Calvin was right back in Jan of 2011. Easy AC is a great company but needed a new permit manager. Linda took over as permit mngr this past summer of 2011 and has done a spectacular job in replacing our previous not so great mngr. GREAT JOB LINDA!

I couldn't have asked for a better system and the workers were amazing; There was a slight issue with one of the vents being cut too large but after they fixed it you can't even tell it was ever a problem. The field are people fantastic, the unit more than I had hoped for!
The behind the office a complete disaster. I can always expect to be put on hold, my answer to that is to hang up and call back. Worse than anything I have ever come across. It's been 6 months and the manager in charge of Permits has yet to responsibility for not getting, lack thereof, the permits we apparently needs to complete our transaction with this company. She has blamed everyone in the office, from the delightful Carolynn, to myself for apparently not having my name and phone number in the system. How ever, I have documented several occasions which negate her absurd accusation as I duly noted leaving this required information with her personal on November 9th when she made it very clear that from that day forward to address all communications with her. This was on the heels of my noting with her personally that I had received the back dated letters regarding the Country Inspections, one as far back as October with a post mark in November. She quickly changed the subject. Needless to say nothing to date has been done. I called her office last week to set the date up. Waited all day. Nobody showed. I called the next morning, her response: "Yes, they will be there today Tuesday 1/11, someone needs to home" I said I was home, nobody came. She said because they are coming today, Tuesday. I said today is Wednesday 1/2. she then goes on to start to say they tried to call me and they didn't have my phone number, I said yes, you do, no, we only have your husband's, I said that's not true. blah blah blah..turns out she tells my husband we needed another form! If it weren't for the fact we need these things done I would feel sad. However, I cannot recommend this company due to her AT ALL.

My system went out in Jan. and EASY AC installed a new system. They stated that a group of individuals would come between 12:00-2:00. The team did not show up until 5:30. They removed molding from the closet door in order to install the handler. [It took them two weeks to return to install the molding they removed].

After installing the unit they stated they needed a new breaker for the system; but did not have one with them. They stated they would be back in two days to install the breaker. [This took them two weeks also.]

Since the system has been installed I have had to call four times for repairs. Everytime a person comes out they find something else wrong. My system just went out again, after being repaired two days ago.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Their prices are the same as other companies; they have nothing to offer.

Response from this business:

Easy AC wants to take great care of all of our customers. If you need service call 813-COLD AIR thats 813-265-3247. You can speak with any of our customer care techs or ask for Mel Muir our operations manager, Nancy Montesino our office manager or one of our two owners Dave Whittington or Keith Westbrook.

Bait & switch! If you think you're getting a good deal for a $29.95 tune up for a first time visit, YOU'RE WRONG! The tune up is more like check up. The tech did not ask me if I agreed to pay $149 to replace a drain pipe, he just went ahead and did it, and stuck me with the bill afterwards. YES, $149 to replace a pvc drain pipe, taking 5 mins to do! Called the Easy AC office to complain and after stating my unsatisfactory service, the manager Hung up the phone on me. YES, the manager has no sense of customer service, imagine the rest of the employees! AVOID USING THEM AT ALL COST!!!

If youve ever had to sleep in a house in Tampa without working A/C in August, you will have a greater appreciation for the whole appliance and those that fix them! My AC went out late Sunday afternoon and indoors quickly reached 88 degrees! I called Easy AC that evening and they committed to a window of 10-12noon Monday. The tech arrived at 1030am. Going through financial hardship at present, I was worried about the cost of fixing or replacing an AC unit. The tech was very friendly, knowledgeable, and didnt pressure to buy something I didnt need. My repair turned out to be fairly simple and inexpensive but MUCH appreciated. I felt the tech was honest and open with me about how much longer my unit had before needing to be replaced. He gave a ballpark figure for replacement which I can now budget for. When that time comes, I will choose Easy AC to do the work. The tech even provided his cell phone number in case I had any questions later in the day. Very positive experience - would recommend to anyone.

I peeled their yellow sticky label from the Tampa Tribune front page because my AC was approaching 17 years old. Sure enough, a few months later the AC decided to start acting up and not cooling. I call Easy on a Friday night...they said they could come on Saturday between 12:00-2:00PM. A repairman showed up around 2:30PM. He checked my compressor out back of my house and it was low of freon. He checked the AC coils inside the air handler unit with his freon detection instrument it beeped rapidly at certain points where the coils are attached. The coils were very corroded and rusty. He said they were leaking freon and it was against the law to add more freon. He gave me a few quotes on a new system comparing various options. His prices were competitive based on others that I consulted about the price of these systems. The installers were not the same person that came out earlier and diagnosed the AC. It was crew of three men; one was not able to hear very well and had a speech impediment. Although that scared me at first, he turned out to be the most experienced and knowledgeable. I was around them all day observing their every step. They were very courteous, professional and were able to resolve any issues with installing a the unit. They had to modify the air handler platform because of the previous air handler frequently overflowed with water when the condensation pipe got plugged up with algae. They also had to reduce the height of the platform to make room for the new unit. It all done extremely well. It took about 7 hours to complete. They tested the unit, installed a thermostat, and cleaned up nicely before they left. Overall, I was very happy with this experience.

I called Easy AC based on the positive reviews here. They got my personal information without asking me what was wrong, I had to interject to tell the dispatcher person, and they didn't listen. They wanted to send a guy out immediately, which is a postive thing, but I had them move the appointment date for convenience. They never once mentioned a cost, and I was under the impression that diagnosis of the problem was free.

The guy who arrived came out on time and was friendly. I explained my problem to him (I expected a leak in the system), and he briefly looked over my system and tested my Freon levels... he even had me "smell" the Freon coming from his testing device to indicate something wrong with the compressor. I wouldn't recommend doing that, I still feel funny from it. He then explained to me that I might as well get a new entire AC system as the cost for checking for and fixing the leak (which he described as "huge") was high. He made me sit through a call on speakerphone to someone else at their offices about my needing a new system and how they could get me financing, and how it was a no brainer to pay $100/month for who knows how many months instead of fixing my system. Suspicious, but until I get a second opinion, there's a good chance he was completely correct.

The reason for the weak review is because he then asked me how I was going to pay my $50 fee for him to come out. That would not have been a problem at all if anyone at any time had quoted me a price for him coming out, instead they rushed through the conversation on the phone and had a guy come out without ever telling me how much it would cost. Apparently, it costs $50. I wish someone had told me about that the 3 or 4 times I talked to people on the phone before they came out. I'm putting this unsure review out here so that you know what you're getting into when you call them. Also, don't smell the Freon, I'm sure it's not good for you.

june... tampa heat... and my a/c decided to shut off... a couple of calls to my friends, and i got the number for this shop. they came the same day...infact within 2 hours of my call.... told me what the problem was (something with the compressor)... and fixed it in a jiffy. i still dont know how i can thank them for being prompt... coz people who live in florida only know how miserable it could be to spend a night without a/c. the service fee was quite nominal...and the diagnosis was free.

We used this company because we were having some trouble with our A/C compressor shutting off without warning. They offered a free A/C Service call and no diagnostic fee. You only pay for repairs you authorize. They were very professional and came out the same day we called! I will use them again in the future.
