I almost hate to recommend this beach because it's one of my favorites in CA and I'd hate to see it get too crowded. It's one of the best examples of So Cal--wide sandy beaches, good, rideable surf, tide pools and caves. There's plenty of parking too. One of the best spots around.

Looking for a romantic get-a-way? Great surf spot? Camping? Hiking? Tide-pools? Dog Beach? Sunbathing? Sounds impossible, right? But you can get all this and more at this awesome spot! Find a good hike trail to see waterfalls or crawl down the beach stairs after hours for star gazing.

PROS: Absolutely beautiful, truly an escape
CONS: Far drive.

As a Los Angeleno, I relish close get-a-ways and Leo Carillo is a great beachy option. I recommend reserving your spot at least 3 months in advance as the park is very well liked among travelers. Its camping with city amentities within reach!

Leo Carillo is almost always booked so if you and your family and friends want to camp at this hotspot, RESERVE IT WAY IN ADVANCE!!! It has the best of what California has to offer. It is surfer heaven with the beach as close as it is going to get. The mountains, the ocean, the sun, the trees... it has everything. Always filled with adventurous young people and families, it is a favorite among California campers.

PROS:
CONS: usually booked.

Leo Carillo is one of the most beautiful spots on the west coast. The beaches are amazing, surf is awesome and the trees and other wilderness are beautiful and calming. This place is beautiful and everyone needs to go here at least once.

This park is in north Malibu and it is located close to one of Los Angeles' best surf beaches. It is served by MTA bus #434 twice an hour. The entrance is about 12$ up, but definitely worth to chek out.
