Spice Of Life Emporium

When I went to pour my "Dark Roast" coffee it was lighter than Iced Tea. Somebody needs to teach these guys how to make coffee. The kicker was the guy working at the counter was beyond rude to top it off! How is this place still in business?!

Spent eight days in manitou, this was the first place I visted. Various pastries, coffee, teas and sandwiches. The coffee was terrible, I was shocked at how watered down it was. Quite possibly the worst coffee I have ever paid money for. The pastries on display did not look special but I'm sure they would have worked. On the eigth day of my visit I decided to try it again and to my horror they had the EXACT same pastries that were on display when I was there the preivous time. This prompted me to really look around the place. I cannot believe the health department hasn't shut this place down. The coffee bean jars looked like they haven't been washed in years. The spices on the wall must be years old. The beverage fridge was disgusting and needed a good cleaning. The kicker about this place is the people who run it are rude and not very welcoming. You would think a town as cute as Manitou Springs would have a better place to get coffee.

Don't waste your time or money at this place. I have never been so insulted by a cashier in my life. He was rude from the moment I said "good morning" to the moment I left. I began by asking him if a certain flavor was good in a latte and his response was a VERY rude "we use it all the time." Not a simple "yes, it is," or "no, I do not prefer the flavor." What happened to customer service? I repeated the total of my order back to him to confirm I heard him correctly and he had the tenacity to tell me "if you were listening, I said your total was $..." This man was obviously not educated and I question his mental stability. There are so many places you can get coffee these days, I certainly WILL NOT return to this establishment.
