This place is horrible, and I am not saying that to be catty. They are really really bad. They focus so much on selling the products that they forget they are unskilled with hair.

I have tried different people with the same result. The last time I went I asked for a few highlights to lighten up my light brown hair. I told the girl I had worked hard to get back to my natural color and I didn't want anything extreme. Instead of doing highlights, she did a toner and assured me it would lighten up nicely and look natural. It was only supposed to be on ten minutes and she left me there for 25 minutes in the chair while she went out and smoked. Finally, she came back and checked my hair. My scalp was burning! After drying it, my natural hair color was a nice orange red! I told her I didn't like it and she argued with me and said it looked great. I called the next day to complain and they told me I could come in and get it fixed with some guy that's supposed to be good. He refused to acknowledge that my hair was destroyed and brought to other useless girls in that didn't think it looked "too brassy." He then told me if I wanted my hair fixed I had to pay another 40 because I didn't originally pay for the full color. So instead he slapped on two lowlights in the front to supposedly try to darken it. He also asked why my scalp was burned and hair broken on the top. Ummm...I wonder why. Chemicals were on my hair more than 2 times the amount of time required.

While he was doing the foils he kept telling the stylist next to him how it was all going to come out of the other girl's commission for messing up my hair. When he was done he told me I had to pay to have it blow dried or walk out with wet hair. WOW! Now that's some great service isn't it. They messed up my hair, they were rude the whole time, then they make me walk out with wet orange hair! I will never go back to that place. When it was all said and done I spent almost $250.00 for crappy orange hair that had to be fixed by a real professional. Anyone that says otherwise or gives a positive review on here is probably employed by them and told to do so.

To start, lets make it clear that by using the name of an employee as you have done and clearly slandering her name and character with your biased opinion( since you were not there to witness this)you can be charged with defermation of character. Thank goodness for you, the person in which you speak is not that type of person.
However, I CAN give the facts of what actually happened.
It was very clear from the beginning that your child was not comfortable being in that environment.You stated your child has special needs..being outside their comfort zone can cause severe distress for them. Therefore, the child was screaming and would not hold still.This then alarms other guests who have no idea what is going on, and in turn, makes them uncomfortable. It was clear the child was disressed and for them to try and continue to a haircut, would not only be unsafe, but clearly add to the stress of the child...which no one wants to do.
The employee DID only ask if shed like to come back another time, not because she is rude, but for the comfort of your child! Not once did she tell your wife she HAD to leave nor was it done in a nasty manner. She was very understanding and sympathetic to the situation at hand.The person you speak of is one of the nicest people I've met! I encourage ANYONE reading this to go see for yourself!
I'm not sure what take on this story you recieved, but it was clearly the wrong one or taken entirely the wrong way!
I hope in the future, instead of taking lifes frustations out on others, you take a look and see what YOU can do to better things...and get the facts straight!

my experience with kenneths was so bad. this goes back several monthes. I was seeing a girl at the academey who ruined my hair color and did a bad cut. I thought I would give the salon chance to redeem itself and called to complain. They told me to come and they would take a look. When I went the girl that helped me did recut it right but talked me into not fixing the color. she made me feel like it was my fault that the color was done wrong. It is the stylist job to know what is best not mine and my color should have been fixed. I feel she reflected what managment had told her to do in how to handle me so they did not have to eat the cost and fix my color. Because of this I will never go back. I found a good salon where they know what they are doing and my hair is beautiful. I wish you could see how good it looks. I tell all about my bad time at kenneths and warn people never to go there. Many others have told me same kind of stories. You had your chance to keep a good customer and save your good name and teach that stylist some leasons and your blew it.

My wife took my 5 year old daughter who has sensory issues to get a hair cut. As expected, she cried. The manager, Ashley came back and threatened my daughter that she would have to leave if she didn't stop crying - with my wife standing right there. She was getting her hair cut for her first kindergarten pictures and because this girl kept threatening her, it made her even more afraid. The haircut was awful and my wife left in tears. The manager denied ever having said that they would have to leave and when I spoke with them about my disappointment, I was told for five minutes that they were sorry for how I felt. Seriously...this is Hilliard Ohio...not Beverly Hills. I would advise each and every person to STAY AWAY from this establishment. Extremely rude and discriminating.

I have searched all over looking for someone that knows what they are doing. I know what I like and I was so tired of hair stylists doing my hair the way they wanted to. I finally found Catherine and am so pleased with her work. She not only gave me the style I love..she "moderned" it up for me. :-) I havd used Kenneths in the past and was not impressed but decided to give them another try..and I am very glad that I did. Now I just hope Catherine stays in the Columbus area!

Tiffany at the Mill Run salon was the worst cut
i have had in a long time. Went back 2 days later to see

I got my hair cut and colored with Vivienne. She asked what i wanted, which was an all over color.
She told me it wasn't possible. And gave me highlights i didnt want, and i don't feel have turned out nicely.

I feel the cut was hurried, rough and she just sort of chopped away.

Her brushing and washing were very rough, leaving my scalp and head sore.

not a happy experience, and i wouldn't be recommending it, nor going back. especially after what i had to pay for it.
I have paid less for much better cuts and colors.

I went to the salon at the Taylor Square plaza. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who did my hair. Aimee? I'm not sure. I simply told her I wanted a cut that makes me look younger. I also had highlights added. I'm from Nebraska, so didn't think I'd be coming back. However, on the way to the airport we stopped at a conveniece store. I was looking at stuff on the counter to kill time while waiting for my husband to pay at the checkout. A younger man asked me if I was in line. I said, no I'm waiting for my husband. Then he said, " wow, lucky man." I'm past 50 and that hasn't happened for a long time. Now that's a Great Haircut!!!!

I'd give this place zero stars, but that option isn't available. Sometimes you just don't get what you pay for. I had an appointment with Paige at the Mill Run Kenneths, I brought in photos from the front and side so she would see exactly how my hair should look, I explained all the details about how my hair worked, then she butchered it in 15 minutes of less! All of my natural curls were gone! I complained to the manager the next day and showed her how my hair looked prior to the cut. She didn't seem to know how to handle it or even what to say.

I was finally given the option of having Cheryl take a look at it. Even Cheryl didn't know what to do. She suggested I come back in 3 months time and let her recut it.

$60 for a cut........I could have paid $10 at the barber shop and got more for my money.

I go to the Gahanna/New Albany location which is the BEST!!! If I could afford it, I would be there every week. Yet although I'm not a regular customer, I get the royal treatment from everyone, front desk to cleaning lady. For waxing I love Kelly, with her it doesn't hurt at all and she is such a great person. For haircolor, cut and style, long hair or short, there is no one better than Meghan, she is a great person and a very skilled professional. I see her the most, my hair grows fast. I've had facials, massages, mancures and pedicures, and it was all great. There is such a relaxing atmosphere, especially in the spa, free beverages hot and cold (everywhere) and delicious fruit and nut snacks (in the spa). This is a place where even waiting is enjoyable (I'm sometimes too early, my appointments are always on time). I used to go to Penzone's, forget it, more expensive and you are nothing but a number. Whenever I go to KENNETH'S GAHANNA/NEW ALBANY my stress stays behind there and I leave relaxed, happy and looking amazing. THANKS EVERYONE!!!

I have been going to Kenneths in Reynoldsburg for many many years and I have never been more happy with my hair!!! The review about the Assistant manager was appalling! I have encountered her many times and she is a doll! The disturbing comments about her couldn't be farther from the truth! The customer must have been jealous of her beauty and charm!!

Made a specific and clear request what service I wanted when we made apt. (prior to vac. too) get to the salon and manager says they cannot perform the service because the product was being discontinued. They had a nice supply of the product, and I was told that. However, it was being used for regular clients. I was not happy,

For nails, Veronica is the consummate professional. I have been to many nail salons and she ranks up in the top 2%. I wouldn't go to anyone else. I've had mixed results with other spa personnel at this salon.

I recently visited the millrun location kenneths. From the moment I walked in till the time I left the salon I felt like I was just another client or just another number in line. First of all there was a crowd of employees. when i walked in and they all got quiet when I walked in . I came in for nail services. and my nail girl looked unproffessional. And did a horrible job I called to talk to a manager and there was not one there. The girl at the front desk did not care at all she took my money that was all. Nothing to accomadate me for that day after I told her my experiance was horrible. And asked for the next person in line.

She's taught me how to take better care of my hair and has always styled and cut it exactly the way I've asked.

This salon may be a little pricey, but they are very attentive and you get what you pay for (exactly what you asked them to do).

I hate to say this but the massage was great, however Kenneth's employees lack professionalism- after my massage on 9/2/08- 5 employees were gathered around the front desk laughing- when they saw me coming, they all did the common elementary SHHH! I felt SO uncomfortable- my 'licensed' massage person was one of the 5!! I went there to relieve stress, however I left stressed again!! I called to talk to the manager about this, and she really did not care- she is 'SURE' they werent talking about me! that's not the point- grrr..did the manager offer me to come back and they would make things right? no- that is why I have to warn people myself about a place that doesnt care how you feel when you leave the spa! Charles Penzone's is MUCH better:)

I went to the location on Fishinger Rd I was very unhappy with the pedicure and manicure I received. The salon was extremely busy, which is good for them, but showed in the services, they took me back for my pedicure 20 minutes late!! then to compensate for them running behind cut my pedicure short by 10 minutes. It should be 60 minutes NOT 50, and for the $62 dollars I paid I felt I should have been more taken care of. I also spoke with a manager at the salon after my service to express my concern, and after I explained to her everything, she asked me if there had been something wrong with the service itself? HELLO? the whole thing!
Overall my experiance was awful!! I will never return to a salon with the Kenneths name again. They treated me like I was just a number, and thats exactly what I was.

I love my stylist Leanne. I had recently had a problem with stress that caused my hair (that was already sort of thin but not quite as bad as you would think) to fall out so badly that you could see my scalp. Not only is she great with my kind of hair but she suggested styles and treatments that would cause my hair to look better under the circumstances. Now that my hair is growing back in and looking fabulous (thanks leanne) I will continue coming back and getting her helpful and wonderful hints

Typically a hair cut is a traumatic experience for me. This is why I rarely go get one done. And when I do, I spend little to get one, and so I end up with shoddy results. This time (for my birthday) I decided to go somewhere nice. I'm greatful there is a Kenneth's hair salon close by!

My stylist's name was Jill. She was friendly from the moment she came to get me from the waiting area, until she led me back to the front to pay. She listened to what I wanted done, and even gave a few suggestions after I said I really wasn't sure what would look good on me. She did not go overboard on my hair, or "under board". She did a great job, and I left feeling like a million bucks. She gave me her card for next time, and I do believe there will be a next time!

Oh, when she washed my hair before the cut and style, that was just a great experience. It was like getting a head massage! It was quite relaxing.

I felt like she totally knew what she was doing, and that she had no problems catering to her clientel. I would recommend her services to anybody!

I've been to the hair salon and the spa. The spa is first class. You receive a herbal shower before a massage, then to the quiet room to relax and have a snack or drink, then for the massage. The best

I have had massages, facials, and regular haircuts at Kenneths and I must say they do a fabulous job of pampering. I feel like I am important to them as a customer and they take special treatment of me when I am there. I do think the prices are way too high, although competitive with other dayspas in the area. Price is the only reason I don't give them 5 stars. Other than that, every once in a while it's nice to be babied!

PROS: Wonderful, personal service.
CONS: High prices.

I had a deep tissue massage with Molly at the Polaris location. It was definitely intense. I went in a personal sauna afterwards, which was really nice. I also felt pampered. The massage was really intense though, and I was in pain afterwards.

Ive had spa treatments at a couple different Kenneths locations, and I would have to say that their services were just adequate nothing special. I think my biggest complaint is that their facilities arent luxe enough. It feels a little sparse and sterile. You dont quite feel pampered. There are several other spas that I would recommend over Kenneths for the same price.

I have only been to the day spa twice (never to the salon), but have received an excellent massage both times. The atmosphere is very relaxing and I thought the prices were very good.
