This thrift store, if you catch it on the right day can house some nice furnitutre. Although outdated, most of the pieces have either culture or charm. I have lucked up on a couple of occasions and noticed some really useful household items...full lenght wooden mirrors, bedframes, dressers all real wood. Its not so great for dresses/shoes though. One time I found a great DKNY carry-on. It also has affordable linen that looks brand new. Dont under-estimate this thrift store people.

A few blocks up from Oregon Ave on the west side, this Goodwill store houses racks upon racks of used clothing, mostly in very good condition. A lot of their clothing is left overs sent from other stores like Target, so you can find a skirt for like 75% less than it's original Target price. They have a really wide variety of jeans there too. The one unfortunate thing about this store is that the groups of clothing are not seperated in the best fashion. In one part of the store you might find shorts that definately should be in another part, and there isn't much distinction between mens and women's bottoms. The prices are always clearly marked though, and about normal for what Goodwill stores charge.

If you're looking for vintage - best to try a real vintage store. There's mostly unwanted 70s-current clothing here.

PROS: Dozens of racks of clothing
CONS: Not a lot of furnature or kids toys
