Standard Chinese buffet. Grilled lemongrass chicken is delicious, as is the "Buddha Delight" (tofu and vegetables in white sauce). Definitely pass on the pizza, enchiladas, and sushi - all terrible, and not what one would go to a Chinese place for. As to a previous reviewer who claims, "I'm not an idoit" [sic] -- yes, in fact, you are an "idiot".

Well i ate there today
(montgomery) hoping for
something different. I was
in the mood for some
chinese food! Seemed
nice, until i ran into the
host/cashier. Asian girl
who talks to you nice then
makes fun of you in her
own language. While her
male counter part laughs
along. Maybe you might
think i'm paranoid but i
know when people are
rude and are laughing at
me. I'm not an idoit. While
trying to gather my meal
another customer asked
for a utensil to dish out
some wasabi, the task got
handed off to another
employee, which happened
again until finally a young
man, after making quite a
fuss and letting everyone
in the restaurant know,
managed to get the
customer his spoon. Rude
workers, dirty place, gross
food. I got out quick, but
not before i got a have a
nice day with some
poisonious chinese
language directed to me
afterwards. What did i do
to her? Definetly never
going back.

We frequent go to China Star on Montgomery for lunch after church around noon. Typically, their adult/senior pricing is around $9.00 +/-. On this last Mother's Day in 2007, there was an 8 x 11 sheet of paper posted on their entrance door that said the price was $12.95 for that specific day. We assumed that they would be offering a special Mother's day buffet! Forget that! One of their main features was even closed down on that day, the create your own indgenrients (I don't recall what they refer to it as) was shut down "awaiting parts from China". There was not one single item on the buffet that was not offered on any other Sunday that we have visited there (probably about 20 visits per year). In fact, what we assumed to be the owner or manager, a gentlemen in his 50s or 60s, was meandering around, smiling and "making sure" everything was "okay".

Bottom line? The food is good. However, someone in the ownership (i.e., food chain) decided to rip-off the customer on Mother's Day. That person needs to remove themself (or with another's assistance!) from the decision making powers that influence repeat customer business. My mother and wife were really "put-off" by the mark-up of prices on their special occasion day.

Great find in Albuquerque. By far the largest selection of quality food, and we've been to a lot of Chinese buffets. Clean, hospitable, comfortable, I would recommend it to anyone. Go hungry and you won't be disappointed. Variety of good hot foods.

Pros: Extremely good selection

Cons: A bit pricey, but still feed 2 for under 20$

looking for a Chinese buffet restaurant, there are hundreds of them in ALbuquerque. looking for a good chinese buffet with fresh food all the time. go to China star.
most of the food are fresh, not like some restaurant serving buffet with leftovers. you must try the fry noodle, which is good. for rice I acctually suggest the whte steamed rice instead of the fried rice, you know why? fried rice are made by the rice left from yesterday!! service is fine, price is great
