This place has changed. One of the individuals is still very nice, but the manager or the person who takes in the clothes is rude. We walked in to trade the clothes and she made it clear that she would need to see ID. I understand that when individuals trade in items at any location, whether it is a game store or video, ID is important because of the possibilities of theft. It sounds like based on her tone and look that she wanted to deter us from trading in our items because she thought we stole it. It felt like the television commercial with the white male, who called for an available apartment in different voices to see how the manager would react. She wrote our name on the board in a matter of minutes, stating that she checked our items. They were suppose to dump our items in a laundry basket to look through them, but I do not believe she even took the time to do so. When we received our bags back it did not look like she even took the time to look over the items. When we checked in to see if she had finished, she acted like she had not seen us before and asked us if we had been in the store for a long time and it was approximately 5 minutes. She used a condescending tone throughout the process, acting like we did not understand English or understand her rudimentary sign in process. I will not return to this place again. Her attitude made us put back the potential items we wanted to purchase. Go to Portland or another location or if you see the lady with the glasses turn back around because her Jim Crow attitude is disgusting.

I went on a big shopping spree, and stropped at Platos closet and not only did i spend but i saved lots of money and managed to buy closes for the whole family. It is a great store for people of all ages, and the employees were great and very helpful, and made me feel like i was an inportant shopper. That for me is an important quality for a store to have.

PROS: excellent customer service
CONS: no store where i live in montana

Plato's Closet is a teen/young adult resale shop located in the Tanasbourne Shopping Center. You can bring in your own clothing, shoes, and accessories for them to purchase. They are picky and only want very current, trendy styles from the last year in excellent condition. It is hard to know exactly what they will want to buy. I have sold there many times and have been suprised each time. On a few occasions, I have been certain that they would or probably would not want certain items I was bringing in; it turned out to be the opposite. You don't get a lot of cash for your items, but enough to make it worth the trip. You can acutally take in-store credit and receive 10% more than what they would have given you in cash. The store does have some nice things. If you are trying to make some cash, don't look around! You will probably find something you want to buy! Lol! The staff is very friendly, there is room to walk around, and they have music playing.

I've been in this store several times and never found anything worth buying. I take my daughter so she can find clothing and nothing is ever quite right. The styles that are "in" are not available until they are "out".

Although I've never purchased anything from Platos closet, I've stopped in several times looking for specific items. I've also brought clothing in and been paid a fair amount of money for my used goods. They only accept name brand items and they look for gently used garmets that the teens would be looking for.

Plato's Closet sells gently-used brand name teen clothing and accessories. It's a great place for a teen or tween to shop if they are on a budget. The store accepts Girls size 12 Youth to Junior 20, and Guys size 12 Youth to 42 waist. Clothing must be in good condition, current style and name brand. No appointment is needed and cash is paid on the spot for all items accepted. They also accept accessories (jewelry, belts, scarves, purses, etc). and books, cds, dvds, candles, games, lamps, picture frames and more. Check them out if you are in the Tanasbourne area. Right across the parking lot is Pizza Schmizza and Jamba Juice, for some cool eats and treats!

PROS: They pay cash on the spot for all items accepted
CONS: They are very selective about what clothing/acces they take
