when they are sick~ EVER!!!! Dr. V does love the kids, and like the other post he does take his time and listen. His staff is awesome also!!! Thanks for being a great Doc!!!

My other pediatrican retired so this place was recommended. The nurses are not exactly warm and fuzzy.

Dr. V is okay, but I wouldn't wait in line for him. Dr. Patel, is good as is Dr. Rao is good, too.

I'm not a first time mom, so I have experienced other pediatricians and offices and I detest that only certain days of the week are for sick patients and well check ups are only certain days of the week.
If my child is sick, I want to be seen that day and I'm looking for another office as they cannot always accommodate sick children. All my other pediatricians could see sick kids the same day. This is unacceptable to me. And I don't even work outside the home, I cannot imagine if both parents worked.

I would like to add a good word for Dr. Ventimiglia! This Dr. is great. He was meant to be a pediatrician...he LOVES children and it shows! We were referred to him when I was pregnant with my first child, my daughter...she is three now and has a new brother to go see him with! He just got married himself and plans to have a family of his own! God Bless him and his new wife! He is our doctor, but I have seen all three other doctors...Rao, Leo and Patel. They are wonderful doctors also. They are very knowledgeable and friendly!! They make a great team. I highly recommend these doctors!!

I left another doctor that I really liked a lot. But I moved and need to find another doctor for my children. Dr. Ventimiglia is wonderful! My kids just love him. He care about what the kids have to say as much as the parents. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and doesn't rush teh time spent with his patients. I respect that about him.

When I was pg with my first daughter, we found Dr. Ventimiglia. We met him after office hours one evening He was more than willing to answer all my questions and offer suggestions. I could not be happier with my decision! He is very compassionate and has the best bedside manner. He understands my parenting style (very attached) and helps rather than hinders my choices. My girls love him (as much as a two year old can love a dr) His office is clean. His staff is friendly. We always have a good time going to the drs. Dr. Leo is a great dr and from what I hear Dr. Rau is phenomenal also. I highly recommend this practice and have actually told many friends about them. It does take a while to get a well child appt, but I call ahead and seem to have no problems. That is the sign of a good dr, one that is BUSY!

Dr. V is the best pediatrician! When our first child was born I chose a ped out of the yellow pages. They were OK. When our second child arrived, I went in search of a better ped. Through the recommendation of Beaumont Hospital nurses we chose Shelby Pediatrics & Dr. Ventimiglia.
He is so nice and thorough. Very gentle with my kids, and informative with the parents (us). Makes sure he answers any questions we may have, etc.
The office staff is always friendly in person and on the phone.
If I had to report a complaint, it would be that he so great and popular, he is booked out months in advance. But I'll put up with that for the best care of my kids.

PROS: Awesome Pediatrician
CONS: so popular he is booked months in advance
