The French Market is very crowded and the different storefront spaces are so close together it may be hard to tell where one ends and another begins. There's occasional tight squeezes, especially when shoppers stop to inspect merchandise without moving out of the way.

A great place to spend the afternoon. I found beads, masks and lots more. I left there with 3 bags of things including some tote bags. A fun place to find all sorts of southern things.

The French Market is a must experience in you ever wander into the French Quarter in New Orleans. It's the last stop for the street cars when coming from the dirction of the Riverwalk Mall so it's very easy to find.

The French Market is a collection of shops and shops and shops that sell almost everything under the sun. There are even vendors who come from Montreal, Canada who sell their wares at this market.

There are tables and tables full of jewerly, T-shirts, seasoning, kettle corn, artwork, cookbooks and all sorts of trinkets. Plus, lots and lots of Mardi Gras masks and beads to the hilt. Almost everything in this flea market is cheaper than what you would find in a store around the French Quarter.

The flea market is just one area while another part consists of food, food and food. It's best to purchase what you want near the end of the trip so nothing goes bad.

At the end of the day, when the vendors pack up around 5 or 6, take the streetcar back and relax at Caf du Monde.

PROS: Lots and lots and lots of items for a great price
CONS: Can get very hot if you are not prepared
