4 Stars: In Your Ear was in My Dreams (by Jeff B.)

Located right at the Pleasant Street T stop on BU's West Campus, In Your Ear is one of Boston's best used record shops.

I am, by no means, a vinyl nut. But when I was looking for the entire Springsteen catalog on LP, I found most of it here. Two huge aisle of LPs are flanked by stacks and stacks of 45s and even some 8-tracks. They have a good VHS selection, a fantastic bargain rack and lots of old copies of music magazines.

They also have a lot of equipment (turntables, speakers, amplifiers) and a great stock of used CDs.and cassette tapes, too! They also pay fair prices (in cash or trade) for your old music.

Their oldies offerings are enviable I havent seen another used shop in Boston with such a good variety of compilations.

The prices on LPs and older CDs are pleasantly surprising. The prices on more current items are a little high, but its still cheaper than the used stuff at Newbury or Strawberrys.

5 Stars: New and Used music (by Danielle G.)

TONS of vinyl, new and used CDs, audio equipment, cassets tapes, VHS, A-tracks, random $1 CDs, $6 local bands... if you're willing to dig through boxes and shelves I'm sure there's a treasure waiting for you. Not the place to go if you're looking to new releases, but if you want hardcore 45's, they've got 'em.
