1 Stars: Oil change (by Volks W.)

I went to have oil changed on my 1987 Vanagon GL.
Read the reviews before hand so I did not expected to have everything to be perfect. The owner was very friendly and a nice guy, also the lady at the front office was nice.
I did asked if in the future they would service my BMW, but Wolf said he is only working with VW and Audi. It made me sad that I have to look for a mechanic for that but at the same time I was happy that I find a specialty VW shop.
After the service I got the shocker for the price, but I said what the heck, they must be good. Also I was told that they topped of the coolant and checked other things as well. Anyhow when I got home opened the engine cover to see just in general what is going on. I find that they did not checked the coolant, the water reservoir was empty when the engine was hot. Also the oil dip stick was not pushed in all the way, that would allow oil to sputter out and dust to get in. I think the mechanic at the place is not up to par on servicing a car, not even a lawn mower. I would not go back for anything except for parts, but would not let them work on my car again. Maybe I was unlucky but I would not give them an other try.
When I called them to let them know what I found they did not sounded very remorseful or apologetic. Again it could be just my luck, but would not recommend.

5 Stars: If you need your VW fixed, there is no other place to go! (by Nick D.)

Wolfgang, the owner of Wolf Auto Repair is VW trained in Germany and his experience is immediately evident as is his heavy German accent. His primary passion is modifying VW's for the younger crowd, but he is an excellent mechanic for those having trouble with their Passats, Vanagons, Bugs, you name it.

Most importantly, he's probably the most honest person I've ever met and he will go out of his way to cut you a great deal on your repairs. He's probably double the age of his workers, but he runs a great shop and I've sent many referrals to him. He works very quickly and would rather have the car fixed and out of his shop than sitting around. I can't say enough great things about Wolf.

PROS: Very fast, very fair and has an unmatched knowledge of Volkswagons
CONS: Shop is small and not in the greatest location.
