We love Italian food and can say that this is a fantastic restaurant. I had the Lasagna last time and have to say it was the best I've had in a long time.

Our family loves Italian food. My husband is Italian and grew up eating some of the best homemade Italian food plus we have traveled several times to Italy and eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world. Therefore we can honestly say that Tucci is a great restaurant that serves fantastic Italian food. The wine list is splendid and the chocolate polenta cake is to die for.

This is a charming little restaurant in Lake Oswego. Service is always fabulous and the food is amazing. From salads to desserts it is YUM. The Caesar salad is Delicious but so is the spinach salad. As a starter you can't beat their house made mozzarella sticks. For a main dish the seafood risotto was a table favorite as were the scallops. For a die hard chocolate lover the chocolate polenta dessert was amazing.

We wanted to try Tucci out for quite some time. We have a young child - 19 months and know it's important to know if a restaurant is "kid friendly" before attempting to dine there. We called ahead and spoke to Brian who assured us he would find the right spot for us to enjoy our meal and not feel out of place. We arrived and he quickly remembered our conversation and said he had the perfect table. We enjoyed the Monday night all night happy hour menu and were endlessly impressed with fantastic food, amazing service and friendly vibes all around. We will return in no time. This was a find and so nice for young families to feel comfortable! Thank you! We will be back soon. :-)

I recommend the happy hour here. It isn't as busy and noisy as other places and the food is top notch! Try the pizza!

ENOUGH about the Owner!! Being an LO resident, I frequent Tucci often,. I have sat next to the owner, and have found him very gracious and generous. Recently I had a friend up from Newport Beach Ca., and the three of us shared a delightful evening and great conversation together at the bar.. To our surprise, he picked up the tab, which included two orders of the best scallops in town!
Maybe it was because I wasn't wearing an REI fleece vest and Birkenstocks... Ladies, try and look like ladies!

My boyfriend took me to Tucci tonight for dinner and it was awesome! We understand they've recovered their original chef, who made phenomenal food for us. We had such an amazing dinner, the crab bruschetta and caprese salad were both superb, our pasta entree was really tasty, and we were offered several tasters of wine before deciding which bottle to enjoy with our meal. Our server was attentive, yet still gave us room to relax and enjoy. Every course was tasty and left us wanting more. The real kicker for me was, we walked in 20 minutes before closing and didn't hear ONE WORD about the kitchen closing down, nor were we rushed to order or treated with any type of irritation for sitting down so close to closing. We weren't rushed through a thing, and we had a beautiful meal, and such a fun date night together. Thanks Tucci, we will definitely be back!!

We used to go often when we could use our passport card, but since they are no longer accepting this or other discounts, we can't justify the prices of the food. Wine list is over the top expensive and it was always too warm, so we would have our red wine placed on ice, even in the winter. Food is great, no argument there, but it's not the kind of place where middle-income folks would go on a regular basis. We'd be back in a heartbeat if they offered some dining discount or lowered their prices, but can't really justify it when there are so many great places with more affordable food, that is just as good! Other than than, food, atmosphere are great.

Great service, excellent ambiance, incredible food! It was one of the best meals I've ever had..truly! I had the filetto arrosto. It was unbelievable to say the least. My friend had the same and she thought it was just as good as I did! The house salad was just ok but everything else was perfect! Loved it!

I dined at Tucci last night and had one of the most enjoyable meals of my life. I was so impressed that I came home to check out reviews on City Search and was absolutely shocked to see the two previous write-ups. I had a totally different experience. As a former restaurant industry worker, I have indredibly high standards. I can appreciate good service and great food, and this is exactly what I found at Tucci. My server was friendly, conversational, and had an obvious appreciation and expertice for the rarer Italian wines Tucci offers. I was seated immediately, had a bottle of great wine before I could even open my dinner menu, and enjoyed a filet mignon that was delivered promptly and cooked perfectly. My wife had the halibut that was on their menu, not a special, and had a very different experience than the person who wrote before, it was not the least bit dry. We finished with a chocolate polenta cake with a scoop of the house-made gelatto and it was absolutely incredible. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Maybe my experience was different because, to me, an owner doesn't determine whether or not my own dining experience is enjoyable. Maybe he isn't interested in conversation when he is enjoying his food, I know we were stuck silent for a moment. Or maybe he has become jaded by the very "entitled" clientelle of any business in the Lake Oswego area. As a business owner there, I know the feeling. Regardless, service is great, food even better, and I will take a grumpy owner any day if that is what I get out of it!

Pros: Great Service, Excellent wine

Cons: The water, splurge on bottled.

Unfortunately for Tucci, the owner is the reason why many of us from LO do not frequent his restaurant. He is seriously the most arogant person any of us have ever meant. He sits at the bar, eats his dinner and drinks his wine, and never looks or speaks to anyone.
There are many places in LO where the owners and staff are far friendlier. The food at Tucci is ok, but not spectacular enough to give that man any of our $$$. We tried again last evening....thought we'd give it another chance, but unfortunately he was rude again. We suggest that if the business makes him that unhappy, his other partners should suggest he stay at home!

We really enjoyed the music and atmosphere at Tucci's but frankly, the food did not live up to expectations. Can't comment on all dishes but I ordered the special, which was halibut and it was overcooked, dry and a very small portion. On the other end of the large plate was an equally small portion of spinach. I don't mind small portions but the food better be exceptional and this was not. Our appetizer of bruschetta w/ crab was also a disappointment. It was prepared on one piece of bread which after being divied up, wasn't much for any one person and very salty. On the other hand, the latin guitar duo was wonderful and the choice of italian wines is exceptional. I would recommend going for drinks and listening to the music.

LO doesn't have a lot of upscale restaurants so it's nice to have a place with a nice atmosphere and good food to go to without going downtown. When it first opened we weren't impressed, the food was cold and uneventful and the service was conceded and incompetent. HOWEVER, in the last few months it has been considerably better. The paperdelle pasta with braised lamb is my favorite. This is not a cheap, hole in the wall so expect to drop $50/p with drinks.

Have dined here 2 or 3 times per year over the last several years. Never had a bad service experience and never had a bad or even average meal. In fact we have been so pleased with the food, that we consider the cuisine equal to the best, if not the best, available in the area.

We took a simple question to the owner about a negative experience my wife had.

First we (gently and kindly--as we simply wanted the owners to know about the incident) spoke to a manager, who was very kind and responsive. She said the owner would call.

He did, and launched into an irrational tirade. The details can't be published on city search, but needless to say, he was not only rude, but someone else may fall victim to what we had seen as a highly consequential act of carelessness.

I was very disappointed in his irrational behavior.

Pros: Ambiance

Cons: Some of the service

.

Spectacular food, wonderful ambiance, and very good service. Still my favorite - I bring visiting friends and family here often. For those of you who wrote "below average" reviews (I wondered whether they were actually at Tucci), do give it another try, especially now the expansion is complete. There clearly is a reason it has such a substantial and loyal following. It's a gorgeous place with fabulous food.

Pros: Inventive/ever-changing menu, luscious fresh offerings, luxurious seating, great wait staff

Cons: At times, the wait staff appears to be over-extended. It would be nice to include a few more affordable wine selections.

.

Nice ambience, overpriced and dissapointing.

I ordered a prociutto Panini sandwich with fresh mozzerella which looked great, but...it was stone cold and not grilled. Richly priced and not at all what I expected.

One of their most basic second dishes, parpadelle, has been incredibly good twice - once with wild boar and once with braised lamb. Truly extraordinary. But the caesar salad is a few leaves with a bit of shaved cheese - I estimate their profit margin on this at about 90%. Ravioli was pretty bland twice. The wine list is far too expensive for the cuisine: there are only a few bottles under $45. And the place has moved from busy to frantic: way too much hectic bustle, emphasis on hectic. We did not encounter intentional rudeness or arrogance, but the place felt like a New York subway car at rush hour.

Pretty good food. The wine needs to be stored in cooling unit, as we always have to ask for our RED wine on ice. They do fish dishes with ease, some of the best scallops on this West Coast. More of a French flaire, not so much Italian, but prepared very well. Staff seems rushed and busy, but they try to take care of you. The open environment is loud, but appropriately so. Looking forward to the additional space. Great Wine List, mostly Italian. Still doing a great job with the meals after the 4 years of being on the map, keep it up.

Some of the dishes here are just weird--like "warm carpaccio," which is kind of like "braised steak tartare." The Caesar salad isn't a caesar at all--whole romaine leaves in an italian dresing with parmessan grated over it.

Not a terrible experience, but hardly the high-end fare it fancies itself to be.

Had never been before but decided to make the trip from portland. The food was bland, overcooked and not very exciting. The wine list was overpriced. The timming between courses was much to long. I had heard good things about this restaurant but my date and I were very dissapointed. That is with everything but the hospitality and the service. We were well taken care of by the waiter (Michael) and the elegent hostess/manager (Veronica). They made the meal somewhat palatable.

I had been to this restaurant in the spring and wanted to try it again. The experience I had in April was good, and I was just as pleased in October. The restaurant has recently expanded and the addition looks as it has always been a part of the original. The seating options are offered with variety now, and there is a fireplace in the new bar. There is a room in the new addition that looks like it would accomodate a private party. The lamb papparadelle was heaven. My date and I shared two appetizers, and two main courses, both excellent. Although we did fight over the last bite of the papparadelle. Still remains one of our favorites.

My Husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner! We decided on Tucci and went with much excitement, but to are dismay it was an over priced awful experience. We both have been to many great Italian resturants and have never been so disappointed. I had a shrimp dish that was absolutley horrific. The shrimp were NOT fresh at all and the dish was so bland that I couldn't eat it. My Husband got a pizza that was the most blah pizza he had ever eaten. We both got up from our table and the waitress asked "done already?" We had a enough...paid the bill and ran out...we couldn't get out of there quick enough. Honestly never judge a book by it's cover...this place is looks nice and is in a great part of town but it's definately below average.

This place thinks waaaay too highly of itself. From the sneering looks of the minimum wage staff to the cheap 'chic' decoration of this place, it's all unauthentic crap. The food is barely palpable and the servers are downright rude. I don't know what their deal is but we are most certainly not returning to this pit. It's only plus is that it's in trendy Lake O. If that's your cuppa, then by all means dine there.

The ambiance of the restaurant is fabulous! The food not so much. The lamb was way too salty and oversauced so no traceable elements of lamb were evident. The fish was overcooked even after a discussion with the waiter that fish sounds good but is normally overcooked. I even received assurances it would be fine. The wine list is amazing and the wine in and of itself was worth the experience - with some really good music in the corner as well. I am not too stingy with my money but would not waste it at Tucci's again.

I've been to Tucci many times for lunch and for dinner. The atmosphere is nice, if a little crowded with large tables too close together. Should improve when a planned renovation is complete...Jan 2006? The food doesn't warrant the high prices but the all Italian wine list is a hit with me. Service has been sub par in the past but on a recent visit, I was surprised by how friendly and courteous the staff were. Perhaps they've been reading some of the reviews. We had to wait in the bar - no reservations on a Friday night - and the manager brought an extra chair and requested that other diners make room for us. Unexpected but nice touch. They also managed to find us a table in less time than we expected. Food is good, but not outstanding.

Been to Tucci at least a dozen times with small and large groups. It was great: the food, wine and atmosphere. But the service has become well, "offensive". Our server the last 2 times was not only rude, he never apologized for my entree arriving cold and 45 mins later than the rest of the table. He did take it off the bill, but was extremely rude about it. The hostess: when confronted as to the where abouts of our meal became defensive and assured us our order was not forgotten. No apologies, either! This restaurant was on passportunlimited, which brought us back time and time again. But why pay their outrageous prices for poor service? There are many other first rate restaurants on passport, which we will be happy to patron. If Tucci cleans up the service and becomes a passport member again, we'll consider coming back.

I've been to this restaurant three times during the past year with three different friends. It has been great each time - twice in the dining room, once on the patio. The charming space, the friendly service and the good food combine to make this a most enjoyable, relaxed place to eat.

Highly recommend Tucci for excellent food, specials, desserts, ambience, service and comfort. The inside dining area is small but intimate. Best Fillet of Beef we have had. The lobster risotto special was wonderful. Our waiter was busy but attended to our every need. Wine list is exclusively Italian with affordable selections. Plan on returning in near future to sample other menu items. Don't miss the expresso cheesecake.

Do NOT go to this restaurant if you want good service. I have never been treated so rudely by a food server. My friends and I had reservations, arrived on time, and were seated. Not more than 10 minutes after we were seated, our server came to the table to inform my friends and me that we could only have our table until 6:30, and we could either move to the bar now, or wait until 6:30 and move. RUDE! When we informed our server that we had reservations, and that we were puzzled why we were being treated like this, she became more rude. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager gave us some lame story about seating arrangements/charts, apologized, and said we could have the table as long as we wanted it. I'll never go back. The food is good, but poor service ruined the evening.

After standing in the empty entry for more than just a few minutes, a girl with an overplayed English accent finally approached us only to explain that there weren't any tables available in the also empty little dining room. We were given the option to dine at one of the 6 bar tables, the pannini bar (looking squarely at the cooks) or at this bitsy little table that sat smack in the middle of the entry. Needless to say, we opted to dine somewhere else. Dinner again at Tucci? No thanks.

Lovely decor, unpretentious, knowledgable staff. Receptive, available chef with excellent training and a flair for the unique. The pan-seared tuna was like butter, the side dishes were just as exciting. MMMnnnnnn! Bravo chef Pascal! I will certainly return for the flavor and the ambiance.

Went for a romantic dinner. Hostess was more focused on the phone than live customers. Got to hear staff talk about their lives and paychecks. I could feal the table next to us breathing. Dinner was average, I could boil some noodles and throw butter and asparagus on top at home for 14 less a plate. Dessert was good, above average. Waiter did not know what was at the bar, had to go ask and forgot before he was back to the table. Dinner for 2 was $85 with the tip. Ill just drive to NW 23rd or 21st next time.

This restaurant, is pretentious, bad service, unyielding chef to vary even a salad (by omitting and ingredient) and the PASTA WAS BLAND, NO SEASONING. Had heard good things before, but EXTREMELY dissapointed with whole restaurant experience. Maybe when they figure out, that customers are their asset, they might sort their priorties out, and help will be on the way. A complete waste of money, and most of all time.

Staff was snobby, put us near the kitchen entrance at lunch while all tables were open during the entire lunch hour.... they were still open when we left. NEVER again!

Finally made the drive to Tucci. Only 10 min drive from PDX. This place surpassed our expectations. Food was exceptional!!!! Recommend seafood dishes, very fresh and unusual sauces. Starters, salads and soups are wonderful, a meal in themselves. The wine list is very Italian, and extremely well chosen, some hard to find. Service was attentive, kind and effecient. Place can be a bit loud on the weekends, but the very comfortable chairs allow you to focus on your own table and people watch. We expected pretencious, but there was none. Reservations are a must, but will accomodate if you are running late, etc. Very well done.

While the burbs seem like a distance, the trek is well worth it! We have been to Tucci many times and with a small or large group, service is very good and the food is unmatched! We have tried seafood, beef, lamb and pasta-it's all wonderful. Start with an appetizer, and share a salad or soup. This place stands alone. The wine list is complete and many price ranges to offer. Great value for money, you won't find such excellence any place in town! We'll be back.

We were greeted by a warm reception upon our arrival. I am embarrassed to say, but we were about 25 minutes late for our reservation. The hostess literally bent over backwards trying to find a seat for us. The decor is lovely. Very warm and cozy and the seats are so comfortable (nice high back chairs - I felt like royalty). We had this incredible, Crab Bruchetta and the Scallops melt in your mouth. Our server was super accomodating with our inexperience of Italian wine and recommended a reasonably priced bottle that we both enjoyed. Skepticle of the "Chocolate Polenta Cake" dessert suggestion, this also was a decadent discovery. With a family to take care of, going out is limited and service very important. I tend to stick to places I know I will be well taken care of. This restaurant will now be part of that circle.

We must be missing something here too. A surly hostess with an equally surly dining room manager got us off on the wrong foot. Service was fine, as was the food. Nothing to write home about. There are other restaurants in Lake Oswego.

lately the menu has become a bit 'out there.' Dined with a few couples and they all ordered the soup as there wasn't anything 'everyday Italian' to chose from.

Please bring back the classic Italian!

Tucci is excellent, we have dined weekends AND weekdays for the most wonderful evening meals! This is one of the best restaurants in the Pacific North West! Highly recommend their seafood dishes: calamari with 2 kinds of aoli, scallops are prepared just heavenly. The steak and ALL OTHER dishes are equally cooked to perfection. The chef obviously pays particular attention to preparation of the dishes and hand crafted sauces to accompany each individual dish they are to die for! Wines are reasonably priced, as are the other bar items. Desserts are scrumptious. The service was attentive, but not over bearing. Prices are fair, considering you are getting a 5 star meal! From starter to desserts it is absolute perfection; Tucci is the complete package.

Fully recommend give this a try, you wont regret it. Menu changes often, but you will always find something wonderful.

What a pleasant surprise. From some of the reviews, we had a different impression. The wines are not overly priced (some $5-6 per glass and up), maybe they've accommodated to the complaints. The meal was one of the best we've ever had. Recommend the rib-eye, melts in your mouth, it was tasty and most tender, generous portion. The scallops were prepared as they should be: tender, succulent, fresh as can be. Starters are all good, but especially the calamari, salads and bruschetta! In fact, every thing we had at our table was given the highest rating! Service, also very good! I have never found every aspect of a meal so satisfying, not until now: TUCCI does it right!

We will recommend to everyone! One of Portland Metros top establishments!!!!!

Love the Pearl, but don't want the parking or driving hassles? This surpasses the Pearl upscale restaurants. It is divinity, you will pay for top of the line food, wine and service, it is well worth it any night, or special occassion. Will return over and over and recommend!

My husband and I invited another couple to meet us for lunch at Tucci's after visiting the Lake Oz farmers market in October. The ambience was cozy rustic elegance, the service was extremely attentive, and the food was outstanding. The prices were about right for this upscale little ristorante... we'll be back for dinner.

Tucci has a very good assortment of "special" type dishes which I enjoy from time to time. However, I prefer the authentic italian pasta dishes served at Ricardo's in Lake Grove.

A nice "big city" feel for cozy Lake O. Food very good-- the scallops are FABULOUS!--BBBBUUUTTT, need MUCH more variety on their menu, or more daily specials. They say they don't have many daily specials because the menu changes so often, I have not found this to be the case. I would love to see a few more options for "regulars". Defiantely worth a try-- great drink selection! Warm, festive atmosphere! Friendly service!

And not the best of New York, mind you. The hostess and manager were clearly more impressed with their "hot" new spot than we were. Food was good, wines by the glass could use some help. Service was abysmal. Think: New York City Upper East Side with the same attitude, New York City prices, and Oregon service. You get the picture. Our money is better spent elsewhere.

My wife and I just went out for dinner at Tucci, and really enjoyed it. I had the rib eye steak, she has the scallops, both were excellent, lots of flavor in both dishes. For dessert she had the chocolate polenta cake, and I had the three gelatos mix. Once again, excellent! We sat at one of the chefs tables in the back, and were mesmerized by the excitement in the back, and the laughter as well. If you like being in the kitchen, you love watching pascal and scott and others working.

The food was great, it is an expensive place however, don't go expecting a cheap meal. But for the quality of food, the price was very reasonable. We'll definitely be going back.

Went last week, my spouse had the steak which was absolutely wonderful!!! But I opted for the crab fettucini which was awful. Nowhere in the description does it say it has cayanne pepper and you would not expect a cream sauce with crab to be spicey. Wine is WAY overpriced. Glass of red is from $7-17.50!! Most in the double digits. I think because it's in LO, they feel they have to gouge you. Limited selection.
