Excellent service! The gentleman at the counter was in the middle of something and stopped what he was doing to greet me and offer assistance. He was very patient and went through what stock he had and even suggested other music shops that might have different inventory. I was not able to make a purchase, but would definitely return if I need something else! Thank you for treating me well!

I had an old fender F-15 Acoustic in need of a repair back in 1993 or so. There were two Portuguese brothers that ran the place. They fixed my guitar and the older guy played some amazing riffs on it plus a bit of flamenco. He then handed it back to me and said,"Here, you see." I am an amatuer player at best, so I made an excuse about my car being double parked, paid a very fair price for the work and left. I got to my car, which wasn't double parked, and began to strum Dylan's "You Ain't Going Nowhere" which is like 4 major chords. I was sitting in the car strumming, with the neck out the window when the old guy came out laughing. I was embarassed at my lack of expertise, until he smiled and said, "All music is beautiful. You play very nice." And then he went back inside. I haven't gotten that much better at really playing guitar over the years, although I do enjoy it immensely, and whenever I feel discouraged I think back to that day and "All music is beautiful." And I keep playing. Thanks to Ted's.

Ted's is a pleasant old music store. I have not bought any instruments there, so I will not comment on the prices of instruments. They have a good selection of strings and manuscript paper. For composers and musicians who like to write out music, they have a great variety of manuscript paper sizes, from 8.5 x 11 to over-sized orchestral. I have found that they usually have a better variety and lower prices on manuscript paper than the Peabody Bookstore.

A really cool looking shop from the outside looking in, and pretty neat little shop inside. looks land smells like it's been around forever, which is a good thing! if those walls could tell stories im sure they'd keep you entertained for a while!.

Seems to cater to peabody instruments, so if you're looking for guitar center selection and prices, this isn't it, but it was REALLY friendly service, some cool old instruments around but like the other guy said it's pretty expensive. 8.50 for a pack of strings is high, but it's a mom/pop shop so that's to be expected. i didn't NEED the strings at that price but the dude was nice so i bought a set of d'addario acoustic strings.

cool shop.

As a drummer, I can only say that his prices are outrageous for some of his drums. He had 3 vintage snare drums, only 1 of which were in playable condition. I asked him how much for each one and he told me $300 for each. These particular snares are worth $300 all together in the condition they are in. They are either covered in rust or missing parts. Not only that, these 3 drums haven't moved in 2 years. Fortunately, no body is willing to pay what he's asking. Unfortunately, 3 drums with great potential are just wasting away in his shop. He obviously knows very little about drums. and knows much more about other instruments. Not the place for drummers. I would recommend the trek to Chuck Levin's or go see Louis at Atomic Music in Laurel.

I bought my Czech Acoustic Bass here. A wonderful instrument for the money. they had everything I needed to get a new start with my music again. I couldn't have found an instrument of this quality for the money anywhere. I highly recommend Ted's Music, even if you have to travel to get here. This store has a long history for servicing musical instruments and musicians of all levels. When you visit this shop, give yourself time and be ready to see far beyond what you may have come for.

I took my old saxaphone into Ted's and he paid me a good amount of money for it. The store was cool looking and had a broad selection of instruments that anyone would be excited about. There were numerous trumpets and saxaphones that lined the walls. They also had somecool art work and photographs of classic artists such as Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis. Very nice place.

I LOVE TED'S! This is by far.... Way Far... the best music shop in Baltimore City. Located across Centre Street from the world-famous Peabody Institute (music conservatory), Ted's offers students and the public a selection of fine new and used instruments at knockout prices. As an example, I personally purchased a genuine 1965 Fender Strat for 1/4 of the list price anywhere else. I can't recommend any place higher than Ted's, because they just straight up ROCK!
