Turnstyle

As a consigner, I love Turnstyle @ their Roseville location mainly because my stuff sells, and I've made probably.. about $300 so far just cleaning out my closet and getting 45% of what they make off of it. I think the location really helps in things selling - because it's right next to Rosedale shopping center, and because it seems to be one of their busiest, most high-volume stores (from what I've seen). The consignment hours are pretty convenient, too, as you don't need to make an appointmnet unless you have more than 25 items or if it's on the weekend or at a time where consignments aren't accepted. Another thing I like is that they're accepting spring/summer items now - for storage, which they will put out in January-February.

One complaint is the slight amount of hypocrisy involved with what they take, and what they have in-store. We see tons of Mossimo, Merona, and "low-end" private labels IN their store, for sale, but when it comes time to bring them in for consignment - they rarely accept them!

My few complaints are that as some other people mentioned, the staff can be INCREDIBLY rude; it's almost like they're TRYING to turn away business. I've actually complained about the staff in the past, to management, because of how rude they are on a continual basis. If you can look past this minor detail, you might be OK.

One thing, also, to note as a consigner - is that the people that help you DO make mistakes. They totally messed up a friend of mine's FIRST consigning trip by putting all of her things under the wrong account number. We had to end up figuring the mess out, and the funny thing: they never apologized or owned up to it. Be very careful with what you bring in, and make sure to get an itemized inventory print-out every once in a while to make sure all of the things you've consigned are actually on your account and under YOUR name!

As a shopper - I only occasionally find things that I actually like. A lot of the clothes are geared toward older women, rather than younger women (such as myself), and a lot of the labels that they sell are much older than the ones they accept from consigners. Prices can be a little bit on the expensive side - considering I once bought a pair of Express pants from them for $22, which is a good chunk of what I would have paid for them first-hand (They're really nice pants, though..So I shouldn't complain). ALWAYS mention that you are a friend of theirs on Facebook (they don't check) for 15%, go in during a sale (usually 20% off) or join their mailing list for 10%. They usually have specials like this that you should definitely take advantage of.

Overall, worth it to me - but definitely sometimes annoying to deal with the employees.

I love the store! I ALWAYS find something that fits. I have always had a hard time finding jeans or dress pants that fit me right and especially long enough. Well, Turnstyle has every size and length you can imagine, it's great!

I also find the staff very rude at all the Turnstyles, especially Roseville. Ive also heard their staff laughing and talking about customers, but not to their face. They continually claim that they dont take items from Target, yet there are tons of Target clothes there. I started going to Upscale Consignment in Woodbury. The people are great, there is a much better quality selection of clothing and items for the house.

The turnstyle have a good collection of gently used clothes. If the luck is with you you can find some great looking clothes at a cheap price.But the thing is most of the times you will find yourself unlucky.The staffs very also friendly and the clothes were also not so worn out so i like shopping there often.

Turnstyle is a good place to find gently used clothes that will fit into everyone budgets. The prices are good and they have convenient hours that make it easy for every person to check it out sometime. It is very similar to every other consignment store, you have to search for find great styles at great prices.

I consign here often, and every time I am disappointed in the staff. They are frequently snotty, inefficient and just plain unpleasant. I keep going in because you don't need an appt to consign if you bring in less than 20 items M-Th.

the selection is reasonable, but never great. I have found some great stuff there, typically underpriced, b/c the staff has no clue what it is worth. they frequently place hi prices on shoddy merchandise from big retailers, but don't recognize better designer names (good if your shopping, bad if your selling). A lot of the clothing is a bit dowdy.

PROS: drop in consignment
CONS: poor selection, unpleasant staff.
