They have big selection of Japanese stationery but it is just too expensive. Every time I have been there I have spent 30 to 40 dollars. But some their stuff lasts a long time. The people there are a little curt.

Maido carries all kinds of Japanese stationaries from traditional rice papers and origamis to smart-looking stationaries. If you want to find something special for people who love Japanese style, this is the place to go.

teenagers like this stuff. cutsie and gadgety. also expensive$$$ which is typical for stuff from japan. Never has a phrase changed it's reputation 180 degrees as "made in Japan" in the 50's-60's to current prestige it carries. Origami, trinkets, cool pens, mechanical pencils and stuff I don't even know what it does except good to look at.

great shopping for gift if no budget or worry that a small bag of stationery that costs $20 looks like $5 worth of "oriental trading" knick knacks dust collectors

PROS: teenagers love it
CONS: parents don't get it

If it is totally cute, stationary related, and made in Japan, you can find it here. They even have cute paper clips! Nice stationary, and even Origami paper.

They have a great selection of pens, mechanical pencils, stationery, and journals. They seem to specialize in Japanese products so you'll find an interesting mix of products that you won't find anywhere else.

Most of Maido's stock is from Japan. Beautiful wrapping papers, cards, pens, pencils, notebooks, origami paper are some of what they sell. They also have lots of little Japanese character items such as stickers, notebooks, erasers, pencil pouches. The only character I recognized was Hello Kitty. The store also sells The Dog (fisheye lens pictures of specific breeds of dogs) notecards and calendars. Maido also has a frequent buyer's card.

PROS: Wonderful selection of Japanese paper

This is a japanese store with beautiful cards, papers and gift bags. They also have very unique erasers and school supplies. My kids love to visit. It is a great place to go for small items for birthday goody bags, etc.

Always on a quest for specialty paper, I love Maido for their beautiful Japanese papers. Whether you?re looking gift wrap, creating handmade greeting cards, finding that perfect writing pen, Maido is the place to go. This store continues the fine art of writing and correspondence. Every time I shop, I find something new.
