Party City

Unknowledgeable help; awful customer support. I called in advance of visiting the store to see if they had a morphsuit (think full body unitard) for a woman who wears a sz 6 and inquired about the cost. I was told they only had a men's medium, it was $29.99, and they took my name and offered to hold it for me (all seemed great.) When I got there, a morphsuit of the wrong color was on hold without my name on it, and the adult (unisex, not mens; sized by height, not clothing size) was $44.99. It took the inept staff 15 minutes to confirm they did not have the size in the color I needed, but I could try the larger size and return for a full refund by Oct 24th if it was too big. The teller told me in great detail to put it on briefly, as they stain easily. I tried it on that night, and it was too big and already stained. When I tried to return it 3 days later, I was told they could not resell a stained item, I should have inspected it before I purchased it, called the same night and not waited 3 days, that their return agreement says the package must be unopened (it doesn't,) and that parents try returning torn children's costumes all the time. It was as though they were accusing me of soiling it. Of course they asked me the name of the teller that helped me and I had no idea and it wasn't on the receipt and said that they "tell all their customers that the costumes can't be opened." I had confirmed with the teller that I was buying a large size to try it on because it was the only one they had and the packaging was a snapped bag in its original condition. This experience was completely frustrating and time consuming. I hope to never shop at Party City in Redwood City again. Their staff is unreliable, return policy unfair, and management accusatory and unreasonable.

I love Party America - they have great prices and stuff I really like. We love to throw backyard parties, and I especially love picking up fun decorations, like tiki torches and leis. Halloween is definitely a fun time to go too!

Newly Remodeled store. I got a bit lost the last time I was in there, but it looks cleaner and more organized. I go in a lot for items for special events for my work and they always have something to work for what I need. They have a great selection of themed party items.

They cannot be beat on pricing. I usually find go to a couple of places to see what's availabe and come here last to check prices. But a lot of what they have for party favors is junk. So pick you ritems carefully and buy your bulk items here--plates, cups, etc. But check other stores for favors.

I went here looking for some items for a birthday gift grab bag! But all the items had to be purple (the birthday boy's favorite color). I found tons of stuff, and the staff was very helpful. The store has every little knick-knack one can imagine.
