Staufs Coffee Roasters

Stauf's is an absolutely cozy and relaxing cafe. Not the best place to study; it does get pretty loud most of the time. They offer a wide range of coffees which are excellent. My favorite is their chocolate shake, second best- Oregon Chai. The crew at Stauf's is quick to remind you to make a purchase if they find you just using their internet and hanging out which is understandable but yet surprisingly comes off as rude. Also they can be pretty picky about customers joining tables or moving them around which is also understandable; however, this rule excludes white males and only applies to everyone else. Perhaps, the crew needs to be consistent in their application of rules.

All in all, this is a great place. The environment is classic, and extremely conducive to relaxing, conversation, and work, although it's somewhat loud, making reading difficult. The service could be more pleasant, but the crew's standoffishness complements the atmosphere (I don't trust the SBux baristas with their fake smiles plastered on their face. These guys seem honest about their job, and when kindness does come through it's genuine kindness, not Corporate-sponsored). The crowd is great, although the dismissive troop of regulars is somewhat alienating, although quaint. The mild brew could be less acidic, the dark roast less earthy, and their freshness quality control could be enforced a little more rigorously. But mud is mud, yes?

I met my life partner at Staufs.

I would like to know how many people (lots, including me) have written dissertations and theses on laptops at Staufs.

Great coffee, great atmosphere....There is nothing better.

Stauf's is a great little coffee shop. They have the best coffee in Columbus, by far. They roast their own coffees and always have several varieties including flavored and decaf available. It's a great place to go read a book or catch up with a friend. They have various pastries inculding muffins, scones, etc. It's a simple coffee house but still has some personality. It's a nice break from the big chains and I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the joe.

Staufs is a classic coffeehouse -- it serves as the center of the community, a great place to hang out, as well as offering delicious coffee and other beverages. They have pastries and varieties of edibles as well, though that's not their claim to fame. The hub of the cool Grandview district.
